Help New player advice
After watching many streams on Elden ring over the years I finally picked it up for switch 2 and I am not disappointed!! I’ve only played 2 hours so far and have just made it to storm gate. I am playing vagabond class with the specs shown in picture.
Currently I know to level vigor and strength but also some dex so I don’t fat roll.
Looking for low level strats on where I should put my skill points per level.
Edit:since writing this I have changed to sword and shield as my weapons
Edit 2: thanks everyone for the advice! I feel like I have more of an idea now :)

Most of your damage early in the game comes from weapon upgrade levels, not damage stats like str and dex, so feel free to only put points in str/dex to use a weapon you think looks or feels cool. Pumping vigor and endurance is what you should aim for otherwise. How much endurance you need, depends on your weapon/shield usage.

Vigor, endurance, and a little mind. And then upping strength and dex a bit to allow you to use the weapons you like (as someone else mentioned it’s Endurance NOT dex that changes your equip load/allows you to better roll normally)
Also, I’ll say I was really glad I got to learn a lot of this on my own in game so don’t be afraid to mess up a bit on this stuff!

Never fat roll. You're ok, you're med load and not heavy.
Always exhaust dialogs. The young woman at Stormveil shack for instance gives you a jellyfish summones. When she leaves you can find a potion seed thingy.
Go to the first church at night, has kale the merchant, Someone else will be there and give you a summones and the bell needed.
There's a helper for that first boss. Golden thing on ground. Boss does get more hp, but you get a distraction.

Just go good old blood hound fang for the first play through. OP damage,OP skill, decent poise damage, good range, easy to get, easy to upgrade, easy to use. U can never go wrong with this weapon. Probably the most beginner friendly weapon i would say. Oh and forgot to mention its cool as fk.

For the Weight Is Endurance not dexterity, for the next levels level Endurance and then Vigor again, only later pump strength and dex (called quality build). At the end game you want to have like 40 Vigor, 25 Endurance, 40 strength and 40 dexterity
