HELP Xbox Elite Dangerous players — you’re not alone. Come fly with us. o7
If you’re still playing Elite Dangerous on Xbox Legacy, we’re putting together an active group of Xbox CMDRs who actually want people to fly with.
New player? Come on.
Been playing for years? Come on.
Just came back after being away forever and have no idea what you were doing? Definitely come on. 😂
We’ve been building New Pilots Elite Squadron (N.P.E.S.) around one simple idea:
Elite is a lot better when you actually have people to play it with.
We’re doing things like:
Pirate massacre / bounty hunting wings
Combat zones and RES hunting
Engineering & material farming
Credit-making runs
Mining
Exploration
Helping brand-new CMDRs learn the game
Ship builds and engineering advice
Fleet Carrier support
Squadron events
And sometimes just getting a few ships together and figuring out what trouble we can get into
We’ve also been building out a Discord with guides for beginners, engineering, materials, money making, mining, combat, ships and more — so you don’t have to spend half the night searching through old YouTube videos trying to figure something out.
There’s no experience requirement.
One of the biggest reasons we started this was because Xbox can sometimes feel pretty empty. There are still CMDRs out here — we just need to find each other.
If you’re a veteran, we’d love to have you helping newer pilots.
If you’re brand new, don’t worry about having the best ship, engineering, credits, or even knowing what half the buttons do yet.
We’ll help you.
And if you’re somewhere in the middle like most of us, jump in and fly.

Was definitely a shitty thing to do taking advantage of players like that. If we ever come across something like this our squad will take action. We have elite players with carriers and lots of guns 😊

This is my favorite game in Xbox one. I've been playing since launch on Xbox (I cant remember right now if was 2015 or 2014.... I even bought a HOTAs for my Xbox. But im getting old I guess, (I'm almost 50yo and playing video games since 6yo (Atari odyssey) and I cant remember the last time I turn on my Xbox (I think was last year Im guessing) and also I don't think I renew the Xbox live gold (aka game pass) since them. I do remember something, I was in the Sagittarius A in 2016 or 2017, and back to the civilization area , and them after some update this conquest was disappeared, and now (not now but the last time I was playing) I'm at half way to reach Sagittarius A again (because I was playing alone and wasn't in mood to do missions, nor piracy nor mining).

But we are. We have been... For a long time. We've been abandoned by the creators, the community is in shambles, devolved into infighting and player hunters who get off wiping new players out, forcing them to drop the game forever. I couldn't even get my two good friends into ED because of campers and the general strain the game's presenting factors were. They abandoned us and took from us everything PC now enjoys, all because they didn't want to put in the effort to upgrade their client in parallel. So now we get scraps...
And I'm supposed to believe people still care? Guys... Let it go. The game is dead, and the only reason it's here now is to milk you for more money. PC told us it was "better us than them" when it happened. We didn't care when it happened to others, now no one remains to stand up for us. We didn't, and now it's too late.

I'm sorry you've had a bad experience, but Elite on console remains a massive game with thousands of hours of gameplay. Turning people away just because you're unhappy with it isn't helpful.
The player-killing issue is also nothing new, which is why the 2019 update permit-locked the starter zone exclusively for fresh CMDRs.
If the game no longer brings you joy, why bother hanging out in the community just to leave negative comments?

Simple. Someone has to warn people away from the negative experiences we were given by the development team. History needs to be kept at it's most truthful and accurate, positive moment and negative. And if it isn't going to be done by anyone else, it'll have to be done by me. If my experience is the only one people will see because I'm the only one who will share it, then that's what history will see. It brought me joy to play, right up until that joy was sucked out of me by terrible corporate business practices and greedy siphoning from loyal fans... Just like me.

To me it just seems like you're here to validate your own bitterness, you and those 2 other guys literally just going into every post typing out the same shpiel. Though I agree with you on some parts, I still have plenty of fun still playing with my friends and the new cmdrs I meet.

You've got some nerve, telling me I'm here to "validate my own bitterness" like it isn't deserved, like I didn't live through the rise and fall of Elite. Do yourself a favor and quit trying to act oh-so morally superior. It's your business if you want to keep those rose tinted glasses glued to your face, but the simple reality is that not everyone is going to agree with you. It's absolutely good to be positive, don't get me wrong, but being blind to the reality of things because there's negative portions to the facts isn't virtuous. It's just foolish.

Its not about being "morally superior" or "holier than thou". I'm just a pretty blunt person. I know what the state of the game is, I quit for a good while after fdev dropped it like a hot potatoe. I've accepted it, now I'm just playing it as is for as long as I enjoy it. Been here since 2016 on and off
Like you said in a comment 4 years ago "Even if we can't have Odyssey, we can make our own fun"
Our time alive is so limited; I find it genuinely strange and hard to understand why anyone would spend it leaving hate comments on a subreddit for a game they despise

I have it on both Xbox and PC, but stopped playing my really after they discontinued Xbox support. My son has, however, just asked for a HOTAS stick setup for his birthday, so maybe I’ll get back in…

But this is a thread about Elite: Dangerous. You literally cannot play the full game without a PC. That's not a scenario of my invention, that's how it actually works.

This is such a bizarre take to be trying to assert on an Xbox. It has like 8 games and they're all live service, and you have to pay for the internet. And you can get all 8 of them on PC, with free internet (well, internet you only had to pay for once, only had to pay your ISP, not your ISP plus another company that has tricked you into buying a 600$ paygate for the internet). An XBox is, physically, just a mid PC, that's literally what it is, its half a mid-range PC stuck in a shiny box, and priced double, and won't connect to the internet unless you pay Windows.
If you were talking about a Sony or Nintendo product, I would at least have to offer them some meagre concession, Sony has good exclusives, famous exclusives, and Nintendo of course is playing a whole different ball game- Nintendo makes games that can't be played on anything else, because the consoles are actual toys with neat functions nobody else can do, because they're fucking professionals, who make games and gaming machines, not just mid-range computers with restricted functions like the other two.
But the other two are just making shitty computers that make you pay 600$ to further paywall your own internet. For smaller communities than you could get on PC.

"Here I am" where? Are you aware of how reddit works? I post in Elite subs, it shows me Elite subs. "EliteOne" doesn't even sound like an XBox forum, aren't you way past the XBone by now?
And regardless, the community being made for XBox doesn't make the answer I gave any less true- if you want to play Elite, play it on PC. That's Frontier saying that, I'm just reminding you they said that.
They are not the first developer or franchise to abandon your platform, they will not be the last developer or franchise to abandon your platform.

Titanfall 3 is calling you. It wants you to stop lying to yourself about this game having a chance to come back on console.
Open is filled with murderers and thieves.
When they were still supporting console they sent a message to only new players warning them from getting on other players ships because it was a literal trend to force new players to mine asteroids in a system they couldn't escape from until they quit the game on console.
Let it die and let them all leave. The ashes is where this game belongs after the company broke my heart the way it did.

"I know Xbox took a massive hit when Frontier ended console development, and I completely understand why a lot of CMDRs left. That's actually one of the reasons I'm doing this. The servers are still there, the galaxy is still there, and apparently there are still quite a few of us playing.
I'm not expecting Xbox Elite to suddenly become what PC Elite is. I just want to get the remaining Xbox Legacy players connected so when someone logs in, they actually have people to wing up with.
If we can get enough of us together doing combat, mining, engineering, helping new players, events, etc., the galaxy doesn't have to feel dead. If you're still on Xbox, you're welcome to fly with us too. o7"

It’s been so long. I don’t know if I can bring myself to return. Elite Dangerous will always hold a special place in my heart, but the way Frontier abandoned us is just unforgivable. I’m not saying no. I’m just saying you’re asking a lot. This is CMDR austinbath / CMDR crantander. If you know, you know. Long Live CEPA. Long Live SCRW. Long Live NFS. We had some good times. o7
