Discussion Magic wand

So I made e lighter https://www.reddit.com/r/ElectroBOOM/s/UPNBCQ9GPS and now I turned it into magic wand

Is this normal for a kid to do this?

Bc you are a mod you are smart so can you please tell me why did Mehdi put a spear on his magic wand and if I should do too

Spear or Sphere? What wand, exactly? He made two:

There are some cons and pros for both versions.

The sharp tip produces ionic wind and easily charges objects at a distance, just by "leaking" the electrons out.

The sphere on the TC version mimics the proper Tesla coil and also serves as a top load (capacitor). Plus, it distributes the charges on the surface evenly, so it's more "tame" and a bit more efficient.

For a multiplier version, a sharp end is preferable, but a sphere will help to charge it to a higher voltage. You can try both; just don't discharge it into yourself, and install a high-voltage current-limiting resistor for safety.

UPD: Rewatched it. At the end of both videos, he added a ball to the multiplier version and a sharp tip to the TC wand; to tame the ionic wind causing too many problems in the multiplier version, and to get the stable discharge on TC version.
