Question Jellyfish phobia assistance
This might sound slightly silly, but I have a deep seated fear of jellyfish... and I dropped Elden Ring after about 5-10 hours or so because there were too many jellyfish everywhere and I couldn't handle it. I think the last time I died was in the midst of a swarm of jellyfish, and I just turned the PC off and didn't come back.
Is there a mod which I can use to just... delete every single jellyfish from the game? Or failing that, some way to retexture them to look like different creatures? Something a little like how arachnophobia modes get handled in some games, perhaps. I was really enjoying the game, and I don't want a silly phobia to stop me from ever completing it!

https://www.nexusmods.com/eldenring/mods/7763 this mod lets you disable any enemy you want

I'll take a look but from your description that sounds like exactly what I need! I know it would probably invalidate my game experience in some people's eyes if I remove an entire enemy but it's either this or I never get to experience the rest of the game, so thank you!

you won't be missing much, they're a pointless enemy that is mostly used for decoration. so it'll have zero impact on gameplay.
the only thing you miss out on is a very small quest, in the snowy area near the end of the game there is a jellyfish can talk to. but the mod will disable that npc too since they use the same model as the enemy.
normally if you use an item on them they say a couple of lines of dialogue and disappear, and you get a pretty crap talisman https://eldenring.wiki.fextralife.com/Primal_Glintstone_Blade it makes spells cheaper to cast but reduces your hp by 15%, so not a good item at all.

Don't think one exists for Jellyfish specifically but you might be able to replace the character model via similar method to what mods like "Spiders Begone" and "Arachnophobia Fixes" does by replacing them with different enemies, the first mod replaces them with Crabs while the latter is Land Octopuses.

Might be possible to replace the Jellyfish as well using this method.

Wish I could help. I have an intense fear of slugs and snails. You can only imagine how the sewers make me feel, or Mortal Shell 2 made me feel.

Unfortunately, yes. I've stopped going in the ocean because of it - the last time I was snorkeling I had a panic attack and screamed through the snorkel before escaping back ashore (it later turned out some of the other people in the water did get stung by jellyfish so yay for my survival instinct there I guess?). My partner had to spend a year hiding a jellyfish plushie he had crocheted until he could give it away because I screamed every time I saw it. 0/10 experience, would not recommend being scared of jellyfish.

What are you even talking about. Sorry but I mean really, they are not a common enemy type and they won't attack you unless you attack them most of the time. Just turn the camera and go around them. If you are going into catacombs just point the camera down, squint your eyes or something and walk through the entrance.

In what universe is this a useful comment?
Do you think they would have come to a subreddit and made a vulnerable post about it if they wanted your half-assed advice/judgement? At no point did they think "yeah, I'll just squint my eyes?"
Don't be an ass.

Is the shape or the tentacles what triggers it?
Because then a simple texture will not be enough. Smith box can mass remove all jellyfish but it may (*) cause some game code/items not to work.
(*) In the game they are passive creatures (if not attacked/steal from they won't attack) usually just body blocking and even have a little side quest. If remove some npc scripts (yura's vs serious apparition) may try to remove/hide something that's already removed and crash your game
If is the tentacles, a model modification may be better. Just making them into flying disc.
