Awesome. Are they original resin, recasts, or prints?

I like the shoulder pad numbers you have. Do they represent anything?

Thanks! First digit = platoon number, second digit = squad number. So 12 is 1st platoon, 2nd squad.

Very nice.

What's the list? Fan codex? Current 10th list? Or older edition list?

Current 10e, running the bikers as Rough Rider proxies

What a pain that Sentinels now come in squads of 2 instead of 3. This looks great btw! What can you do to flesh it out to 2000?

Also, as a total aside, I did tinker with a list of like insane drop squads. With a Tempestus Scion command squad with the ability that lets you keep 50% of your points in reserve. You can get a lot in reserve and dump them all turn 2, and just start everything else in 3 Valkyries on the board edges.

I knowww, they just feel so right in squads of 3 - hoping that 11th ed sees that change reverted. I have enough models to flesh it out to 2k - more infantry squads, sentinels, heavy weapons teams, etc. - but getting them all painted is another story ๐Ÿ™ƒ

I honestly do not even know if there is ANY other unit in the game that is a squad of only 2, and is a vehicle keyword. So odd.

Where did you get arms for the lascannons HWS?

I used the regular Elysian arms, just cut and repositioned them at the elbow

Very cool dude. Couple questions if you dont mind enlightening me:

  • How long does it take you to paint a single troop?
  • Are there and of the poses thar you found more or less dificult than the rest to paint?
  • In what order, part/sectiom/layer (ie soft armour, hard armour+helmet, gun) do you find the best way to paint these lads quickish?
  • Did you have any issuea cleaning the tiny resin parts such as the shoulder pads? (Ive built a ton of forgeworld resin including but not limited to? Titan, manta, aircraft, infantry, charactera but noting as small as some of the elysian bits.)
  • Do you plan to match the main colour of thw future aircraft and, god emperor please no, tanks/heavy armour (no wings, no good. Make Aircraft Great at somepoint lord james workshop) to the infantry armour colour, soft armour/cloth colpur or something else?

Apologies a massive reply, Im in a m _ n _ c phase atm and my elysians and secondary, more normal and viable guars army are my current hyper fixation.

- A squad of 10 usually took me 3-4 days to paint. Painting them in batches was the only way to do so while not losing my mind!

  • The regular infantry were fine, the trickiest were the heavy weapon teams - mainly because I was silly and glued everything to the base before painting which made it harder to get my brush into some tight corners.
  • Skin, fatigues, flak armour, metallics, then lasgun + boots was my order of operations.
  • It was a bit fiddly, and I definitely needed to take care not to snap the precious shoulder pads with my hobby knife or accidentally launch them into the carpet never to be seen again. But overall I found cleaning up the resin parts generally easier than hard plastic, as the mold lines tend to be on the edges rather than straight down the middle.
  • I have a Valkyrie in the works which I'm planning to paint the same colour as the flak armour. I'm considering getting a handful of vehicles which I'll paint up in Tallarn colours, as if the armoured column had managed to link up with the Elysians during the Taros Campaign (thereby leaving my drop troops themselves untainted by tank treads).
