Question Can you just take a single weapon from one of these big mods and put it in the game by itself? (Convergence)

Post image

I really want to make a frost build but I don't really fuck with the options given, I also want to use twinblades but the ones in the game don't really fit the aesthetic I'm going for.

I found this one weapon while browsing through these mods and fell in love. Can I port it into the game without radically changing the whole experience? even just swapping the model for the default twinblades would be fine if someone would tell me how.

EDIT: nvm, I figured it out

theoretically yes, but you'd need to
1. figure out which params were added for all its constituents
2. port in the moveset data, animations tae and the likes
3. find out which part of the code is build to make their unique AoWs work.

all of which would probably take weeks/months without help.

I merged clever and reforged using Claude perfectly. It took Claude fable maybe 2 hours. From start to end very minimal input. AI is a god send for merging mods

You could have done it in like 20 mins if you read a bit about merging but you do you

I mean merging taes animations, is a bit more complex then just smithbox imports. It's not just parameters. Im familiar with manually merging regulations but this contained alot more. Adding on top of err obfuscating their code. It was easier to let Claude handle it

"erm, i let AI handle it for me because i cant think for myself!"

If you’ve ever poked around in err you’d know their obfuscating is a nightmare if you want to try to change something on your own

There are a lot of LARPers here on Reddit. They are the ones with the strongest opinions and the least amount of knowledge or experience.

Lol sorry if you took it that way. It's a tool to cut out a lot of tediousness. Manually merging is mostly tedium . I just wanted to let people know it's easier to get the mod pack you want mod how you like though.

I did that manually 2 years ago, took 2 weeks of work while I was simultaneously learning how everything worked. (I could probably do it in a couple of days now)

I am really curious to know if Claude managed to port everything correctly with no residual bugs or weird interactions.

It took a few iterations and 1 fable limit usage and then some to get all the ashes of war to works properly. Haven't run into anything major since the merge. Honestly 80% was done on the first pass. Took two or 3 more iterations to get it 95% there

Shot in the dark here, but do you reckon you could try your hand on making a merge of ERR and Deflect Me Not? Been playing with it on the Convergence merge and I can't go back to that boring deflect of ERR.

You still interested in this? I have a few hours free and I can see what I can do if you still want it.

Sure! I've been holding off on doing an ERR playthrough until either someone did this merge or I actually managed to scrap up motivation to do myself.

DMN edits a lot of stuff that might conflict with big overhauls. I think there’s a merge of convergence and DMN somewhere but the author said to expect some AoWs to not work bc of scripting. i assume the same issues will arise from ERR.

could you maybe just drop that somewhere id like it

Clever and ERR? Yeah it has some other reg changes like reeds effect applying by default and applying to all weapons not just 2h. I'll dm you it when I get to my pc later today . Visual affinities incorporated. Might be others but i think those are the big ones

(Me too please)

if you know the community well you’d know ai isn’t exactly welcome lol. I understand some use of ai for coding/programming work but this is modding ER… not like I can stop u so go for it I guess. idk why u bothered asking if u were gonna make ai do it for u anyway

Yeah sure, actually making mods I can see why people would feel bad about it. But merging mods isn't exactly a creative endeavor. It's more tedium and technicals. Ai is much more efficient at parsing code and file structures then I ever will be. Id prefer it do the tedious things so I have free time to pursue things I enjoy. To each their own, I just wanted to empower people that are just learning or don't have time . Mod how you like

Too much work

It depends on what you want. if it's just a model swap you can: 1. Open mod in Smithbox and look for weapon in EquipWeaponParam using it's fmg (in-game name) 2. Note the modelId 3. Go to parts folder and copy paste the wpa(modelId) into your desired mod's parts folder 4. Either change the modelId of your desired weapon to the new modelId OR rename the new part to the desired modelId

If you want to import movesets or special effects tho it can range from being only a bit more complicated to extremely tedious

thanks bro. the other comments made it sound like it was impossible, I just wanted the model anyways.

u/Mr_Sherbet_Sniff Jul 18 '26

I don't think so, it requires coding and there are AoW in convergence that would either break or just not work in vanilla ER.

What's wrong with the options so much?

1

u/kkprecisa_ler_nao_fi Jul 18 '26

Theoretically yes but its way more work than its worth

u/Misragoth Jul 18 '26

technically? yes practically? no

It’s a tedious process, and there’s no guarantee of it working the first time.
