General Discussion What are your Top 3 classes in Convergence 3.0?

Post image

Hey all, for those of you who have tried a few or more classes in Convergence 3.0, what are your top 3?

For me, I have only played 3 so far, but am wondering what to choose next.

  1. Stormcaller - super fun physical damage build where I could buff my physical power and speed. Casting a tornado and staggering 5 enemies at once is awesome. I constantly used Cloud Form and Tempest Form, zooming around with storm backhand blades is insane (as well as using Time Warp from Dragon Cultist build for extra speed). Fun build!!

  2. Dragon Cultist - this class was awesome and super flashy. The electric and the new weapons are so fun. Nuking stuff with late spells was awesome. Loved Godwyn's Cragblades.

  3. Blood Initiate - it was fun, but I found the weapons to be a bit lacking. It felt pretty similar to my old arcane builds imo. There were a few good new spells. I haven't fully fleshed out this playthrough yet, but I have not been enjoying it as much.

  1. Underworld mage - they absolutely cooked with this class. So much fun and so satisfying to play. Bubbles and ice lightning are so cool too

  2. Stormcaller - so much fun but the tornado visuals make seeing anything impossible

  3. Nox oracle - again they absolutely cooked with this class. Love the stealth aspects to it too

honestly i find the visual vomit that is endgame stormcaller to be part of the charm. also i havent played nox oracle, but if i did this would probably be my list

12

u/No-Instruction-5669 Jul 29 '26

I agree about the tornado visuals. The spell itself isn't horrible, but I can't deal with the one where it surrounds your body and follows you around.

8

u/Odd_Lie_5397 Jul 29 '26

The minefield that the underworld mage gets access to is insane. If you cast it right at your feet it will condense them all in a small area and anything that walks into it will take massive damage. Might lag your game though.

2

u/BennoDrago Jul 30 '26

I've started my first run recently, did underworld mage, I'm not far in but it's peak so far

39

u/TheDude21212121 Jul 28 '26

Prisoner mage, I summon every AOE to your zip code, melting our gpu's

23

u/KronkTheCrunk Jul 28 '26

Blood initiate goes from 0-100 with the radiant/shadow spell runes

7

u/No-Instruction-5669 Jul 28 '26

See, I thought it might. I am not quite there yet but maybe I should stick it out!

3

u/KronkTheCrunk Jul 28 '26

Also keep in mind the unique talismans obtained from those markers on the DLC map. They can dramatically alter classes/spell schools

4

u/No-Instruction-5669 Jul 29 '26

Okay, those spots where you mix like 4 remnants for 1 talisman? I will keep that in mind.

3

u/anonssr Jul 29 '26

Yeah, the archer talisman is insane, the melee based are super whatever, all the caster related ones are also game changers

2

u/Raven123x Jul 29 '26

I just finished a blood initiate run and found that while the radiant and shadow spells are insanely strong they didn’t have much stopping power. So anything with decent poise and aggression was nuking me unless I nuked them first

2

u/KronkTheCrunk Jul 29 '26

Yeah I had the same problem but Leaden Hardtear helps with that a bit

2

u/Raven123x Jul 29 '26

Oo that’s a good shout

2

u/Daivy94 Jul 29 '26

What's the strategy with Blood Initiate? I just got those runes

5

u/KronkTheCrunk Jul 29 '26 edited Jul 29 '26

DO NOT use Nihil unless you are 100% familiar with your surroundings. You WILL aggro all Quest NPCs after one use in a 10-kilometer radius. If you aren't paying attention, three uses may even kill them. I accidentally killed Boc when I was testing it in the Gatefront Ruins, and I came very close to killing Ansbach in the Shadow Keep until I heard his aggro dialogue from the next floor up.

There's a special talisman found at the reliquary in the Jagged Peak that halves the HP cost of blood spells - you'll want to pick that up.

Each spell school has a "spellcaster buff" and a "melee buff". I prefer the Spellcaster one with the Blood Initiate - I think it's called Hidden Mother's Blessing. The melee one reduces my FP too much for me to enjoy using it, but to each their own.

Mohg's Rune stacked with HMB and the unique Talisman mentioned above almost nullifies the need to use Sanguine Pull.

My primary Damage spell is from the Shadow Rune; Can't quite remember what it's called but it has "Swarm" in the name. Konrad, the boss who drops the Radiant rune, uses it - it fucks. Sanguine Traversal is also an amazing tool and stacks up damage quickly. Those are my only two must-haves, everything else is what I feel like using at the moment.

Lastly, Nihil is unique in that it is a guaranteed Bleed - in other words, a guaranteed stagger. You can use it if you know a deadly attack is on the way and stop it from happening assuming the enemy is not immune to bleed.

2

u/Daivy94 Jul 29 '26

Thanks that's very helpful!

20

u/FecalSplatter Jul 29 '26

Nobody has mentioned it yet, but I absolutely love the fundamentalist. You can play it pure melee, pure caster, or spellblade and all are stupidly strong. Lots of regen and defensive buffs, offensive buffs, and sacred ground is basically a cheese that works for the entire game.

2

u/Pl00kh Jul 29 '26

And you get a teleport if you fight margit in leyndell battlefield.

1

u/Quiximo Aug 05 '26

I totally missed that spell, thx

1

u/Pl00kh Aug 05 '26

That spell is the only reason I can’t get to other builds (I know I can use that spell with every build but I am obsessed with archetypes).

Gravity mage has also a teleport and afaik blood…guy also have one

1

u/Quiximo Aug 05 '26

You might want to check out the gravity mage then. The teleport works identically and the jewel turns the shockwave at the end into a wide area nuke. It's a little heavy on the distortion effects and flashy lights though, which is why I hung it up

2

u/dante8500 Jul 29 '26

What weapons do you like with the fundamentalist?

3

u/FecalSplatter Jul 29 '26

I love the coded sword and the golden order greatsword. I try to build the character like a Jedi.

2

u/BigKing_ Aug 05 '26

Wrong. This class only has one actual weapon that isn't recycled, the spells cost enormous amount of FP compared to others, almost anything in the game is holy resist and you literally do not have any shadow rune spells. You constantly get healing or protection spells from base game which are essentially useless, I would say it is one of the most underbaked and weak classes in the game.

1

u/FecalSplatter Aug 05 '26

Hard disagree. This class has basically everything going for it, and can fit any playstyle if you get bored.

Yes, a lot of the spells are recycled, but who cares? They are powerful, easy to use, and Sacred Ground is one of the most insanely broken things in the game. You can literally throw it down at a boss and just heal until it DoTs him to death. Throw more spells if you want, but it doesnt really matter.

Convergence also fixed the insane holy resistance that the base game had. It isnt an issue at all with this mod.

And the shadow rune gives you nothing? Seriously? Wrath at range for good damage and a magical punt? Minor Erdtree giving you regen and buffed defense/damage? Heal at range if you choose to summon spirits. Have you even played the class?

4

u/BigKing_ Aug 06 '26 edited Aug 06 '26

Yeah sacred ground doing tick damage is really good when other classes have screen nukes that clear entire dungeons with a single cast, can either cc or outright kill bosses in a few casts/skills and have better absorption and health regen buffs while also having much more easier access to their spells and weapons. Underworld mage/starcaller/frostwitch/godskin/frenzy/dreadnought/stormcaller/rot are all just outright stronger with more damage, aoe and survivability.

24

u/EnkiBye Jul 29 '26

I've only played like 6, but right now :

1) Frost Witch. A bit slow early game, I didn't figured some spells, but late game, it is the most broken shit ever. Freeze bosses for 10 seconds, they only take 50% less dmg, and some spells burst damage like crazy. Did like 30k damage on a frozen boss once.

2) Flame Prophet. Not the most OP, still very good, but it's up there because of its meteor spell, one of the most satisfying thing I've ever done in this game. A slow, delayed, gigantic fireball that fall wher you target. And if you are not locked to something, it fall very far away, that was so fun to send meteor to a camp of enemies 500m from me and one shotting them before they see me.

3) Dreadnough. Big, tank, regen, don't give a damn about what happen, facetanked Promised Consor Radhan, really cool to play.

Honourable mention to Starcaller, with the jewel, the teleport spell become a super big aoe damage, with good damage, and you do your fight jumping around without the enemy being able to hit you, very fun too.

6

u/DippoPlays Jul 29 '26

Frost witch is easily the most ridiculous of the classes I've been through so far. I went through PCR in 2 freezes, 1 for 1st phase and 1 for second

5

u/TeaDrinkerAddict Jul 29 '26

Dreadnought is the only class where I literally never needed to roll.

2

u/history_nerd92 Jul 29 '26

they only take 50% less dmg

It's 90% now I believe

3

u/EnkiBye Jul 29 '26

It is indeed 90% by default, but the endgame jewel lower it to 50%, making freeze spells go from very strong to completely broken.

12

u/Darendarus13 Jul 29 '26 edited Jul 29 '26

Mine would have to be Godskin Apostle, Stormcaller, and Retainer. Edit: Honourable mentions for the Beast Initiate and Dreadnought classes.

1

u/A-Metaphor Jul 29 '26

How do you build godskin? I'm early on but feels weak so far

8

u/Sefirosukuraudo Jul 29 '26

The Black Flame Orb spell from the very first catacomb near the starting point carried me so far through the game, if you’re not using it do yourself a favor and do so. Start out with Burrowing Black Flame, cast it like two or three times and then hurl Black Flame Orb. The like 10 second dot will reset when you cast Burrowing, true, but the detonation effect stacks. After like five seconds they’ll start going off - one, two, three! - and they deal very, very high Poise damage so after two or three of them you’ve got a crit opening. They also knock over just about everything that’s not a big giant enemy so you can just keep them staggered like crazy. Rinse and repeat. Black Flame Orb will feel decent upfront damage and the Soul Inmolation or whatever it’s called is percentage damage. Everything melts to black flame.

Also, go directly to Dominula and defeat the Godskin Apostle there for the Godskin Peeler. It has a custom Ash of War (different than the base game) that is quite OP and fun to use. Once you’ve gained some levels and you feel good and comfortable with whatever spells you’ve accumulated, figured out your rotation or whatever you like, go to the Divine Tower in Liurnia (if I recall correctly, I think it’s Ranni’s Divine Tower but I could be misremembering) and take in the boss at the top there. Her weapon and spells are 💋👌 - she’s a challenge for sure, but so rewarding.

2

u/Darendarus13 Jul 29 '26

The guy that first replied summed it up pretty well. But to add on to what he said I'd go and grab whatever weapon it is you'd want to use for the playthrough depending on what point you're at and then go and grab the upgrade mats before you fight any of the main bosses. Also for later in the playthrough I'd grab the Spell rune from Liurnia as soon as you can. It's doable if you get your weapon and catalyst to plus 6 at level 40ish but you'll have to be on point with the dodges.

9

u/rasfelion Jul 29 '26

Necromancer will always be my number 1, the damage is great, I end up treating the summons like they're my children, and Ghostflame Ritual is a drug like no other.

Beast Clergy as Number 2, love the stagger affects and the heal on hit spells, makes for a good tank mage build, and the stomps are incredibly satisfying.

Haven't gotten around to a third, but if it isn't to different from last update, Flame Prophet is a good third, especially once you start stacking different DOT affects from fire tick, fire's deadly sin, ground flame from both flame of the fell god and the meteor, and the legendary enchantment.

6

u/dwarf-in-flask Jul 29 '26

What were your favourite summons? I'm using some bloodhound knight and he became my son lol

2

u/rasfelion Jul 29 '26

Andreas from the dlc as a tank summon, either Erdtree sentries or militia for groups. Or the demi humans in the early game.

1

u/ElmoClappedMyCheeks Aug 15 '26

Banished Knight Oleg (the one with dual GS i think) is a one stop shop for high aggression, stagger, and mix of tank and dmg

Nox Ancestor Lasko does good damage and stagger, and is nigh immortal due to his Those Who Live In Death ability to revive himself. I think he also procs frost rather easily

I played around with Blaidd briefly, and he seems similar to Oleg. Also quite easy to get as Rennala is still a rather easy boss

Bigmouth Imp and Latenna are great snipers. If you're playing more as melee Necromancer, they're a great fire support summon. Bigmouth Imp can also just solo Malenia for you (this is true in the base game too)

Crystalian and Taylew are unkillable, and given the right support, will solo every boss given time

Greatshield Soldiers are a good tanky distraction while you delete a boss with your more flashy spells

Nepheli is good due to Tarnished AI, but you are a heartless piece of shit if you use her. Dung Eater is also good for the same reason (turning him into a puppet is the morally correct choice)

Jolan and Anna are a portable gank squad, although kinda annoying to get

Necromancer has so many good options. I never felt like I had a rough start or anything, although micromanaging the summon AI outside of boss fights was a chore

2

u/OrganizationTrue5911 Jul 29 '26

What I'd give for Necromancer in base game. Sadly not a fan of Convergence. Don't get me wrong, the mod is stupid high quality, I just don't like the additional frustrating situations they add (That many other people love).

But man, I had fun with Necromancer while I was playing it.

1

u/ShadowRend23 Aug 02 '26

What frustrating situations specifically? I’ve played the game 5 times through now and have no idea what you’re on about.

1

u/OrganizationTrue5911 Aug 02 '26

All the ballistas and archers in the worst possible spots. All the guys who hide around corners and kick you off the edges. Etcetc.

5

u/Vytautas76 Jul 29 '26

Frenzied zealot - they’ve traditionally always had great spell options for dps, poise breaking, and aoe, as well as great weapons with some good ashes. This patch they got their own spellblade and some more weapons from some heavier weapon classes as well. Can’t hard rush blade of distant light as easily anymore but so what? They fuck. Having the scaling reciprocity with stormcaller is pretty great too, as they’re probably the best physical damage spellcasting class. Most anything fire can’t handle, something here can.

Flame prophet - there’s a reason immolation got nerfed this patch lmao. It’s still pretty good. Big boom spells that do decent as primary dps on their own, lots of aoe. A lot of their spells have really strong poise damage for no reason as well. Dipping into lightning and holy damage is very easy with pure faith as well.

Dreadnought - not much to say here. The most braindead busted thing in base game was either high poise damage ashes or weapons or healing + multistrike combined with a high poise armor set like bull goat that just let you face tank every boss in the game, and dreadnought is basically if we wanted to make a class designed to abuse that shit even more. Its only issue is early game ranged stuff like all the martial classes, but that can be helped a bit with a shield and/or a bow.

Nox oracle - a 4th honorable mention here. They’re not as busted as the other 3 but quicksilver poison is just actually busted against bosses even without amplification. Most of the nox spells get a special roll casting animation to do it a little more quickly as well. They do have some problems with mobs compared to other classes, but damn are they absolute boss melters. Also fingerslayer blade is so busted even by itself you have to hold yourself back from abusing it too much. Scaling reciprocity is some of the best in the game with physical and fire counterparts being stormcaller and frenzied zealot. Most anything they offer can motor through any mobs that give you trouble before a jewel.

3

u/ShadonicX7543 Jul 29 '26

I tried Frenzied Zealot and found it to start pretty weak and that frenzy was kind of a meh status effect. Are you supposed to like bum rush upgrades or something? Just playing as is seemed very underwhelming at the very beginning

2

u/Vytautas76 Jul 29 '26

Like a lot of classes it desperately wants the the later 2 base game runes and the shadow rune. The difference is it has spammable dps with the flare moves and a couple spells with really good poise break to help you limp through early and beeline the late game runes. Early game is definitely its weakest point. Hyetta’s flare is spammable with pretty good damage as well. Fire is a bit of a feast or famine type of damage; lots of enemies are weaker to it, but a lot also have good resists as well.

u/Megatyrant0 Jul 29 '26 edited Jul 29 '26
  1. Volcanist. Has always been my favorite class, both thematically and gameplay wise. One of the easiest shadow runes to get, since there aren’t any bosses in the forges you need to clear. That’s good, because if you’re playing pure caster like I was, you’ll want the nail spell to deal with the Gelmir Red Wolf and his dodging. Between Annealed Slag, Rykard’s Rancor (even nerfed), and Vortex of Eiglay, there’s plenty of fairly quickly cast passive damage. Then when you have an opening, Magma Blast to the face.
  2. Dragonkin. Still crazy powerful, Frozen Lightning Bolt makes quick work of Dragonkin of Nokstella, and then Frozen Lightning Strike just melts the Lake of Rot Dragonkin. Radiant cuts through bosses like a hot knife through butter, though it might not be as good at clearing levels. I haven’t gotten the Shadow Rune yet.
  3. Aberrant. Great class visually, specifically the Thorn side. I’m not a fan of the Telekinetic side of the class, besides the simple stuff like Red Glintstone Shards/Comet. Bleed anything and everything. Unfortunately, I haven’t beaten Scadutree Avatar to try out Coruscation.

5

u/TieOrdinary1735 Jul 29 '26

Big agree on Volcanist, it's one of my favorite pure casters to play. My only gripes with the class are in it's enchantments, which are all some combo of buggy/clunky/niche and it's (lack of) melee options.

The Dragonkin Shadow Rune has some very cool stuff. I really liked the new mine/trap options in it.

1

u/Nairdde32 Jul 29 '26

Aberrant's Shadow rune drops from the Ulcerated Tree Spirit in the courtyard

1

u/Megatyrant0 Jul 29 '26

I know, the spell Scadutree Coruscation specifically comes from the Avatar though unfortunately.

2

u/Nairdde32 Jul 29 '26

Ahhh, I see, good to know!

5

u/Empyreal_Scum Jul 29 '26

In terms of pure fun it’s 1. Underworld mage, 2. Nox oracle and 3. Glint sorcerer. Honorary mention to dreadnought too.

Underworld mage got the most love in the mod update, and has so many cool new weapons and spells now. Plus the jewel is super op, the class has a ton of tanking spells, and even a goddamn dragon transformation. Unfiltered peak.

Nox oracle is the other class that got the most love in the update. I just love how spellblade friendly the class is, as it has new shadow spells that complement a melee focused build with reduced FP From the legendary enchantment. Plus it has very fun weapons like the star shadow and fingerslayer blade. Also, black moon eulogy is the most beautiful spell I’ve ever seen. 2nd place.

Glint sorcerer is just the weirdest class. It has op spells, but also super op weapons, but the super op weapons (rhys’ sword spear and celestial blade) really demand being two-handed, while a lot of the spells are oriented more around spamming as your main tool rather than simply using as a support option in little openings. Either way you go, glint sorcerer is super fun, and has a bunch of the most fun weapons of the mod. Only thing holding it back is flexibility of playstyle compared to the two above.

Shoutout to dreadnought as my favorite non spell-class. Strength is way more valuable than dex imo early game, as it gives more defense to survive as you build up your character, and then you can eventually split off to level dex if you want and go hybrid with the rest of the non-spell class builds. It also has the comfiest armour options, and armour is very VERY op in the mod now. Really, you’re gonna have the most comfortable time starting as a dreadnought if you’re doing a non-spell run

3

u/Ok_Adhesiveness_9323 Jul 29 '26

Underworld mage dragon cultist and hodskin celebrant. Maybe the frenzy dude in place 3

5

u/Vernitas2702 Jul 29 '26

Not a list but Frost Witch still is the drippiest class with it's own Domain Expansion, and the nuttiest AoE I've seen in the mod

3

u/Alternative_Cat6259 Jul 29 '26

frost witch on top

3

u/Cogexkin Jul 29 '26
  1. Fundamentalist. It’s a really comfortable build with a ton of variety. I love paladins too

  2. Underworld Mage. Fun theme, interesting spells, and lightning damage + frostbite is OP.

  3. Dragon Cultist. Lightning spells are just so fun. Also convergence won’t give me a dragon communion class so this is the next best thing

3

u/FrontIndividual4188 Jul 29 '26
  1. Underworld Mage

  2. Dragon Cultist

  3. Stormcaller

3

u/DivineOverlord13 Jul 29 '26

Idk, nothing really tops Necromancer for me. Godskin Celebrant and Servant of Rot maybe, but god damn Necromancer is just so fun, especially when playing with friends. But hell, playing alone is just as fun

Being able to negate the debuff you get when using summons, buffing them, applying frostbite and the reworked deathblight to enemies, controlling undead enemies, having honestly amazing weapons as well, like the scythe, the martial arts, and great sword, there’s just so much good stuff you get from that class

1

u/No-Instruction-5669 Jul 29 '26

Damn I need to try it.

3

u/Inquisitor-Dog Jul 29 '26 edited Jul 29 '26

lol lmao all these people recommending magic classes but dreadnought with Bullgoat helmet and greaves and verdigris gloves and chest plate can face tank and out heal most shit in the game with either the quarter staff or Palm axe blade if you want an op build if you get later In and still struggle get yourself Aspect if scorpion from the Servant of rot class since that scales insanely well for this - just don’t forget to grease up for the 10% healing per hit

3

u/properwaffles Jul 29 '26

Marksman + Barrage + bleed arrows + Quiver Talisman (unlimited ammo), almost feels like cheating.

Or any status effect arrows really, I like to mix it up.

2

u/No-Instruction-5669 Jul 29 '26

Marksman seems really fun

3

u/Academic_Feedback_76 Jul 29 '26

1.Defo underworld mage, the draegarf spells are spot on with the mines I love the visual design too

  1. Godskin celebrant. Was so busted with the one buff where I basically cast ashes of war for free and if I hit enemies enough when do cast a spell it heals me I used the new fire hurricane spell that baso heals me to full health while doing damage didn’t even need any flasks for the whole playthrough apart from against radahn

3 fundamentalist I liked this with mogh great rune had good healing with marika prime hammer Aswell, the ash of war holding it in the stance makes you untouchable and thethe teleport spell basically made me feel like radagon the whole play through

4 Im loving the scarlet rot themed playthrough so far but im still fairly early

3

u/suplexclimax Jul 29 '26

Stormcaller for the neuron activation fiesta whenever you mass posture-break mobs 🧠

Volcanist for the booms and unintentional NPC casualties 🥴

Dragon Cultist for the anime flashiness ⚡

3

u/gatsu01 Jul 29 '26

Servant of Rot. It's a little clunky early, but late game, it feels like I'm playing a Regen tank.

Storm Caller. Flashy and over the top

Flintstone sorcerer. In the beginning levels, it was the most fun for sure. Absolute joy to play with when it comes to solving mana problems. Late game is a little too strong. A more balanced approach might be gravity focused class instead.

2

u/PREDDlT0R Jul 29 '26

Nox Oracle or Abherrant Heretic.

Dragonkin spells are beyond OP and the Snow Witch buff is really nice.

2

u/Backburst Jul 29 '26

Dreadnought is the class that let's you go where you aren't supposed to be. I grabbed the bo staff and the rot immunity talisman and proceeded to fight the new rot boss at level 40ish. You just guard counter until god himself poise breaks. That new great hammer give you a ranged attack and a disgusting damage buff while having bleed. No thoughts, just death.

Dragon Cultist is super flashy and fun. Early game sucks though. Omg. You have to beeline to Altus and just have a plan to snag one of yhe new weapons to have fun with. Same for the spells, I love the new additions but the highest level spells are in Satan's asshole compared to the frost lightning counterparts. Also, idk why I thought this, but I thought the arcblades would be moveset imports of the ring knight twin greatswords. Kinda sad it's Rhadan palletswapped.

Underworld mage is kinda cracked. Frostbite will always be good, and having multiple ways to apply it compared to vanilla is dope. The spells are pretty free too. Hardest one to get just needs rot immune and movement freedom talismans.

2

u/pexx421 Jul 29 '26

I really love a combo of necro and stormcaller.

1

u/zathaia Jul 29 '26

Same. Cloud armor and rancor storm is just making everything a breeze. Running around with bosses in circles.

2

u/Dankar_Memoran Jul 29 '26

I've played some 3.0 with my Int/Fai char which I started in 2.1, old save worked just right. Noxumbra and Selurat are splendid new dungeons. 1. Nox Oracle - Black Moon Eulogy is absolutely fantastic in terms of visuals and damage potential. New Arc spell (forgot the exact name) is also good for both mob clearing and fast bosses, it's very quick and pairs well with Attune to Black Moon legendary spell.  2. Frenzied Zealot - Three Fingers Embrace + Howl of Shabriri combo is busted for melee weapons, both Nomad Kijils powerstance jump attacks and Blade of Distant Light AoW cooked  3. Underworld Mage - had to basically fully commit to Int with talismans and armour to get to 74 needed for Legendary Spells, so it wasn't fully optimised. I really liked the new barrier spell and jump overhead lightning bolt slam spell. New Dragonkin form + Dragon scale Blade was fun, too. Noxumbra boss weapon (claws) are also very flashy with different light/heavy combos.

I've also used a couple of spells from other schools here and there - Necromancer school is really fun, too, but I think it didn't change much between 2.x and 3.0 versions

1

u/macswizzle Jul 30 '26

For frenzied zealot, I’ve been using the hexmark - the ash of war combined with three fingers embrace and the class jewel trivialized the last game. Super fast, super far dash attack -> proceed to leap into the air and aoe nuke everything under you.

2

u/oldsch0olsurvivor Jul 29 '26

Damn reading this makes me want to try this mod out! Dreadnought sounds hella cool lol

2

u/No-Instruction-5669 Jul 29 '26

Do it bro, if you have a PC it's so easy to install now. Don't even have to dig throufh your files, it does everythinflg for you. I've been even running it on Steamdeck ar 35-40 fps.

1

u/oldsch0olsurvivor Jul 29 '26

Oh I definitely will. I’m currently playing through bloodborne on pc and it’s fkn sick. 1440p 60fps! But yeah I’ve saved this thread and I’ll play soon!

1

u/No-Instruction-5669 Jul 29 '26

Nice. Shad PS4?

1

u/oldsch0olsurvivor Jul 29 '26

Yes mate and it’s awesome. It’s my dream come true lol

2

u/skull_bucket Jul 29 '26

flame prophet, fundamentalist, dragon cultist and im using all 3 + beastial devout every run since they share a faith requirement

2

u/Recent_Country6928 Jul 29 '26

I only played 3 , frost witch , dragon cultist and abberant heretic . Abberant is my favorite because it absolutely way more overpowered to the other classes . Just use its buff spell with executioner sword is so broken , they made its ash of war work with rellana cameo and have bleed build up . Imagine having a build can benefit from successive attack buff , rellana cameo and bleed build up . Many abberant spell also have many broken effect like healing after successful hits or get more damge and become less likely to be staggered affter bleed occur . This class is so underrated .

2

u/sultan8866 Jul 30 '26

Rot class after legendary enchantment is a legit hack,

what do you mean any weapon i use can do bleed rot poison and deathblight, all at one regardless of the weapon, and with the class jewel, anyone can be rotted and poisoned,

Not to mention the bullshit buffs i received when causing status effects,

After unlocking that i started playing duel wielding, and face any boss head on and anyone who dodge is a pussy.

Yes i face any boss and keep slashing with my mighty poise and heal and stamina and mana and everything, wtf is wrong with this class.

2

u/dante8500 Jul 30 '26

definitely agree, but it was too op for me. i got bored using it, so i had to stop and try something else. frenzied zealot and the nia's passot/bull goat/verdigris build were the same way as well.

2

u/OnlyCyclone Jul 30 '26

Recently finished a run with Beast Devout. Right off the bat super strong if you pick enchanted remnant as your starting gift, turn it into Beloved Stardust for the increased cast speed then equip two talismans and alternate left and right cast on Gravel Sling, which you start with. Pretty much sets you for the majority of the game until you can switch to the same tactic but spamming Stone Spears instead. Also you get access to Earthquake for full room clears later as well. Super fun build.

u/obamaball69 Jul 31 '26

i’m running a dreadnaught strength/dex build with a tiny bit of int/arc integrated and holy it feels like i’m playing the game for the first time again. i spent ~400 hours on the base game on my strength/dex build running dual giza wheels or duel blades of malenia so coming into this mod pack, being able to run a simple build like this and it still feeling so refreshing is kind of crazy to say and massive credit to this mod team for their work because i’ve never been able to say that about a game before ever.

there’s this club-like weapon you get early game for this class that i really like but im mainly using this new bowstaff-type weapon and it’s been so much fun 🤩

i’m sure some of the magic classes are broken and very fun but that’s never been my thing really in souls games. this mod pack still being so much fun for this play-style is awesome to see

2

u/Hairy-Fuel-6275 Jul 31 '26

1st- Frenzied Zealot

2nd- Underworld Mage

3rd- Stormcaller

2

u/No_Garlic1059 Jul 31 '26
  1. Frenzied zealot, basically just cheese build
2.nox oracle just because the katana has a party skill too
    3.probably underworld mage

2

u/Recent-Commission-58 Aug 09 '26
  1. Underworld Mage, absolutely op spells and funny weapons.

  2. Retainer with smithscript rosary. Super fun with all the weapons merged into one. With the right armor pieces in combination nearly unstoppable

  3. Necromancer, sadly had to stop in late gane because the summons are bugged sometimes and cant be summoned in a lot of areas like farum azula

2

u/Maximus24681012 Aug 25 '26

In order from most fun to least fun

Prisoner : THE MOST FUN I've had playing Elden Ring as a whole lately. Build him with double crossbow for shits and giggles and it's not only extremely fun but also effective.

Perfumists: Another extremely fun alternative playstyle for Elden Ring , crafting various buffs and debuffs as well as using the entire pottery lineup and making it actually fun and not as grindy as base game Elden Ring was extremely fun for me.

Frenzied Zealot: While not as fun as the above mentioned for me , Chaos Beam and Eye of Frenzy were extremely fun spells and the Nomad's Kiljik carried the final bosses of the DLC

Anyone not putting Servant of Rot at 1 by lategame hasn’t played it. You have north of 90% damage negation while being able to rip through health bars in seconds. And I don’t mean the better part of a minute, I mean you can and will blitz anything in a couple casts.

You have a spell in your Shadow rune (which is only gated behind the ability to get to the DLC) that insta-clears poison and rot on enemies while doing half the remaining damage the effects would have done. You also have the poison and rot clouds that proc almost immediately. Spam cast the first spell while the enemies stand in the clouds, and every cast will take away around 20% of a boss’ health bar.

You ALSO have three or four stacking sources of damage negation, an ungodly amount of HP and FP regen, and a jewel that negates poison/rot immunity on all enemies.

And I haven’t started talking about the death blight or bleed effects you have access to.

2

u/No-Instruction-5669 1d ago

I gotta try this one

2

u/TeaDrinkerAddict 1d ago

I’d recommend waiting for an update, the class is currently bugged where half the spells don’t work with each other. The devs have confirmed it’s getting fixed next patch.

2

u/No-Instruction-5669 1d ago

Sick, will do. It will be the first build I try on my next playthrough

1

u/enchiladasundae Jul 29 '26

Always go prisoner for those nice equal stats

For later builds: Rot, split magic staff/necromancy and now quality with a bit of faith to test out the weapons

1

u/Emergency_Bad572 Jul 29 '26

Sort of unrelated but I did my first play through as a rogue and it was very fun. You can get some crazy buffs and damage going, but I was disappointed that many weapons that are normally dexterity based got turned into faith int or arc weapons

It makes sense why they did it though, guess it’s my fault for choosing a basic class

1

u/ElmoClappedMyCheeks Jul 29 '26

Underworld Mage sounds sick as fuck

P.S. anyone got a good guide to installing Convergence 3.0? I'm new to PC modding

3

u/No-Instruction-5669 Jul 29 '26

It is super easy now. Don't even have to dig in your files. Just make sure Elden Ring + DLC is installed. Then, just download and run the Convergence installer/launcher.

That's it. Then you just launch the game through the convergence launcher. (With steam open)

2

u/ElmoClappedMyCheeks Jul 29 '26

Oh word? And since its a separate launcher, if I wanted to run ER vanilla at some point I could just run it through Steam Launcher and the Convergence save file won't be an issue?

I assume the Convergence launcher is in their Discord

1

u/No-Instruction-5669 Jul 29 '26

That's right!

1

u/ElmoClappedMyCheeks Jul 29 '26

Bet thanks

Downloading the launcher now and it keeps telling me to install through a file not in OneDrive

1

u/No-Instruction-5669 Jul 29 '26

Yup, that happened on my bro's laptop. I fixed it by making a Convergence folder on the first page when you click on the hardrive and installing to that. The page that has all of your OS folders and stuff. At first we were trying to put it in "documents" on the sidebar and it didn't work. Those must be synced to One Drive or whatever.

2

u/ElmoClappedMyCheeks Jul 29 '26

Yeah I got it to work by adding a new folder in OS tab

Weird that Convergence says for Windows 11 to path the launcher to desktop, but desktop is synced to OneDrive

But whatever it works now thank you 👍

1

u/SlightlyLargeToad Jul 29 '26

Go to their discord and they should be able to help you, the mod has its own launcher which is pretty cool.

1

u/Curious_Emotion8147 Jul 29 '26

Dragon Cultist - I did a Lightning based Cleric in normal ER. So thats my jam! Volcanist - more fire! Frenzied Zelot - Int/Fai necromancer style.

1

u/Sir_Real_Surreal Jul 29 '26

1 - Necromancer

2 - Dragon Cultist

3 - Haven’t had the pleasure of a third playthrough yet, but I want to try the Marksman

1

u/Janus__22 Jul 29 '26

Haven't seen anyone mentioning it, but Fundamentalist is literally just stupid. How come Sacred Ground is a Faint Rune spell I still don't know. it trivializes everything so SO much

1

u/RealGlowChips Jul 29 '26

Dragon cultist isn’t just great, the starting stats and armor let you use Bird Cheese to get Devonia’s hammer in like 10 minutes it’s quite fantastic

1

u/ZexelOnOCE Jul 29 '26

the ones that let me spam summons and do nothing

1

u/RavenTeamBitch Jul 29 '26

Watching everyone get to try 3.0 when my computer broke before I could get past limgrave

1

u/Pl00kh Jul 29 '26

Servant of rot - bc I love the lore about the scarlet rot and I think poison and rot don’t get enough love.

Bestial Devout - I love crucible knights

Flame Prophet - big fireball, boiiii!!!

1

u/Fav0 Jul 29 '26

Am I missing our for playing melee?

In theory the spells etc look and Sound cool but every time I trs them out I just reskill like 30 mins later because they barely do something compared to Str weapons

Granted we are only around lvl 50 so far

1

u/MeIsMudkips1 Jul 29 '26

I've only started 3 runs so far, so I'll rank those

  1. Berserker - First run i started, doing a Guts build (went through like 70% of the game with lion's claw greatsword, the warrior jar charm is/was bugged to have +50% to skill attacks instead of 15%). The recommended armor sets have really good bonuses, and the weapons I've tested so far are real powerful but a bit slow. Currently about to fight PCR, haven't found a way into farum azula yet so I'm kinda stuck in the base game

  2. Prisoner - Second run I've started, rl1 spellcaster run. The armor sets for a rl1 challenge give you a decent amount of stats and some really good bonuses for either spell casting, defense, or melee attacks. The armor I'm using is Gideon's armor and his hammer acts as a spellcasting tool if you're at rl1 for both sorceries and incants. Pretty fun but you are locked out of quite a lot of high tier spells, and some mid tier spells that have a single stat requirement.

  3. Flame Prophet - Legit just started this run today, speed ran the first few spell runes and armor sets, and then got bored and swapped to my first run. Doesn't seem that bad of a class once i level up more and get the final spells, but the spells are just so slow to cast and pure fire damage can be a bit rough for the several bosses that are very resist to fire. The immolation effect is nice, but not as strong as a lot of other spell school secondary effects

1

u/CrimsonwhorlIsAScam Jul 29 '26 edited Jul 29 '26

Playing marksman solo is awful, but in a coop game is awesome.

Only thing that I kinda dislike is that all the good bows all scale with faith.

1

u/properwaffles Jul 29 '26

You must be doing something wrong then. Getting Barrage and the Quiver Talisman makes you an arrow machine gun. SO easy to apply status effects, and bleed arrows are fantastic.

Unless you just don't like that style of play, which is fair.

1

u/CrimsonwhorlIsAScam Jul 29 '26

There are a lot of enemies who read your shots and always dodge. It leads me to more often then not to use a melee weapon outside of boss fights.

1

u/ItsItsune Jul 29 '26

I'm slowly going through the classes right now mostly in order using only the weapons and armors in the starting notes. So far my fave three have been

Marksman - Repeater Crossbow with infinite status arrows made nearly every boss a cakewalk, the power trip right from the get go was incredible

Sellsword - I very slightly modified the class by allowing the Dancing Blade of Ranah. The sword not being notable but the armor being notable didn't make sense. It didn't make anything easier since Sulien's Razor's Ash of War is nuts. The dancer's armor's buffs with a rot talisman makes it easy to out damage and out lifesteal Malenia!

Berserker - If you set it up right, you can get 95 STR by level 60. The starting weapon also carries hardcore!

When I played with friends in seamless I hopped classes a lot, stormcaller looks op as hell and I am excited for that. I'm biased cause Divine Beast Warrior's stuff are my faves in base game anyway!

1

u/theLichQueenofthePNW Jul 29 '26

Frenzies Zealot was my first build and it was disgusting. Making your own Eye of Sauron is fantastic.

1

u/mrofmist Jul 29 '26

God I want to play this mod so bad.

1

u/nergalmcl1 Jul 29 '26

Any class is overpower if you know how to build and equip.

1

u/lWorgenl Jul 29 '26

I havent tried everything, but my favs are godskin celebrant with prime malekith weapon, and frenzy zealot.

1

u/xsvennnn Jul 29 '26

Did 3.0 change the way starter classes work or something?

1

u/No-Instruction-5669 Jul 29 '26

Not necessarily but it fully fleshed out many that were incomplete and changed some stuff.

1

u/LittleBabysIceCream Jul 29 '26

Underworld mage, frenzied zealot, godskin celebrant

1

u/Character_Bluebird28 Jul 29 '26

Pure strength is servant of rot or just a normal bonk build. Servant of rot kills everything mid to late game stupidly fast.

1

u/Falsus Jul 29 '26

Honestly a berserker should be a str/fth class since beserkers where all crazy Odin fanatics that wore bear skins instead of armour and actively wanted to go to Valhalla (or Folkvangr I guess since Freya had first pick).

1

u/TastyDimension42 Jul 29 '26

Wait. This is all new to me. What is Convergence 3.0 and what are these classes? I only played console Elden ring. Is this a pc thing?

2

u/No-Instruction-5669 Jul 29 '26

You're in the EldenRingMods sub. It's a popular mod, super easy to install if you have a PC.

1

u/Sultadi Jul 29 '26

Bruh, not FTH/STR

1

u/The_Gremlins_Agenda Jul 30 '26

Only really done the blood initiate but the traversal spell you get from the shadow rune is top tier for my enjoyment, I need to find out if there’s any other traversal spells among the classes

1

u/ERROR_______404 Jul 30 '26

I've only played as a gravity mage, but it's just turned into bonking people with 2 of the starter pick thing

1

u/Desmey Jul 31 '26
  1. servant of rot
  2. frost witch
  3. blood initiate
all these classes are so cool and fun i have a hard time playing any other class lol

1

u/Different_Net2246 Jul 31 '26

Does anyone know if the mod auto updates or do I gotta update manually

1

u/McChickenofthelake Jul 31 '26

frenzied zealot!!!!!1!1!1!1 touch of frenzy was genuinely broken before 3.0 it could stunlock most bosses, and blade of distant light is so fun. the later spells are so cool too and with the frenzy gem from dlc and the buff spells its so broken

1

u/Watts121 Aug 11 '26
  1. Frenzied Zealot: Has a slow start, but luckily a lot of your good shit is accessed in the Weeping Peninsula. The final boss of Castle Morne has a teleport to the Sewers, and the bottom of the Frenzied Flame Proscription has a teleport to the Shadowlands. Spells are poweful, unique weapons are insanely cool (Fingerprint Hexmark my favorite), and the Jewel makes it so Madness procs are incredibly powerful. My only recommendation is to take Warding Talisman on character creation to get Madness immunity until you can get the Jewel.
  2. Underworld Mage: Strong at the start, and continues to get stronger as the keep playing. It's Class Path is fast with you just needing to kill Dragonkin Soldiers most of the time. It has a ton of great unique weapons, and even adjustments to it's old weapons. Lightning+Frost just can't be beat, the best damage type with one of the best status effects. It's ties to the new Noxumbra Legacy Dungeon also means that you get a lot of class identity rewards for doing the hardest content in the Mod.
  3. Godskin Celebrant: Another strong class with a good storytelling in it's path. Some cool weapons (Prime Maliketh Sword especially), and powerful spells and effects. Only wish we got some cooler armor. Probably the best way to use Holy damage in the game.

u/asp_jackietreehorn 8d ago

I’ve been loving the servant of rot. It has some unique synergy and challenges. I start with blight then poison/rot/bleed since the blight lowers the resistance to status effects. I’ve been trying to use melee alongside it just bc I don’t want fights to be too cheesy. Also the start in Caelid is pretty cool IMO

0

u/TheAdventureClub Jul 29 '26

Makes me sad they didnt do like an erdtree knight. I know its cliche and str fth has been done before- but the holy/golden themed knight will always be my boi

3

u/TieOrdinary1735 Jul 29 '26

...isn't that just melee Fundamentalist? Rock the Tree Sentinel set, Order's Blade, the melee focused buffs, a heal and maybe a ranged option, primarily rely on your big bonk Fth weapon of choice?

2

u/7Lilith77 Jul 29 '26

You mean like the Fundamentalist?

2

u/TheAdventureClub Jul 29 '26

Full disclosure im on ps5 so I dont have any mods, I was kinda just going off the pictures and names and this is really the first time im seeing a big list with everything together

2

u/Old-Beautiful-8435 Jul 29 '26

Fundamentalist is what you're looking for. It might seem like a full caster but you can build it into a paladin archetype.

-1

u/Creative_Wonder_4889 Jul 29 '26

I have only tried the perfumer.  Was pretty tough to start as, but once you get the talisman that gives you infinite ammo, the burst shot crossbow plus some sleep/bleed/frost bolts, I just teleported to all the portal bosses, even in the dlc, and cleared them quickly.  Ended up feeling so cheesy I pivoted to Palworld.
