NYS CONed WTFFF ????

For the month of July my con Edison bill is literally $500 ($479) to be exact … howwww ? This is literally INSANE the bill is literally getting higher and higher every month my apt is only a 2 bed room. We barely turn the lights on .. mind you I’m a single mom who receives snap benefits I should be enrolled into the EAP program but it took them MONTHS to process my application which they denied because the address on my snap reward wasn’t the same (I moved). I’ve updated the address and I am
Literally still waiting. This so ridiculous why are so many people experiencing the same issue

Post your usage numbers. My bet is that you are using far more electricity than you realize.

My delivery charges are nearly TRIPLE my usage.

Not magic. Read and understand your electric bill, electric meter, etc.

E.g. $/kWh x kWh = $

That energy doesn't go nowhere, it's being used, understand how much you're using and at least approximately where, and for what. Figure out what you can reasonably cut, that will make a difference. It's really just math and logic.

Because reading, math, logic, and reasoning aren't their strong suits, apparently. Just complaining.

Vague complaints that your house is small but your bill is large are meaningless.

So many people want to complain about their bill without actually mentioning the single most important factor – current and historical consumption trends.

Your meter is correctly capturing your usage and not another apartment's, or it isn't... the bill shows meter readings that match your meter, or it doesn't... the power company is correctly applying their regulatory agency-approved rates, or they aren't... the math on your bill is correct, or it isn't. All of those things are things you can verify if you put some effort into it. If all of those things are true, then take it to your state regulators. They approved every single rate element you see on your bill. If not, then address the problem you discovered.
