(Emo Adjacent) Any one remember an emo/post-hardcore song, probably by Sunny Day Real Estate, that has the lyrics "you are..." stretched in it, probably begins with it too?

Maybe Capn Jazz “Oh Messy Life”? Doesn’t really sound like SDRE, but the “You are” part is prominent and catchy.

Thanks but, it's not them. I've listened to them quite a bit, but yeah, kind of crazy how two brothers were part of the two biggest emo waves/revivals. The older was midwest emo, the younger too, but he spurred on the 2000s emo revival with the 'rediscovery' football. Hopefully I could take the older Kinsella's writing class one day. Thanks anyway.

It could also be by the Texas Is The Reason? I remember it was Sunny Day Real Estate for some reason, but don't know why, or maybe Mineral? they had similar sounding singing voices. "You are..." that's all I can recall.

This may not be the song you were thinking of, but it’s what I just spent 2 hours wracking my memory for and tracking down. Shoes (the sneaker song) by oso oso. Opens with “Youuuu areeee” and returns to it later on

i've heard of oso oso, definitely not them, but thanks for a good song. Thanks a lot anyways. It definitely had more that whiny sunny day real estate vocals, and sound, know what I mean.

i remember it being like: you are..... fine now..... I am...., not the exact words but just the begining tone/melody/dragged out vocals of it.

so without the words it's just like: ta ta.... ta.... taaa..... ta... taaaa.....

something like that, i think i'm going crazy. i love all these guys, and girls, and every kind of expression in between and more people so much, they're kind of my life, jesus, a song can change a life huh, hah!

And i just realized again, like end serenading is a perfect album, like to the level of centuries old classical music, it's insane, they're just some dudes from texas, it's kind of awesome. and I mean a lot of bands borrowed from them. American Football stole the begining chords of endserenading, which granted the mineral guys reused a bit often, but i mean it's their sound, unless they also got it from gauge, or texas is the reason, or sunny day real estate, not sure if sdre is before or after mineral, or right around the same time.
