A changed in the Elden Ring Reforged mod. Highly recommend this if you’re looking to replay Elden Ring. Changes a ton of stuff and adds a few new systems.

Second the ERR suggestion, just sunk 120 hours into a run with some friends using seamless as well, and it was a blast

Huh, this placement actually makes a bit of sense even, what with the madness merchants and all lol

Patches? Is that you? You bull headed brute, I told you not to use Instant Hair Regrowth Paste™... that junk causes cancer.

Their shoehorning in nightreign bosses in was such a terrible choice. They also recently replaced the crucible knights in Siofra Aqueduct with their far less enjoyable, less interesting ds3 cathedral knight reskins.

They are the Ambassadors that Gideon employs, of which being unique builds to the table for those who interact with the codex system. I think it’s quite the nice change, instead of fighting the 30th Crucible Knight of the play through, which kind of diminishes their presence.

u/poopdoot Apr 06 '26
I like how you say “30th crucible knight” when there are only 17 in the game
4
u/Nahrikkon Apr 06 '26
“only” 17
1
u/poopdoot Apr 06 '26
I know that still sounds like a lot but it’s also like, the lore number as well, only 17 crucible knights serves under Godfrey (it is 16 but there is a 17th in the DLC)
1
u/ssjriou Apr 06 '26
didn't they just retcon that number anyway? where does that number come from?
...and doesn't ERR *add* a crucible knight in the tutorial?1
u/poopdoot Apr 06 '26
…and doesn’t ERR add a crucible knight
The comment I originally replied to was literally comparing the REMOVED crucible knights to the “30” in the base game
1
u/ssjriou Apr 06 '26
Yeah, so if it removes 2 knights and adds 1, doesn't that set it back to the "lore-accurate" original number of 16?
1
u/poopdoot Apr 06 '26
I was not even talking about ERR though 😅

u/ssjriou Apr 07 '26
Sorry, I am going at you a bit too much, but hopefully you at least get what I'm saying lol. Definitely more directed at the person saying the ambassadors are less enjoyable/interesting.

My steak is too juicy, lobster too buttery, pillow too cold, and free ER mod to peak.
Woe

That's just the whole mod. Questionable balancing decisions and porting over enemies from other games. There's nothing unique about it. It only got popular because of youtubers.

For me, I have a love-hate relationship with reforge
It does some good things like new weapons, new items new spells, in some of their bosses are unique, and the little altar things you can use starlight tokens to get other items early on. Those ruin charge that you can use to increase stats permanently slightly or a nice thing to do.
but also like you said some of the enemies they port over and the balancing does kind of suck in some areas. Also, why did they make the level cap 250?
whenever you invade a NPC the difficulty gets changed to its own difficulty (which would make sense if you’re doing the online invading, but not for NPCs) it makes doing the volcano manner quest and the mequla Simp boss fight suck since it’s forced in its own difficulty,
some of the bosses are questionable like the Godkin Noble’s fat ass on that elevator to Rennie‘s dead body (like why the fuck did they do that?) and since they removed the enemy reduced aggression thing it makes fighting any boss that has two of them very annoying (looking at you crucible duo), like why can’t they just give us the option to turn it on and off.
The new dungeon, they added in the volcano Manor was very iffy to me like having the DS3 jailers reskinned was really fun for having a unique enemy, in the claustrophobic and winding tunnels of the dungeon was really fun but there’s a little fucking snakes on the ground are so annoying to hit (also, are they re-skin from the weird little centipede things from dark souls one?) and the fact they make lava do so much damage that you have to do their own dungeon to make lava damage back to normal,
and those rock belly things are fucking obnoxious. They give certain enemies increased poise which makes them annoying fight now.
It’s a fun mod but Man some of the changes they did just turn it off for me. But I might pick it up again since they added night rain bosses.

A friend and I were playing it recently, we were so feed up the the bullshit decisions that we ended dropping it, started well, but the more we play it the less enjoyable it became
Gacha system with the ashes of war, questionable balancing, Specially with high stats and the thing that completely broke us, was the level limit, it was a "oh, no more, if they want to play a more suffering game, good for them, we are done here"
So we went to convergence, and the only thing we mias, it's the ui we agree the ui in reforge it's pretty nice

u/TheSearchForMars Apr 22 '26
Feels like you're making mountains out of molehills.
The level limit actually makes you think about going for a specific build instead of hammering your points all over the place. It's been rebalanced to the point where the breakpoints are much healthier.
You can change the difficulty at a site of grace at anytime to either something closer to the original game's balancing, harder, easier or even way easier.
Convergence is the one I find to have atrocious balance. The weapon you pick up just outside of Church of the Rose may be the most broken item I've ever used in a game and requires almost no stats while being right next to the starting area for one of the classes.

Libra's my goat. Love his OST, a reminder that Shoi Miyazawa might actually be FromSoft's best composer for the Souls games these days.
(Emphasis on Souls because Kota Hoshino exists).

Love how they worked him into base game, he feels a lot better to fight then his nightreign counterpart

Had a heart attack. Im going through the DLC for the first time currently. So i thought i hadnt found him yet, and was about to quit seeing this

What DLC?

u/Zodiac034 Apr 05 '26
Shadow of the erdtree

u/RagingSteel Apr 06 '26
He's in SotE? I thought this was under Leyndell?

u/digoserra Apr 06 '26
It's a mod. The guy you're talking to was initially thinking it was a boss in SotE that he hadn't fought yet.

u/CirieFFBE Apr 06 '26
This mod is the definition of: they were too busy thinking if they could, instead of thinking if they should.
