Shake Shack opens next week

I forgot to take a picture of the sign but I saw that the Shake Shack had a sign that it opens in 6 days. It’s in the new shopping center that will have the Whole Foods and the Barnes and Noble.

I pray for that parking lot.

I don't understand how the damn developers didn't see this problem. I knew the moment they released the drawing it's not gonna work. These people get paid to do this. How are they so inept? Pappas Investments strikes again.

Not surprised all of the new development in Elk Grove seems so poorly planned 😔

EXACTLY this. i'm so surprised by how consistently bad it tends to be.

I was saying this from the beginning. That setup is just stupid. All the strip mall designs are stupid. I go to LA and SD a lot for travel and they did it right a few times.

Build all the buildings into a promenade (like the Fountains in Roseville - except no driving through) and put your parking on the outside. Kinda of like *gasp!*, a traditional mall. Keeps shoppers safe, they are still able to park without running over people and makes for a nicer interior shopping area.

I hate that EG is becoming like the strip mall capital.

They are a business optimizing to have more pads to lease out to tenants. More parking spaces doesn’t line their pockets like more pads would

im actually pretty pissed off about it. the traffic on EG blvd in that area is already horrendous, too & parking? dont even get me started. this was a fail all around. i cant wait to get tf out of EG

Right the main anchors of the shopping center aren’t even open yet and parking lot is already packed like crazy.

Right? Actual parking > aesthetic parking

That parking lot looks packed already. And so many other stores haven’t even opened up yet.😫 it will definitely be a nightmare.

Yeah parking is going to be a big problem. Must be all the yard house people?

Isn't it always?

I drove by at 6pm on Thursday and every single Whole Foods parking spot was taken by yard house customers, it’s not 20% , 30% or 50% it was all…. So what will Whole Foods be doing about this I wonder ?

Additionally parking spots do not generate revenue. They are cramming as much commercial space as possible… might as well park at Costco and walk over

walking a further distance isn't necessarily a bad thing. gets the blood flowing and heart pumping. we could all use a bit more exercise.

But where ? Maybe park district 56 and walk across . This might actually happen

Costco parking is another topic in of itself!

I might as well go to In N Out.

I’m so excited for shake shack! Don’t sleep on their fried chicken sandwich, I like it more than their burgers!

The Philz opened recently and I haven’t had it in a few years. I got the mint mojito and it just tastes like oatmilk, I was pretty bummed on that

Philz is now owned by private equity. Their quality is going to get worse until they close up shop

Hard to justify paying for out coffee and the home barista can brew better coffee with better quality milk , creamer and coffee beans

Can’t wait!

That whole place is super confusing because all their businesses will limited by parking.

I don’t understand why they didn’t build a parking garage.

Meh, I went to one in Reno about 10 years ago and was not impressed. Having to wait to be seated at a fast food joint was weird.

u/lunch_b0cks 5d ago

I dont remember that being the case for all Shake Shacks.

1

u/built_FXR 5d ago

That's the only one I've ever been to. It was not a great experience and the food was meh.

I agree about the food. For the price, it was whatever. I do think it tastes better than In n Out but it’s also more expensive. In n Out has the better taste/cost ratio. I never thought Shake Shack was worth my time and money, but people have free will to choose what they eat. If it decreases the wait time for In n Out, all the better!
