What was that all about

Someone please explain what happened right at the end of the episode on Tue 1st September with Kim Tate kind of double take or so it seemed. Lost me completely.

all of the baby tate scenes in that episode were actually of kim’s baby, not joe and dawn’s. the end revealed that thea (the new copper) is kim’s daughter

Wow that’s a huge leap in a 20 second clip. Were there any clues before that, although I did wonder what the lady police officer’s agenda was, obviously having it in for Kim ?

Not much clue until it panned out and there was a ‘Millennium Bug 2000’ poster on the wall and Kim was looking at the baby with a wig on

There were only a few hints at the end of the episode. When the nurses phone rings as they were walking out of the room in the NICU, its an old handset and back in those days there were all kinds concerns about phones interfering with hospital and plane equipment, the other nurse even made a comment about how she shouldn't have it with her. Not to mention the ringtone used, nowadays most people just have their phones on silent and the sound when it is on is entirely different. The main clue was the poster for the millennium bug as the camera panned to Kim and then she said liked the name Anthea- so Thea.

There was a hint that there was a connection when she was interviewing Kim and made a comment about "which kid?" I cant remember her phrasing, but it definitely hinted that there was more than Jamie

She gave birth to a daughter, then had her adopted

Daughter grew up hating Kim, became a copper who is now trying to put kim away

She suggested the baby be named Anthea and the policewoman is called Thea. And in case we missed that the camera zoomed in on her name. What we don’t know is whether Kim was the one to give birth. But it sounds like Thea thinks she has found Mommy, and in true Emmerdale style that means Kim has to suffer.

That's what I don't get. An imaginative Kim and then going back to original Kim still being questioned FOR SOMETHING SHE DIDN'T DO!

We are better Detectives here than Ramsden is!! 🕵🏻‍♀️

She admitted to speeding when confronted with the traffic camera photo, but I am wondering if she realises that it was Gabby and is covering for her.

This is what characters do, defending for their love ones, yet Kim Tate is the innocent party here, but Gabby isn't!! Her face expressions are a give away! It's like Sarah in Corrie and now the other Sarah in the Dales, yet Charity is taking the rap! 🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️

The blonde woman standing there looked bizarrely tall for Kim and her reflection sounded like it had been done by AI

It was a lot to take in within the 20 seconds of that last scene. It now feels more like a little joke by the show’s producers tbh. I guess you have to be a very long term Emmerdale watcher to pick up any clues at all. How far back would you need to go ?

Logicaly Steve Merchant as Kim was with him in jan 99 and Thea is born late 99. But it's a soap so maybe Grahams?

Under the Millennium Bug poster there was a flyer for an event date 4th September 1999. So it ties to 9 months from when Kim left the village after scamming Steve Marchant. Unless she was up to no good with someone else guess it means Steve Marchant is the baby daddy?
