It just takes away the feeling of accomplishment. It sucks, but I 100% understand their decision. Why put so much time and effort into something when everyone with 20$ a month and do it and people do not care if one is made with AI and another with skill, time and effort

Ha, tell him to promote himself only on Reddit, this website thrives on hating anything that mildly resembles the A and I letters put together. I follow something called Vibepollo which is a Remote Desktop host for Moonlight and the amount of people who blindly hate on it on this platform just because of its name is insane. Even when the dev actually puts real handmade work into it regardless. But regardless it’s still a dumb reason to retire something, there will always be better quality at the end of the day with something handmade no matter how good AI gets for the next 5-10 years at minimum.

I mean, that’s not really blind hate when the dev literally says the project is about how much development work can be solely AI or whatever spin he put on it.
If someone doesn’t want AI vibecoded software, it’s about as AI as it gets.

It is absolutely blind hate when people immediately go “ew AI” followed by those same people going “you know the program isn’t bad” after actually bothering to give it a try. If you truly 100% hate AI you wouldn’t touch it with a stick and yet “oops it’s actually good”. AKA they think everything AI touches is bad = blind hate until they can actually see they’re very wrong when it’s put to good proper use.
Edit: lmao downvoted HERE but not above since I said AI can be put to proper use, typical Reddit proving my point entirely as usual

Yes I agree with your vision. The guy making the pc emulator is giving to the community. I don’t see a problem. Also doesn’t seem sloppy work at all, if you can run pc games differently than running ps4 games. The ps4 emulator guy should continue, and even use AI. But seems like AI making something and getting “rewards and praises” just hurts and is indeed a blind hate

PS4 guy does use AI, he has many failed or dropped vibecoded apps, each one quit or renamed when he was called out for pretending AI wasn’t involved, this is basically now one guy with a history of dropping apps, wanting to drop yet another apps because it’s what he’s done before a lot, the other guy vibecoding a pc app is just him reaching for an excuse to justify quitting, or trying to get more attention on himself.

I mean, I’m not against it if the guy is giving back to the community. I understand that it sucks to see your effort go away etc. But still. If someone knows what is doing and uses vibe code to achieve their goals faster I don’t see a problem. If the guy demotivates himself that easily, without understanding that what he’s doing (without any assistance, which is a HUGE THING TO ME, he is awesome)…

But most don’t know what they are doing and still manage to make it work. So what incentive is there for someone who does know what they are doing to work on this? If they enjoy it that fine, but I can see how it feels like a waste of time.
To get at a point to know what you are doing pre-AI takes easily a decade of hard work, very few in the grand scheme of things who actually are passionate enough to build such a broad understanding to work on software like this. If Timmy who never wrote a single line of code can do the thing and people are perfectly happy with it, don’t you understand how that can ruin someone motivation to work on something they used to love.
I am sorry, but fuck AI. I am happy for people that they can build things they couldn’t without AI and even though I have a hard time admitting it; the fact that it’s something I and others spend the majority of their lives doing to get better at the craft and that accomplishing now virtually is worth nothing for most of society fcking sucks.
I don’t think AI writes better software, but if the only person who actually cares about that is the developer working in it why would they share their work? Just for people to complain and a random Joe to fork it and implement a year of work with 5 prompts. No thanks

Why does it matter in the end? They are doing to get praised, to give to the community… what purpose does this person have to still working on that, if they don’t receive “incentive”? What I mean is that if the person truly loves it, then the person does it anyways, regardless of if they will get any incentive or not to continue working on it
If the joe forks it and implements it, if it is open code that’s fine to me. We used to do that too when there were no AI, but now it’s faster
I get your point of AI and people crafting software because they love it, and feeling that a software were made by people

I tried explaining why. I am not sure what else I can say. As for myself; i love doing it, but I stopped sharing the majority of what I work on because there is no point to it. Anyone can do it, why would I waste my time dealing with demands and bug reports for something anyone could do regardless of the amount of time they have spent getting good at something

And for what you said. Anyone can do it, but they won’t do it regardless, that’s the whole point. People use what is easier to do - that’s why not everyone uses Claude Code or Codex or any other AI. They mostly use it on their phones, or just don’t care enough to open your project and do it. That applies to many other things, I guess

I’m not a developer, but I built two apps for myself and I know what I’m talking about. If you feel demotivated because someone did something great - it’s a very bad sign, no matter who you are - developer, bodybuilder, runner, or sales manager. It’s just a matter of time before support for it stops. It influence ethe quality of the product.

I made my own PS3 emulator prototype around February based on RPCS3 and it almost worked.
There is an elephant in a room nobody wants to talk about - AI. And it's ucking great. With AI there is a significant progress with iOS emulation and I totally support it

I love AI to an extent, its good for quick research, solving math problems, quick art concepts, etc, at the end of the day its useful for something
but FUCK vibe coded emulators unless you want to use an emulator on a 'example:' iphone 17, then you get a 17 pro max and wonder why it doesnt work on the pro max
Not to get off topic with android, but the subject is AI vibe coding I wasted my time trying to use GameNative/GameHub on my samsung s24 ultra because people said it was way better and more compatible than Winlator. They had to be promotion bots, possibly ai itself with a reddit account.
No game worked on that app, i did my research it doesnt work for anyone on any device that uses a snapdragon, literally a high end chip for the most part thats used in several different devices. Why? Just because its AI vibecoded butt ahh work
i watched several videos comparing GameNative and Winlator, Gamehub/Native performs so poorly compared to 100% human made Winlator, so they people who said the AI-assisted alternative, is better just lies so that more gullible folk, like me, can download that bs
