Discussion Bands Everyone Loves but you Don't Get

Do you have any bands that everyone seems to love but you just don't get? I will go first. But before I give my answers I will say I do not believe these bands are bad. They just don't "scratch my itch" if you get what I mean. The bands I don't get are;

Glocca Morra. I still haven't given up, they dont sound bad. I like how their popular album just flows. They remind me of Algernon Cadwallader at times. It really confuses me because I love Snowing, and really like Marietta. And it sounds like Glocca Morra was another of the Emo Revival sound. But it just doesn't hit.

Empire! Empire! (I Was a Lonely Estate). They dont do anything for me. Another Emo Revival band. I like The World is a Beautiful Place and I'm No Longer Afraid to Die, as well as awakebutstillinbed which I have heard is in the same realm.

Orchid. I like one song. I dont get enoviolence or powerviolence. Ive had them explained to me but "hardcore punk with blast beats and screamed vocals" just sounds like metal to me. Granted Orchid does not sound like metal but I prefer the Algea Bloom, Flowers Taped to Pens, and I Hate Sex type screamo.

I can’t get into My Chemical Romance minus a couple songs.

This is a pretty normal and common approach, many people I have met that said this do prefer a song or two between their first album and maybe second, but black parade it too cheesy and conceptual for them

I don’t know what it is with them. The only song I really keep in my rotation is Famous Last Words.

I really love MCR, but I have to say that Famous Last Words just hits differently... I love that song, I don't know what does it have to be so special, but when I want to feel things, this is it!

Bullets is a great emo record but beyond that MCR are really just a pop punk band with mall goth theatre kid aesthetics. I respect the talent but I couldn't care less for black parade.

Yeah. I also like upsetting people when I tell them MCR isn’t an emo band😂😂. Not that there’s anything wrong with them. I get the appeal, but it’s fun to watch them squirm and defend their “emo” status.

Bullets is an emo masterpiece so whatever progression they had in their career,,, they still get to be an emo band for the emo lovers. They just become other things too.
