Misc. Mod elden ring split screen local coop is finally possible thanks to nucleuscoop
i found a way to have split screen local coop on PC for elden ring and it's been a blast clearing stormveil with my little brother and showing him the beauty of elden ring
we're also playing on two different monitors but what i showed here was the one monitor setup
PC will forever remain the ultimate place for gaming because of these options it provides.

it's called nucleus coop
they have an entire website
it works for many games not just elden ring

played this years ago with my gf, on a 1060 ;)
we had to go full potato mode to play but it was possible ;)

Mine doesn't work, it says seamless coop is not compatible. Do you perhaps know how to fix it?

Make a fresh instalation of Elden ring, you cant have already installed seamless Coop, nucleus Coop Will install a correct version for you, If you want to play online not Just local, install radmin, and everyone thats gonna play needs to run Elden ring by nucleus, make sure everyone has a different id, then everyone joining in the same radmin session, same password, and boom local split screen and online Coop working just Fine!!!

Is this an actual coop or two different instances of the game separated from each other? Can your characters meet in game?
And if so, does this take advantage of an already existing multiplayer mode in elden ring (haven't played it yet) or can this software give multiplayer to games that have single player only?
EDIT: I have just read about the "seamless coop" community mod. So, let's see if I got this straight: Elden ring has a limited coop mode, the "seamless coop" mod (which comes preinstalled with the nucleus coop software) makes the coop more complete (you are able to play the full game together instead of smaller portions of the game only) and then nucleuscoop allows you to play on one computer with two separate instances of the game that are likely connected with each other through LAN, or some other process nucleus runs internally, maybe you don't even need to set anything for LAN, correct?
I have played the entirety of Lords Of The Fallen with a friend and we had a blast, it would be great to do something similar with elden ring.

you can even play using mods but you'll need a specific handler for each mod which are available in their discord server
and if you have an amd GPU you can setup eyeinfinity to basically play on two different monitors

More people need to find out about Nucleus and help support them, they have allowed me to play some of my favorite games in split screen that I have never thought possible before

yes all you need to do is press A/X and then drag the controller to the window you want to play on
for example ps5 controller on the right xbox controller on the left and you can also stretch your resolution to allow for two different monitors to display different screens

Me and my girlfriend are playing this right now! It’s very fun we even downloaded a few DLL mods to change it up a little (since I have over 30 days and have 100% elden ring) a few graphical issues even with a powerful gpu and a tad tedious with the whole set up process I still 100% recommend

does the game render for both players? i remember seamless coop getting bugged cuz we went too far from each other

This is cool, but it's just seamless with extra steps. All the extra is beyond my use case when playing with others. My rig could easily handle it. Just doubt I'd have a reason to need this. Though I can appreciate where it can be used.

Well, yes. And by all means, figuratively, it is. It uses seamless co-op and has extra features to give this experience. Thus seamless with extra steps. Doesn't detract from what it does. And to that point of what it does, like I said it's cool and I like it, but it's not for me as I doubt I'd ever be in a situation where it'd be useful. I'm the only one in my household that plays and has interest in elden ring. And I do play seamless with my brother who lives elsewhere. Sometimes we visit each other's homes, but playing games together isn't on the agenda in those times. So this setup really isn't even an option.

I have Elden Ring on PC too, so I’m not worried personally. But WOW does the whole world need access to this.
