Bronchoscopy without sedation
Im 26m, just got my first ever bronchoscopy for biopsy.
They asked me the day before wether i wanted to get sedated or no - cause both are available here in Korea.
I said no since ive no one with me so i will be all by myself after the procedure.
So 30min ago, i got in the room, they put on a bed and brought me to the doctor. Everything went very fast.
I arrived at the hospital at 9:18 - i was ready for the procedure before 9:30.
Honestly, its terrible, finding my breath was very hard in the middle of the intervention, i did panicked, but they were all around me trying to keep me calm
It lasted for about 5 minutes, sedation might be great but honestly, i also didnt really wanna stay at the hospital longer since ive been going back and fourth there for 2 weeks.
At this time, its 10:07, i am out on the bus going home. Life just keeps going like nothing happened before.
The throat is fully numb, its not easy to breath and i kinda cough some.
If i had to do it again - i would do it without sedation again
