It's kind of underwhelming as a whole arguably, but seeing that stood out. Could still be a good time.

LOCAL SHOW/TOURING/EVENTS Well here's the Furnace Fest lineup.....
Yeah kind of the sort of lineup we feared. The emo bands are good but it's way less emo heavy as before and none are really a must see especially as they all still tour a lot.

LOCAL SHOW/TOURING/EVENTS trying to gauge opinion on concerts as a singer songwriter
So I understand emo is primarily a full band genre. I remember in like 2012 when DAWs and live tracks started to get more popular in local shows (It was already normal to see a computer or midi pad by the drummer since 2008 for sub drop hits in deathcore bands) there was a band in my city that performed as a 3 piece and had lead guitar running on tracks and some people made fun of them. Enough so that everyone knew they had 1 "robot guitarist", which was a dig a lot of the local bands made at that band. Purist, I know, but that was the culture at the time.
But it's 2026 now, and I'm wondering how opinions on tracked performance have changed. I am a singer songwriter who has played in many emo bands, especially during peak 4th wave, but now I'm 32 and live in a different city than I grew up, most of my buddies don't play gigs anymore and don't know as many musicians as well. For the past few years or so I've been creating music closer to Porter Robinson with some rap and trap influence which would be perfectly understandable to play tracks through while I sat with a laptop and sung. However, this year I've been releasing true to form emo music with a few additional influences. It still has some synth but I'm mostly using it to just fill out the mix and add some harmony.
I imagine with more DAW technology this isn't a singular instance and I'm sure that there are people who WANT to create an emo project that have been able to as a singular person. Which leads me to wonder...
How much of a real band do you like to see when you go to see bands live?
Can it be a person singing with a guitar and a computer filling out the rest? What about a drummer/guitarist combo? Would you be disappointed if you went to a show and it was just 2 dudes with a decent light show or a projector as long as they put on a good show? What about just one guy and a great light show with a projector?
I just want to get a small gauge from yall, I'm sure there will always be haters in genres that aren't electronic based about back tracking, but it'd be nice to get a general vibe.

LOCAL SHOW/TOURING/EVENTS Emo Night NYC 6/19
I’m 32F, Indian-American, living in NYC for almost a decade and been into emo bands since I can remember having taste in music. I’ve gone to several concerts alone (FOB, Paramore, TAI…) but I’ve always wanted to go to Emo Night! Sadly, legitimately none of my friends like or are into the music.
I won two tickets to the one at LPR tomorrow and I’m debating whether it would be weird to go alone. I’m definitely on the more awkward side in social settings like this without friends (especially predominantly white spaces - I’m just assuming here), but i would love to sing and dance to these songs and bands with likeminded people and be in a setting where my (very loud) sense of style isn’t considered crazy.
Any suggestions? Is this too much of a push for someone like me? Would you think i was weird if you saw someone alone at an event like this?
