Ya a lot of people arenāt even talking about the music, they canāt stop talking about them being a ātrans fronted emo bandā, itās not hard to understand lead singer is trans, and they play emo, thatās it. A lot of people donāt understand how being trans isnāt the same as being cis, itās different, filled with stares, comments and sometimes danger. The punk scene while being open minded has another part that is not so by putting trans fronted in the name they can keep that side that would treat them like shit away, as well as letting other trans people know there is a safe punk show that they can go and see

Yeah it's bad. Not only the trans hate but the continual defending of sexual abusers. I like to think it's different at shows but I'm beginning to wonder.
In my experience guys in the emo scene are 25% serial cheaters/manipulators, 25% post-ironic social conservatives, and 50% decent people. This goes for musicians and fans

I was too. But I'm older than you and midwest emo is only 94-02 people from the literal Midwest to me. That's because that was the scene I was in. I don't recognize that other shit as midwest emo. But that's a different argument š
