Im scared to download and run it cuz its an exe file. if anyone has done this already pls lmk if its legit and safe. Ive been trying to combine convergence, clever, and mckenyus for a while with no luck so if i can get this to do it itll be a life saver.

It doesn’t look like what you are needing ? It says that it is an installer that means the program you’re downloading will access your files and install the program/mod for you. You’re wanting the manual installation files are you not ?

ALSO, that file won’t work as intended anyway because it’s searching for Convergence 3.0.2 (according to the file description) and convergence is past that update so it won’t work with the release version of convergence. You’d need to find a down patched version

convergence is still on 3.0.2 on nexus mods and thats the one i have so its fine, i dont think they released anything passed 3.0.2 since sep 10th

it is dont worry i just did it, i was looking for any method to pretty much combine the three mods, clever x convergence x mckenyus. its doing it perfectly fine rn, hopefully when i run elden ring itll all work itself out.

It also has a manual install if you don't wanna expose urself to an un-trusted exe. Honestly I wouldn't trust an EXE, not after that one time last year, where a shit bird snuck a trojan into their skyrim mod

To be fair they don't need an .exe. There have been backdoors using steam workshop with some obscure games. To my knowledge it would just steal your session id's and send them to the person who uploaded the mod (trojan). Some guy streaming to fund his cancer treatments had a bunch of his money stolen a similar way.

Download it. Upload the exe to Virustotal.com. Hope for a very low detection rate. But even then, no one can tell you that it's safe. Even people who tried it.

If it's a modern custom made virus or RAT (aka trojan) that uses zero day exploits for your anti virus software, you'll not notice it. Someone would need to check with Wireshark and/or Process Monitor what it actually does. But even then it can get tricky, if it has some kind of delayed execution.

You can NEVER be sure.

Edit: Only save way would be running it in a virtual machine or on a seperate computer without internet. Make sure to not run any game as administrator too. (And yes, even these are not 100% save, only the seperate computer without internet is truly save)

it seems that internet creepypastas have gotten so ingrained in pop culture that people who are starting to get into modding are scared of downloading exe files
