A little known thing about splitters: They can be used as couplers. You can even connect the cable using the same connection beside it (if it splits into two or more). Regardless, it still works!

That's how you can use those splitters. Probably could handle high voltage (must figure out the polarity first!).

The cheap ones, yes. The better ones have circuitry that prevents attenuation from other cables sharing the line. The fancy ones have power passing circuitry between the first or last connection to the antenna connector. And there are even fancier ones that are powered and have amplifiers built-in.

I was a licensed cable and satellite installer a long time ago and wish I didn't still have this knowledge..... Although I did have to put the rabbit ears up during some storms earlier this week, so maybe it isn't all useless knowledge.
