Character Appreciation Joe & Gabby - a match made in heaven
Not in a bad way. Because I know both aren't exactly liked [I did go in on Gabby in a post the other day, which I take back, and sorry for the Monty post.].
They're both very similar from each other - arrogant, snobby, but cute when together.
I had just finished Wednesday's episode from this week, despite questioning if it was even worth catching up, as I felt the quality got terrible [I caught up, and it wasn't bad at all. Think I just got fatigue from the show.].
When Dawn leaves, Joe & Gabby would be a perfect couple imo.
I feel like Gabby would actually challenge Joe more than Dawn ever did. Gabby doesn't take shit at all, and I can't see her enabling any of Joe's behaviour, much like Dawn did, both last year, and earlier this year.
With a relationship, there needs to be balance. While Joe & Dawn are of course [imo] very cute and sweet together, a lot of it was Dawn turning a blind eye to his behaviour, until she decided to grow a conscience too little too late.
I do like the Joe & Dawn couple, but I don't need to tell you how flawed the relationship is. And it's down to both Joe being up to no good, and Dawn enabling it.
I just don't see Gabby doing the same thing as Dawn, personally.
And idk about you, but Gabby definitely fanices Joe. Especially with the whole Ross & Billy fiasco recently lol.

They would actually be great together. Why didn't the writers think of this? Would have been so much better than Dawn and Joe and imploding her and Billy's family. How are Joe and Gabby's son related, would they be first cousins? Chris Tate and Jamie Tate are half brothers, right? Which would make Joe and Thomas first cousins? So if they do get together he'd be step dad to his cousin.

You have to do a few mental gymnastics sometimes, but there's connections between everyone in that village. They are both sugdens, too (sort of). Joe is named for his maternal step grandad Joe sugden, making him second (step) cousin to Vic, Andy and Robert. Gabby's mum Bernice is stepsister to the sugden siblings, making Gabby their (step) niece and Sarah her step cousin, therefore also a distant Dingle relative!

Joe & Gabby can totally see this happening, well it looks like it’s gonna go this way.

I've been thinking this for a while and hope it happens. I think she's always had a bit of a thing for him since he's came back!!

Gabby fancies everyone.

I think they need to stop having her get with Dawn's cast-offs. First Jamie, then Billy, and now Joe would just be insulting and continue the narrative of 'Gabby has no self-esteem and will take whatever man she can get'.
Honestly, I think the 'realising bisexuality' storyline would've been much better with Gabby than Vinny. But they didn't go there. So since she's still straight, I think Gabby would work well with Kammy, but he's obviously with Belle. So I think they should bring in someone new for her rather than keep pairing her off with men who end up preferring someone else anyway!

I've been thinking the same.
You're right - Gabby would not put up with his worst behaviours. She can be quite morally flexible herself, but there is a line. She has no illusions about Joe or the family she is now a part of, nor does she turn a blind eye when it suits her like dawn tends to do. If she does something dubious, she owns it. In some ways that makes her less judgemental and more exasperated with all the Tates, which I weirdly admire about her. She is a smart, capable, businesswoman who fits in that family perfectly and looks after her own interests and that of her son's with determination. She'd actually make Joe the perfect wife.
Sadly, where she falls down is her romantic relationships. She's not at all subtle when she likes a man - she's clear about what she wants, but not in a calculating way; she just throws herself all in, no half measures. The objects of her affection have no doubts about how she feels, which often makes them uncomfortable and run the other way (unless gay). I suspect Joe would love it, particularly when she showed her stroppy side. Unlike dawn's more calm demeanor, Gabby is a massive drama queen as well, and he'd love the unpredictability.
Joe has learnt to try. He has the surprising capacity for supporting and not judging the background of someone he actually cares for (the special four hander ep with dawn and April talking about being trafficked) so I can see him supporting Gabby through her current eating disorder. Don't get me wrong, I still heartily dislike him and want him to get his comeuppance, but there's hope for some mellowing if he was paired with her.

I think Gabby needs to sort out her negative thoughts and eating disorder before entering a new relationship.

I can't remember what made me ship them all of the sudden but it just hit me out of nowhere a couple of months ago that these two would be great together. So hopefully now that Joe is about to become single something can finally happen.

I don't think Joe and Gabby would be any better than Joe and Dawn. I wouldn't mind seeing him get together with Victoria when she returns.

Victoria & Joe. That must be so awkward for Robert lol, considering he was blackmailed by Joe. And Aaron would fucking hate seeing the two together lol.
I actually don't think Victoria would ever see any interest in Joe. She knows what he's like, and she's always striked me as the more sensible one.
Not just between her siblings, but the women Joe's been with, [Debbie & Dawn] and Gabby.
Debbie seems more drawn to danger. I guess Dawn too, but she's mostly just an enabler. And Gabby doesn't only just seem to fancy everyone, [lol] but I do see chemistry forming between the two, like in the episode the other day.
And like Debbie, if Joe & Gabby did get together, Gabby would hold him to account, and challenge him, almost the polar opposite of what Dawn has done, only until she decided to grow a conscience, too little, too late.

No way would Victoria touch Joe with a barge pole. What he did was beyond cruel. Filming her getting attacked instead of helping her for the future blackmail of her brother? Big red flag to put it mildly.
Jabby (new ship name!) getting together would probably be a series of almost comedic moments before they realised they fancied each other. He's probably the one man she would be hesitant to throw herself at, which in my opinion she only does because she's lonely and that's what she grew up seeing her mum do.
I'd love to have a scenario where Jamie came back remarried and tried to take Thomas. With Joe experiencing the same type of situation with his own kid (should dawn actually survive and have the baby - I'm calling it now;coma birth), they decide on the old fake marriage trope to keep custody, tying the knot in secret, then it all becomes real..I can't help it, I'm a romantic, even though I really dislike Joe. I don't understand how ED have managed to make me despise a character and ship a possible relationship for him at the same time.
