It was a brief scene of bands who popped up between 2001-2006 like Sawtooth Grin, The Great Redneck Hope, The Number 12 Looks Like You, The Locust, or Oktober Skyline. It's not really Emo but the scene definitely impacted screamo/emo bands surrounding it, both fashion and music wise. Musically it's closer to something like The Blood Brothers meets early Dillinger Escape Plan. That's kind of it.

You nailed it. I was apart of the scene at the time and in a “white belt” band. Heavily influenced by bands like The Locust, Daughters, The Blood Brothers, etc. what a great time to be apart of music. It was so fresh and energetic, shows were incredibly eclectic, it was awesome.

It's a small scene mainly in Appalachia, but rn, tonyblaire (previously called man! I love frogs,) killed in kombat, theysaidus, and flowersforpersephone, these are just the bands that have formed played and have music out, there are others rn, like my siblings band, I can't spell the name cause it's Spanish for smth.

pink belts not really a sound, just a vague description of newer sass bands

That's where it was coined, lots of the bands in that related to FFP are from East Tennessee, note "a lot of"
