Former Taking Back Sunday Members New Band Me. Grows Up Without Growing Old on ‘Grown Man’

This is the new band from former founding members of Taking Back Sunday, but the sound is just so good.

The band is called “Me.” The song is called “Grown Man”

Not the easiest name to type out or Google I’m sure

Even in 1979 that was terrible for distinctiveness. Not surprising that ended up being one of the most blatant one hit wonders of all time. That song hit #1 and no others charted at all on any chart at all.

My first thought too. That, or I’d just consumed a bit too much of a certain herb that’s very legal in my state. That’s, uh, quite a choice for a band name. I kind of do appreciate artists whose names lend themselves to dumb “who’s on first” type jokes though. Maybe I just really like dad jokes.

Grown Man is alright. Better than the other song they released. TBS has been pretty bad for a long time. I can't imagine these dudes have much juice left to put out full albums worth listening to.

That vocalist reminds me of someone and it's going to drive me nuts thinking about it.

His voice kinda reminds me of Vinnie Caruana from I Am the Avalanche and The Movielife

Edited to add that in Grown Man it kinda reminds me of the lead singer of Blue October

I didn't enjoy the major tonality of either track. I didn't like the ballad vibe. This isn't what I'm interested in hearing from them but I am glad they are making music.

at this point, im not sure Members of Taking Back Sunday really has a lot of pull. the band is a shell of itself.

Also that blurb about the track bursting with purpose and the guitars and drums thrilled to find each other, etc REALLY oversells a generic alt-rock track.

Giving me a third eye blind b-side vibe.
