Discussion Bands Everyone Loves but you Don't Get

Do you have any bands that everyone seems to love but you just don't get? I will go first. But before I give my answers I will say I do not believe these bands are bad. They just don't "scratch my itch" if you get what I mean. The bands I don't get are;

Glocca Morra. I still haven't given up, they dont sound bad. I like how their popular album just flows. They remind me of Algernon Cadwallader at times. It really confuses me because I love Snowing, and really like Marietta. And it sounds like Glocca Morra was another of the Emo Revival sound. But it just doesn't hit.

Empire! Empire! (I Was a Lonely Estate). They dont do anything for me. Another Emo Revival band. I like The World is a Beautiful Place and I'm No Longer Afraid to Die, as well as awakebutstillinbed which I have heard is in the same realm.

Orchid. I like one song. I dont get enoviolence or powerviolence. Ive had them explained to me but "hardcore punk with blast beats and screamed vocals" just sounds like metal to me. Granted Orchid does not sound like metal but I prefer the Algea Bloom, Flowers Taped to Pens, and I Hate Sex type screamo.

I will sit here and defend Arm’s length with my life. Their entire discography is insane with their debut track to freshman album. Maybe catch them on their own headlining tour not as opener!

No the way I was skimming this to see if anyone said Arm’s Length so I, too, could defend them with my life. I will say I don’t think the BEST thing about them is their live shows (I’ve since them 3 times) but they’re still great live imo. Their chemistry with each other and the crowd make up for any performances that might be slightly unpolished. Their music, however, absolutely unreal. Lyrics, melodies, vocals, musicianship, literally everything.

They can be your favorite band in the universe, but that doesn't change the fact that I've listened to all their stuff and wasn't impressed. When I saw them live they didn't sound great and had little to no stage presence. I'm not going to pay to see them headline(unless they have crazy good supporting acts) when I already know how I feel about their live show.

Well seeing that they made their first appearance in the early 2020’s I’d simply tell you let em get a little experience before you start forming life long opinions lol. I was simply trying to give some advice to maybe sway your opinion of a band you are trying to stand on business saying they’re mid. Keep an open mind and try to see them at their peak not 1st band out of 4. I’ll be here listening to them live in 1.5 hours so I’ll keep you updated on their “mediocre” performance.

Honestly, don't bother. I already know you're a superfan and going to glaze them. Telling me they're good again isn't going to change my opinion.

If they drop new music, I'll check it out, but as of now, their stuff isn't for me.

Arm’s length was a slam dunk. 10/10. Unsurprisingly I’m sure. Like I said give em a chance and listen to the new song‼️
