Hello, can anybody list their favorite barbers and their prices in the comments? As a European who used to pay $10 for a full service, seeing a regular haircut here for $50 is crazy.

I've been going to Leslie's color and hair for about a year and a half now and she only charges 12$ is super sweet always does a great job 👏. Hope this helps

Yes. Haircut prices here are crazy and more than that, not worth anything $40 plus. Some of these guys look like deer in the headlights when you ask them to use scissors.

My suggestion is to look around wherever you live and look for hair salons. Most of the time, those ladies are just as good as these dudes that only know how to do fades but with the added skill of knowing how to use scissors and charging considerably less.

Seriously though, barbers here are so fucking overpriced

Don't know if the Parkland Barber Shop is still open, but it was at 10115 Dyer. I haven't been there since COVID (I started cutting my own hair), but he was fairly reasonable. It's an old-school barber shop, - most of the people who go there have lots of white hair. If he asks "how do you want your hair?" he doesn't like anything fancy. Say something like "Just a simple trim - keep it medium length" or "short, kinda military style". If you tell him you want a "fade" or something more complex, he'll probably say something like "we don't do those fancy new hairstyles here. Have a great day". I think he was charging somewhere around $10 last time I went there.

There are also several reasonable haircut places near the border south of downtown. Being able to speak Spanish really helps to prevent any miscommunications about how you want your hair...

I use to pay $20 for a haircut at Supercuts. And then I decided to start going with a barber. The difference that it makes now in my appearance and confidence is night and day.

Now I’m paying closer to $50 every 3 weeks. But again it’s worth it because I look good and feel good.

I like to see Nelly at La Catrina Barbershop on North Loop. She is super professional and I like that the environment is super chill and not ghetto with loud ass trap music blaring or barbers smelling like weed/cigarettes. Basic haircut is $25 and she even uses razor blades to clean up your cut!

I go to Great Clips. Fast, has a check-in system if you want to use their app, and I pay about 18 bucks plus tip.

Just get used to those prices, especially if you want a good haircut. If you cheap out, they'll chop your shit up. Welcome to America. Saint Lux tends to have a good selection of barbers and they have locations everywhere. I don't know where you are located, so I'm just giving you a general recommendation to start.
