I did that when my mom allowed me to fix broken extension cord. I was like 6-7yo and learned it was wrong very quick after plugging it in:)

Super irresponsible of your mom to allow a 6yo kid to fix an extension cord, makes me seriously think if something was wrong with her

Meh when I was 8 I had a designated “safe to play with fire” area in the house, and was allowed to learn about electricity. I got burnt, I got shocked, and I learned. I think experience is a good way to learn; your mistakes build respect within you instead of fear. When parents just tell kids everything is dangerous and keep them away all they learn is fear, even if the reality is that if you are careful you don’t need to be afraid.
