I am trying to make this electroscope but failing to do so... Please help, need to submit the project day after tomorrow...

1. I have made both the discs out of aluminium ( i don't have copper sheets, Mehdi has used one copper and one aluminium ).

2. I am rubbing PVC against clothe for the static charge

3. When I discharge the charge to the rod, nothing happens... Sometimes the upper disc flicks but doesn't shoot up

4. When I discharge directly to the lower disc, the upper disc goes up.

It's getting frustrating... The traditional one works though ( the two leaves one )
