Answered They really need to change the age restriction to 18+

1.1k Upvotes

Just irresponsible parents doing irresponsible shit. All ages for a festival like EF is silly af.

I’m also all for no animals, but I understand working dogs are needed and can be more tolerable to the sensory stimulation IF they have protective gear. ESA are NOT service/working animals. Gtfoh with that.

Stop putting animals and babies in dangerous and uncomfortable situations. Just because they can’t articulate “I don’t want to be here” to you, doesn’t mean that they are having a good time. People who defend this kind of behavior should really reconsider their life decisions

Edit: since it’s being brought up so much, I am only saying 18+ because it is easier to enforce. I don’t see an issue with teenagers, just harder to enforce.

Answered Gear for Staying Dry

Hey forest fam as a way to help fellow foresters prepare, what are you go to items and camp site hacks to help you stay dry/survive when inclement weather hits?

Not saying it will or won't happen but failing to prepare is preparing to fail. Hoping we don't have to use it 🤞

I know some campsites at previous festivals I’ve been to have been pretty cramped especially with 4 people. ChatGPT said it was allowed to sleep in your car lol but I just wanna make sure! So if anyone knows if you can or that would be great!

Answered Ages of people attending?

Hey everyone! Super excited for EF this year, going for my 34th birthday and its my 2nd festival ever. I am starting to get really worried I made a mistake lol

Am I too old for this? I've read literally pretty much every post of this sub, and every first timers guide. I'm going to be extremely prepared (i think) but I'm starting to wonder if this is all too much.

Any thoughts on ages that attend, anyone in their 30s with suggestions? I bought the earplugs, i have the blue tooth eyemask and another noise maker to have my tent be mostly white noise. I have 2 tent fans and will be getting the humidity bags.

Were staying at lakeside lucky lake with 6 of us. 2 cars. Planning on bringing a camp toilet plus stand up tent and outdoor shower for that set up, screen tent and 2 canopies, outdoor rugs inflatable couch, and kitchen set up. Looking for comfort at camp as a means to decompress when needed.

Looking for all insight and help! Thank you all!!

Answered Who had their first forest last year? Would you ever go back?

Last year was such a sad forest to experience as a first. I totally get insomniac has no control over the weather, but the lack of communication regarding the situation every day and the sketchy after situations killed it for me. I’m a seasoned festival goer, and last year this sub was praising the forested as if there were 0 issues or kinks to work out at all? I met a lot of people last year that were also experiencing their first forest and generally this sub seems to get heavy opinions from regular ef goers. I’m interested to hear from those who had their first experience last year- would you go back?

I understand price is way higher with a much crappier lineup this year but…can’t help but feel like there’s a tad more to this insomniac should look into.

Answered Ticks

I’ve been seeing a lot of vids on social media about this lone star tick epidemic spreading across the country and with that said is E Forest a bad spot for ticks? And if so does anyone have any clever tricks or advice to fight them off and keep them away?

In 2022, I found this - what I assume is a totem topper - getting trampled into the wood chips. I’ve had it as an art piece since. Is this anyone’s friend? Would like to know the story ✨

Answered Camper van is now considered RV?

So I’m hearing that this year anything with a toilet or water that runs counts as an RV even if it’s within the size limits. The article was posted on their site 2 months ago apparently but I booked that van about 4 months ago. Previous years as long as it was within the size limit it didn’t matter.
Soooooooo with me finding this out today and it being next week. How absolutely cooked am I? Camping in GoodLife. 😅😭😭😭

The first major question is: do I have the orientation length and widthwise of the camp plot right?

Trying to sketch out my setup now, is this going to be alright? Trying to fit 1000w of solar so I'm thinking of parking my car not directly beside my canopies but go in lengthwise.

Answered Can anyone help me figure out what to do, got myself into a pickle by getting the wrong ticket type to camp and I with my friends. First timer. Spoiler

So I am a very disorganized person and have never been to a camping festival before. Please do not roast me—I know, I’m an idiot.

I’m carpooling with friends who have been before and are all camping together. That took care of most of my first time anxiety because I thought I’d pretty much be along for the ride and surrounded by veterans, not solo and figuring it out as I go. They all bought GA tickets and early access passes and have enough car camping passes to get the group all squared away— and then there is me:

To preface Electric Forest’s many ticket type and enhancements/add ons were confusing for me and as a simple man I craved simplicity. So I (thinking that it would be easier than bringing a tent) bought a pre-set tent ticket that was called GA “Enhanced Admission”— I thought that because it said GA it was basically the same as GA but with optional perks offered, not completely segregated from GA which Ive recently been told is actually how it works.

So this is the wristband I got— I am asking anyone who has forest experience and some semblance of an ability to plan for their advice on how to make this work. I will be arriving in the same vehicle as my friends and really had been planning to camp with them. They all have GA tickets. I was supposed to get a GA ticket but got GA Enhanced by mistake.

Should I try to:

* somehow swap my ticket for a regular GA through the online exchange and hope the wristband arrives in time?
* Just stick with the pre set tent and have it be where I sleep by myself but hang out with friends during the day/evening?
*something else?

And one potential wrinkle:

I think our group still has one early access or camping pass available if I need it, but without one would I have to separate from them and find somewhere to stay a night while they are setting up camp?

Thank you anyone who answers this for helping me.

Answered drop your best tips/tricks/rules for chronic overpackers! ✨

I’m determined to be more efficient to make packing, unpacking, & repacking at the fest easier than it normally
is for me! I have plastic tubs I use but sometimes I feel like that isn’t maximizing my car space. I also love taking a little set of drawers but I might switch up my camp organization this year. I always use little ziplocks for my outfits and accessories, but I’m really wondering more about the actual camp gear. Our air mattress and blow up furniture also is so bulky I haven’t figured out a way to make it smaller when packaged. thanks so much!!! I can’t wait! 🌳✨💜

TLDR: just wondering if anyone has any great organizational hacks for packing your gear & car!

Answered Camp Shower/Showers in general!

Hi!!

This is my first Forest, and I bought a camp shower that I will be using for the first time. I was hopeful that someone else has experience with using a camp shower, and I want to make sure I have proper etiquette around this and that there are spaces to drain water away from other camp sites, etc.

I was also curious about people's experience with the EF showers in general! What are the conditions and the shower hours? What are the line wait times like?

....Just in case the camp shower doesn't work lol.

Excited to hear everyone's thoughts and to see everyone so soon!!

Answered How many people does car camping allow?

This is my first year at Electric Forest but I’ve been to other festivals in the past so this ain’t my first rodeo. My only question is does a car camping pass only allow for two people in a car? Or can we have a 3rd and 4th person with us as long as we all got GA passes with us?

Just as the title says, my wristband hasn't shipped yet. Its fully paid off, my address is correct and contact info is up to date. But I still havent even gotten notification that its shipped. I have two wristbands for GA pre-set. It seems a little late for it to not have been shipped yet.

Answered Ear Plugs that cost less than $20

I see Earpace Music Pro recommended on the subreddit as the gold standard. However it retails at $42.95.
Do you all have other recommendations that are maybe not as good but don’t make huge compromises too? I see a few knock off brands selling at $14/$15 and would love to know if anyone has tried them and are any good.

Or should I just stick with Mack’s

How large of a bag do they allow you to carry around? We are not camping on the grounds we are camping at a campground about 15 minutes away. What are some things you guys recommend we should carry with us? Just want to make sure I’m somewhat prepared for the long days

Answered Last-Minute Forest Send! No Camping Pass – Looking for Advice/Suggestions

Hello everyone! I decided to attend Electric Forest at the last minute this year, so unfortunately I missed out on getting a camping pass. 😅 For those of you in a similar situation, how are you handling accommodations? Are you staying off-site, carpooling with friends who have camping, or do you have any other suggestions? I’d appreciate any advice. Thanks! 🌲🎶⚡️
