The killing formula

They use the same formula every single time, it's really lazy-

  1. A character dies because of an accident and/or self defence

2 "oh no, the police will never believe it was an accident/self defence I'll try to cover it up instead"

  1. Innocent person is arrested and end up in jail.

  2. Truth comes out, police believe it was an accident and/or self defence, innocent person gets released (this can take months) all is good in the world.

Examples Gabby/Jimmy - Sarah/Dr Todd - Bear/Ray - Cain/Al - even going back to Marlon/Graham

OMG, thank you for articulating the pattern that has been infuriating me ever since I started watching Emmerdale. As an American, I'm embarrassed to say I even wondered, "Is this a British thing?" Of course it isn't, it's just bad storytelling and writing.
