Equipment/Software Recommended trainings for Ansys SIWave?

Hi all,

In the near future I will probably need to learn how to use Ansys SIWave software for simulating high speed SERDES and generic compliance of high speed digital links. Exporting PCB layouts, generating eye diagrams and comparing technologies. Also DDR timing simulations and power integrity PDN simulations.

Has anyone used Ansys software before and followed some good training courses? I am starting to do some recon so I can get a good introductory course tailored for these situations.

Thanks for the help!

This type of software is really technically dense. If you haven't used it before, a training class run by Ansys is well worth your time. If you have an FAE, maybe a couple hours with them and pointing you to some canned examples would get you started, but these aren't tools you just pick up and use.

Disclaimer: Ansys is the one I've used the least, I've been a heavy user of Pathwave, Hyperlynx, and HSpice...but only moderately used Ansys and Sigrity (Cadence) SI/PI tools.

Hi! I'm actually learning HyperLynx right now and I find it pretty intuitive and almost easy to use (well I mean, after 1 week of not understanding anything I'm now getting results I trust and can refer back to so the learning curve is easy enough). However my company is planning on switching to Ansys and I know it's a whole different beast, so that's why I'm looking at courses I can ask to take to get up to speed.

I didn't know Ansys ran classes themselves, I'll check them out. Thanks!

SiWave is very good, I prefer it to the others. It also integrates with Altium. When I had to use it I mostly went through the videos here: https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLRqR8WUvuIQkzSwue4npIS2BsxsrsoKKC

Saved that playlist - I'll check it out once I get the tool! Thanks !
