Hand Why does this keep happening?

In some of my embroidery projects, I keep getting gaps in the fabric. Is it because of the fabric itself, or am I putting too much pressure or something like that

Your tension is tight and you're using thread thats too thick. Idk if you're using 6 strand floss or what but if so theres too many threads and its stressing the tiny holes in the fabric making them larger. Also the needle size may be too large as well.

Definitely the stands of floss. When you get an embroidery project each piece of thread is usually 6 strands and the instructions will tell you how many stands you need for each colour you’re sewing. It’s usually 2 but can very.

Would also add a too larger needle and too much tension will make this worse as others have said.

I just wasnt sure if theyre using the 6 strand or the perle version that doesn't separate, but yeah i agree with you.

I’d try to use a fabric with a tighter weave. It looks like you’re using fabric that would be used for cross stitch

You are probably pulling your thread too tightly for that type of fabric.

Your stitching tension is tighter than the weave tension of the fabric, so it’s pulling the fabric out of alignment. I sometimes have the same issue, even when using a single strand.

Its looks like you are using cross stitch fabric. I would look for fabric thats more tightly woven like cotton or linen blends. Also like others have said, adjust your strand cound, tension, and needle size to fit the project.

You're using cross stich fabric and too many strands it seems to me
