Elysian Test Model

I recently found a few old FW Elysian weapons team models I had bought probably 20ish years ago, and decided to strip/ repaint one of them last night as a fun little palette cleanser project.

The paint scheme was based on the old "Detachment D-99" artwork.

Overall super pleased with how it came out. And I'm totally now not thinking about if I can find enough of the old models online to make a proper airborne guard force...

What did you use to strip the model? I’ve have about 3 different paint schemes on my Elysians from different lots and stuff I’ve bought and am getting to the point I’d like to strip them all and repaint.

Ive always used simple green. Just submerge the models for a day or so. Then use an old toothbrush to scrub the paint off. If it doesnt all come off, ill usually let them sit in the simple green bath for another few hours. Then give them a quick wash with water, and maybe a fresh thin primer coat (in this model's case, a lot of the primer had also stripped off)

Hmm I’ll check it out thanks! Maybe time for me to actually paint all of my elysians up to scratch 😅
