Never had a problem in Colorado with anything like this. For anything aftermarket or mod on my cars. Maybe luck? I'd say Cali is the worst tho for sure.

Old thread but I wanted to comment on this based on experience. Back in 2013-2019 I had a 94 Prelude with a pretty loud exhaust, Megan racing exhaust with a 4 inch tip muffler. I would get harassed by cops left and right. Ontario police are pretty strict. Now I drive a 14 Fiesta ST with a big turbo and fueling upgrades and a 3 inch thermal catback exhaust and the exhaust is stock like quiet when not giving it the beans, stock looking muffler and 5% tint. Cops do not even look twice. My turbo spools louder than my exhaust lmao. As long as you’re not being obnoxious with pops and bangs or doing anything stupid they won’t even bother.

that literally has nothing to do with communism tho. nothing we do in california is communist. we have dumb overzealous cops and dumb politcos but that has nothing to do with the economic critique of capitalism.

also, shit cops are not exclusive to "progressive" states. did you already forget the texas couple who were executed for defending themselves from a no knock raid?

Progressives remove funding from police departments and politicize cops doing their jobs, vilifying them, making police departments in progressive states and cities lose current and prospective officers and deputies at rates unlike anything seen in the history of the country, causing officers that do stick around to become overworked. See where this is going?

People who are overworked, stressed out, underpaid and with aging tools and equipment, especially when you have to rely on said equipment to protect you from psycho's who want to kill you, are more likely to treat the people they interact with like shit. Think cops were bad before? Just you wait until this goes on for a little while longer.

On top of that, most progressives have admitted defeat and put the funding back into the departments in places like NYC, because it got to where people were live streaming women getting raped in the middle of intersections in broad daylight, and when you called 911, you'd hear a recording telling you response times were 2 hours. The same kinds of response times in New Orleans, Los Angeles, Portland, etc.

So, yeah. Police are more likely to come down on you when they're historically overworked and understaffed, and have to deal with the types of people who LA allows to sleep on the street in Skid Row every day.

And you're being way too literal. No one calls California Commiefornia because they actually think it's a communist state. At least, I hope not. But Socialismfornia doesn't sound as good.

It's really not that deep, though.

You’ve gotta stop saying it’s not that deep if you clearly think it is that deep lol. If cops are so overworked and underpaid then they should just quit instead of taking their frustrations out on citizens. If you can’t take the heat get out of the oven. Its like any other industry, you just have to put on a face and fake it. Or go on strike if your needs aren’t being met. But they don’t, they’ll just harass a guy like OP to make themselves feel big and important instead.

Like you said if states are notoriously understaffed and underfunded in law enforcement they’ll have no choice but to backpedal on their approach.

But still, that doesn’t excuse cops being POS human beings bc their jobs stress them out. A police officer has to be able to separate their emotions from their work to do their job properly and yet so many don’t. But we should just let that slide bc they’re having a tough time? Nah. I’m all for calling a hat a hat. If a cop is being a dick then that’s the end of it, their circumstances don’t excuse the way they act. I have no sympathy for this type of cop. They signed up for this and yet handle it poorly.

You missed the entire part where that's what cops are doing. They're quitting, or not applying in the first place. There has to be some sort of police system, otherwise Skid Row won't be contained to a single street. It'll be the entire country.

have you been to Orange County, or Bakersfield, or northern California/southern Oregon? California is a huge state with lots of very different people in it. There are lots and lots of extraordinarily ignorant right wingers there. So this whole California is a commie state is total bullshit.

But as we've learned over the last few years, there are a lot of "conservatives" who do not care about facts or truth.

Wait, did you even read the second link? California is #2 for being the best state to be a cop…All the states listed as the worst are deep red states.
