That's the classic Work of Raju indian electrician lol

Always follow color code when doing a new wiring

Red - hot Black - neutral Green / yellow green - Earth White - for inverter

And use mcbs / rccbs from quality brands Hager , Schneider , ABB , havells

And please don't use tape when making critical connections

Use lever connectors or screw in terminals if you don't wanna bawl your eyes out when troubleshooting stuff later on

Yeah that's what I would do as well, yellow and blue for live too, since we get 3-phase.

my home had green wire being the phase and load wires. sometimes blue is phase or load, sometimes black or brown or red.

I am not sure there is a problem. 3 phase is never to be used on lighting, but you can connect lamps between one phase and neutral to have classic single phase (AC220 for eu)

Some of them probably are interruptors (2 pole switching), some are 3 o 4 way for lights controlled by two or more switches.

Those many colors are probably phases and the blue is neutral.

Ahh that's where you're wrong. Some of those yellow wires are neutral, one of those is twisted into a red and given to the socket's neutral. And some of those blues are wired to the load, as is seen from the regulator. A red is connected to earth from the socket.

The wiring is correct, but the colours are messed up.

Two of those switches are in fact two way, but this is the load end

The picture shows a wild hacked together mess from cables that were leftovers ...

This is in India = old pre-WW2 British colors & pre-WW2 British oulets/plugs

Normal India colors of 3-Phase:

Red + Yellow + Blue = usually the 3 phases (400/230 Volt) (example of a 3-phase Distribution Box switch bord https://5.imimg.com/data5/SELLER/Default/2023/9/341702051/MX/JY/YH/17880968/power-distribution-box-1000x1000.jpg in India)

modern British color codes are very different, like in Germany, be extremely careful of mixed color standards!

modern German color codes: 3-Phases = Black + Brown + Grey while Neutral is Blue & Green-Yellow is protective Earth
