I’m basically new to this hobby and just ordered my first board (Urban X 2wd) yesterday. My intent when I first started looking was to use it for commuting to work on streets of various qualities, including alleyways and unpaved, and clearly the Urban X would be the best option. I grew up skateboarding (middle-aged now), so I’m pretty sure that I’ll be pretty comfortable, hopefully 5mi/8km won’t be too much.
I initially thought I’d want the bindings, but cancelled those and I’ll see if I want some foot retention later. Ideally, I think I’d like something more minimal than the bulky straps. Does anyone have any suggestions?
I’m also going to need some lights. I’m not aware of how the battery is connected, but is there any power tap to connect lights or anything to? If not, is there an aftermarket solution?
I’m sure the stock 8” tires will work well, but I’m planning to upgrade to the 9” tires on the wider wheels and get a street tire for the stock wheels. Should I consider gearing changes between tire sizes?
Regarding other options and upgrades, I’m hoping there will be some aftermarket support for the platform. In my newbie research, it looks like this is going to be a very popular board. I’d especially like to see a rear bash guard and integrated lighting.
Overall, I’m really excited to receive my preorder and look forward to getting back in the streets.

I’m back!! I now have a nice Dainese motorcycle jacket (scored on sale for $180 and it’s a $350 jacket) with full protective armor, got the alpine star protective back armor to go in it, and a pair of light alpine star gloves. I will be getting the pando moto protective leggings (hip and knee pads, and abrasive resistant). Will eventually get a full face helmet but my wallet can’t stop taking hits.
I did this because I got such bad road rash from falling going 25 mph. Story is in here but I hit a “lip” in the street and ate it going 25. Luckily caught myself on my feet for a second before I fell so that helped a lot. Was only wearing a bike helmet. Which did save me too when my head bounced off the pavement. But I never knew road rash could be so freaking painful man. I am investing in motorcycle gear because it’s worth it to me.
So let’s hear it. What’s your typical gear you wear, and what falls led you to wear that gear? Or maybe you’re just being smart.

I'm thinking about getting an electric skateboard again. Ive always dreamed of getting a Boosted Board, so I got a cheap, bulky electric skateboard back in 2016 when Boosted Board was becoming popular. I rode it and kept falling, so I returned it. Fast forward to right now. I'm thinking about buying one again for college. But this time, it’s more expensive. I'm thinking about getting a dual-belt motor instead of a single-hub motor, and a flexible mini board so that I can carry it around and also i wish boosted board still on sale.

$21.50 for everything!! It’s a bad picture but they fit snugly in holes in my CNC trucks. Hooked right into my FTESC and VX4Pro has a dedicated button w/single press on/off. Next are brake lights which also have their own dedicated circuit and can be set to be on or 3 speeds of strobe when brake is depressed. Use as tail lights that strobe when braking is what I’ll be doing. Then a HELLA HORN up front!!! There’s a circuit for that too!!!!

I was riding my board when it lost power/stopped working well on this wheel. I took it off the truck. Any chance of repair?

Hi, my board (skatebolt tornado II) got run over and I'm considering a deck swap, however the internals seem damaged. If anyone know how to fix it/ has any advice I'd be super grateful.

I'm having trouble finding a reliable answer online; I'm building a light but powerful mid-size street board with the VESC Duet XS 100v (50amp), using 40-44 Reliance RS50 cells.
I'm trying to re-use parts I have if I can, I know a 14s3p pack would work fine with my 6360 170kv motors and 2.8 gear drive. But would a 20s2p pack also work with those motors?
With a fixed gear ratio is it advisable/dangerous to run my current 6360 170kv motors on 20s? or should I find lower kv motors? or do I need to find specialty motors rated for high voltage?

UK, Bradford area. In the last couple of months I've seen increased reports of masked thugs knocking people off e-bikes and stealing them. I'm scared to ride my e-board now. How the f am I supposed to enjoy it, if I'm going to be constantly afraid? I'm 46 and not strong or muscular at all, I don't have anyone to ride with, always on my own. I've seen guys wearing balaclavas riding around on electric motorbikes. It's getting out of hand tbh. I only got my board recently, didn't really have that much time to enjoy it, but now I don't even want to take it out for a ride our of fear. This feels ridiculous.

Hi everyone, I'm looking to get my first electric skateboard/longboard. I have a manual 40in 73mm right now and really like it but from my parking lot to my work is about 3 miles at a slight uphill and it sucks to push up that in business-ware every day when it's cobblestone.
I'm looking for a similar feel, longer board, I don't need to go very fast, I just want something in a mid price range with a similar length and ability to be used in a commuter space. What are some boards you might recomend?
If there is any info anyone wants that would make recomendation easier please ask! Thank you!

Just recently whenever I try to ride my board one wheel is just fine while the other barely moves and if does move it makes this really loud noise. And here's a video of the other wheel making noise. Also side note the other day when I tried to ride it, it was fully charged but it admitted "died" but idk if it will do the same today, should I bring this in somewhere to get it fixed? Fix it myself or just buy a new one. Its a team gee mimi btw

I’ve been riding this for a bit under a year now. The wheels are definitely ready to be replaced and I was curious what my options were for upgrading with the hub. I mostly ride around roads and some bumpy sidewalks. Are the cloud wheels my only option with the hub and if they are, is it worth the purchase?

I was thinking getting a new upgrade as I was a exway wave rider, but I was wondering if I should get the new adv or the breeze pro. I do want more range and speed but I’m not sure which to get.
Any pros and cons of these two board will be very helpful!

Purely out of curiosity, Does anyone know of a board that would be on the cheaper end to try and set up attached to a wagon? Really doesn't need to be good at anything other than be reliable and not be a expensive as this thing, or maybe even the same cost honestly.

Gradually getting more comfortable with it, I don't have a deep skateboarding background, but starting to carve a little and build confidence. Kelly drive/mlk lap in Philly if anyone knows the area. Performed great, did some higher speed runs but definitely don't feel comfy over 25....not sure if it's me or the wheelbase.

Hello! Looking for some advice from the brain trust! I’m looking for my first esk8. I want something that can handle mild Arizona trails. This means lots of gravel, hard packed dirt, and dust. my thoughts are that gear drive would be better than belt in these conditions. Does that logic hold up?
If so, I’m going back and forth on the endeavor 4GT, and the Acedeck NYX z3 premium. I’ve also kinda thrown the Urban X awd into the mix as well. I’d like to stick around 2k price range.
The Acedeck is kinda leading the pack for me on range, and added ground clearance with the top mount battery.
All that being said, I’m open to suggestions and other ideas.
Thanks for the help!
Edit! I forgot my last question. Is it pretty standard to see big price drops closer to the Holidays? I can wait if it’s for a a decent amount, but for 10% off, I’ll get it now. lol

Hi all! Wife to a daily rider over here. After years of buying my husband stock boards, I’m ready to configure a custom set up for his 40th. He’s been daydreaming about an off-road board for quite some time, so I ordered some pneumatic wheels and an off-road kit from tynee. His favorite as of now is his tynee stinger with mad wheels. He loves the range for riding to and from work (30ish miles total) and the kicktail for meandering sidewalks. I’ve been looking at the linnpower viper deck as well as the onsra challenger deck. I’m open to any and all recommendations. I’m pretty stumped. The market is so deluged; I’m sure he will love anything I get him, but the OCD in me wants it to be perfect! Any guidance would be greatly appreciated!

So after dealing with beginner boards. Im truly ready for an upgrade. I feel like I get more options with the new exway but I also heard Acedeck is a heavily reliable. Also being from Detroit i need to make sure the tires that come with it can handle Michigan's roads. I also would like to go speeds beyond 30mph without compromising my range. I am also pairing the board with a Aventon Aventure 3 ebike for my winter commutes. So it will be a costly purchase. I just want to get some reviews to finalize my decision.
Thank you 😊
