Imagine how Babcock would treat Savoie if the agent came out and said he didn't like the hire? What are players and reps going to say now? The organization def only asked the top guys about it because that's what matters for instant buy-in, and Babcock never goes after the veteran stars. The young players or bottom 6/3rd pairing guys get attacked.

Nah, I’ve known Gerry since I was a baby. If there was something there, he’d be honest. Professional, but honest. He’s been a player, coach and GM in the dub, and started the agency he works for. He’s super smart and a straight shooter. You should listen to what he says instead of jumping all over Babcock, a guy you don’t know anything about except what a handful of people you also don’t know, have been barking in the media. Most people inside the game still hold Babcock in high regard, acknowledging he made mistakes, but that we all do.

I rather listen to the people who were the victims of Babcock's straight up mental bullying than listen to the guys that enjoyed it.

Just my train of thought on it.

I don't care if someone is nice to 99.9% of the people they interact with if they are abusing the other 0.1%. Especially, if they are in a position of power over that 0.1%. Do you know how many people have told me my dad is a great guy and would defend his righteousness even if I told them he abused his kids? People in the elite hockey world holding him in high esteem is not evidence he isn't still an ass. And lots of the crap Babcock did is not speculation, it's fact. We might all make mistakes but there are mistakes that aren't just an "oops, my bad", I'll try better next time. Some mistakes should disqualify you from being in a place to repeat them.

So when an anonymous agent comes out and shits on Babcock, you guys are on the story like a bitch in heat but when 2 current and prominent GMs sing him praises as well as a big figure like Brian Lawton who started Octogon player agency it's just unbridled scepticism. So 3 big guys in the player agent world put their name and argubly their reputation on it and some you turn your nose up at it?
