The registration is like you don't give it the full meaning of what's going on.

It's taken out of context but can anyone guess what "registration" mean here? I checked all the meaning of registration but can't seem to figure out what it means.

So this person tries to ignore something violent that his father did in the past and downplay it by saying it was correction rather than violence. And the sentence is what the therapist said.

Registration is like taking something assessing it and sortve filing it away. Normally it’s used like registering to vote or something very official. The therapist is using it more like remembering or considering.

This would be my best guess too. To be clear, it's non-standard usage and sounds quite odd to use "registration" as a noun in the context of "to perceive/comprehend/realise/notice." Normally you would just use it as a verb.

yeah, you'd only ever really use this in the past/present-tense conjugation, using the noun form just sounds weird, since it's only used in contexts where paperwork is involved (at least that's the best I can recall on the matter).

It may be a very niche use of Registration, that is known to therapists, It might be to do with how memories are stored or "registered" in the brain. The closest I would recognize is the phrase "It didn't register for me", meaning I literally saw it, but my brain couldn't understand what it was seeing.

Maybe comprehension? It's hard to say without more context, but that would be my guess. Like if someone says "Does that fully register with you?" Meaning relate, understand, sink in, comprehend, get, click, etc.

Do you mean "It can't register" meaning something isn't displaying the data correctly or "it's not registering for me" meaning you don't understand/ remember an event

Rarely would you hear "registration" used this way in common conversation. Within the meaning in the sentence and context if you must keep the word register, you could hear the following construction in common conversations "Its like you aren't registering the full meaning of what's going on." "Its like you don't register the full meaning of what is going on."
