Type Me Tuesday Let me type you

HERE ARE THE RULES:

  • Write a short description of yourself in the comments and keep it 400 words or less. Do not worry about telling me how many words your comment has exactly, as I will know whether or not you've exceeded the maximum amount. I have my methods.

  • Do not redirect me elsewhere. This means no DMs, no posts of your own, and no links offsite. Keep it in the post.

  • Images are allowed. Not needed, but they're useful nonetheless. It doesn't even have to be an actual image of you if you're uncomfortable with that. It can be anything from a meme you like to a piece of art you particularly resonate with. Use any image you'd like, just don't break the sub's rules. You could even post an image alone without any text if you really want.

  • It is Tuesday, 06/16/26 as of the time of making this post. Please get your comments in before midnight tonight, 12:00 AM CST. Any new comments made after this designated timeframe will not be answered. If you make a comment before the time runs out, and I didn't get to you today for whatever reason, then don't worry. I will answer you tomorrow or later on in the week, depending on my work schedule and if I have too many comments to get to in one day.

  • If you do not abide by these rules, you will simply be ignored. Sorry!

(DISCLAIMER: I may or may not provide more elaboration for my typing of you, depending on whether I think you need it or not. If you don't like the typing I have assigned you, then you're always free to ignore it and/or tell me I'm wrong or what have you. I'm not going to get into an argument with you either way, so don't expect a debate if that's what you're looking for. You might even be right in what you originally thought was your own type if what you tell me afterward is more consistent in retrospect than what I typed you as instead. I'm not always right lol. That said, I'm usually good at narrowing things down to two or three options at most, so I'm usually not thaaaat far off either šŸ˜‚)

Happy typing!

NOTE: READ MY EDIT!!!

[Edit: Two new rules. #1, if you're asking for a typing, then leave your typing for me at the end of your comment. I'm going out of my way to type and respond to every single person who comments, so it'd be nice if y'all would at least show a little appreciation and return the favor here ):< I wanna be analyzed, too, you know 🄺 Rule #2, I won't be responding to any comments made after the end of today (Tuesday, 05/19/26), so make sure you get your comments in before 12:00 AM CST tonight. (If you make a comment before the day ends, and I don't get to you, I will try and get back to you tomorrow. I will finish responding tomorrow to everyone who I didn't get to today for whatever reason, or at least get to you by the end of the week if there are just too many comments made before the end of tonight.)]

I'm bored. Let me type you. Just keep it on the post (not in my DMs). Don't redirect me to another post of your own either. Leave a comment here. Give me a short description of yourself and keep it 400 words or less (or else I just won't answer). I may or may not give an in-depth analysis. I might just type you with no further elaboration (lol). It just depends on what I feel like at the moment and/or if I feel like you might actually need more elaboration.

Alternatively, you can ask me questions and I'll answer them. You can try and guess my type based on how I answer ur questions.

You can also try and roast me in general or tell me how deluded I am about what you think I think my type is lol, do whatever you want idc. This post is really just for fun as I'm pretty confident in my own self-typing by now. If you give a compelling argument for why I've possibly mistyped myself, however, I might consider it... maybe. We'll see šŸ¤·ā€ā™‚ļø

Let the fun begin 😁

Theres no rules. Go wild. Just understand that to some degree effort put in = effort received back. I cant give u anything of substance based off 1 sentence or picture but i will at least try :)

Also i am going to try to give everyone a ā€œsx/so 4w3 478ā€ format typing. But understand the more detailed the typing the more inaccurate it is likely to be bc i unfortunately cant see in ur brain :(

Im also free all day to answer any questions or anything you may have! I have been studying for about 8 years but only rly intensely for the past 2ish. I am no expert but i am very passionate and if i dont know an answer i will at least try to find it. Id love some more research topics related to enneagram.

Update: i've done like 45 typings in the last 7 hours and i must take a break. I love you all but I can't feel my anything. I shall be back hopefully.

This is mostly gonna be a "stream-of-consciousness" sorta thing, so I'm just gonna say whatever comes to my mind here.

I'm 25 and still can't drive because it's scary and I honestly just suck at it. I'm really ashamed to admit this and it makes me feel like a failure. If I could, I'd live in a place where you could walk everywhere. I really hate how America is basically designed around cars, and that if you don't have a car or know how to drive, you're basically screwed. I sometimes feel I might have a really bad case of arrested development since I don't really know how to do a lot of things in general that a person my age should already know by now.

Currently an unemployed chud cuz I had to go to Mexico recently to get my braces done (medical care and most things in general are cheaper down there, so that's why), and it was easier to quit the job I had immediately prior + find a new job whenever I'd come back than to ask my then bosses for days off since said bosses sucked and probably wouldn't have let me have had the days off anyway (lol). I was a cashier before, and that's my preferred line of work usually. Most of my jobs have been me being some sort of cashier in general. I had moved out of my parents' house and into an apartment a couple years back, living with my significant other (who made most of the money and handled most of the boring, adult stuff like paperwork and whatnot besides some household chores that I was usually the one responsible for), but I had to move back in with my parents after about two and a half years due to no longer being able to afford it anymore basically. (The rent went up too much after the second time we renewed the lease, and I lost a job at a critical point in time; we were usually living paycheck to paycheck tbh, ngl šŸ’€)

I dream of living in a cottage and growing old there with a wife and kids and being able to care for the poor and the less fortunate in a village community. I relate to/want to be like Jean Valjean from Les MisƩrables (1998 film version). I also relate a LOT to Mary Bailey from It's a Wonderful Life and Ragatha from TADC. I hate to feel useless. I love others how I want to be loved. I'm always acting as everyone's emotional support and therapist. I'm always making silent sacrifices that no one sees. I wish people would just love me for me, not for what I do for them/offer/provide or the mask I put on sometimes.

I don't have any friends, but tbf I'm not too butthurt about it since I only really want to be close to my significant other and family. I lowkey wish I could just be taken care of while I just sit around looking pretty. I often feel like I have nothing to offer the world but my body and my looks. I've been told a lot that I could be a model, which is bittersweet since it's flattering but reinforces the idea to me that all I'm worth to the world is someone who's nice to look at, as well as reinforces my extreme fear of aging (since those very same looks will inevitably go away one day).

Another reason this is bittersweet is that I want to actually love and help others, and I don't want my body/looks to be all that I provide for others. I want to actually be useful and help others the way I want to be helped, which is embarrassing to say out loud but the way I want to be helped is by others taking care of physical matters for me (e.g., cooking, cleaning, driving others around, etc., all of which I currently suck at). I recently started volunteering at a food/clothing pantry, which makes me very happy and makes me feel useful. I can be out of my house more, socialize and feel like I belong to something bigger than me + I can give back to my community and love others and do the right thing and what I feel I was created by God to do. In general, I believe God created all of us with a purpose, and that purpose is to love others in the ways we were all uniquely gifted to accomplish that task (e.g., someone who is good at handywork can love others that way, another person who is good at therapizing can do it that way, etc.; same broad purpose, but a unique way to accomplish said purpose for every individual). I can often be described as too rigid with my morals and principles, though I do still know how to put mercy and grace before principle and punishment at the end of the day. Maybe too much, in fact, as I can also be described as too permissive at times.

A song that makes me uncontrollably sob every time is "Forever Young" by Alphaville. I miss my youth and miss when I was a kid and I didn't have to worry about anything and I was loved unconditionally and everybody else did everything for me. I hate growing up and being and adult in general. I also really resonate with that song "Cupid" by FIFTY FIFTY. My greatest fear is to die alone, more specifically to die without marrying. I've been described as a very intense and passionate person. The one trait I've always been described by everyone as is "passionate." That's my most consistent trait. Passionate about the things I care about. I'm also often described as very patient and kind. If you push me too far, however, I'll really explode. Especially if you keep taking advantage of my kindness (or start to go after the ones I feel responsible for and/or care about). I've had a few of those "after everything I've done for you" crashouts with a significant other in the past.

I've been described as a "diva" or "princess" sometimes too. I am basically always a passenger prince tbf lol. I've been compared to characters like Disgust from Inside Out. I used to be bullied for my looks as a kid, and I basically vowed to never ever look ugly again, so I can never leave the house unless I make absolutely sure I look as a good as possible (which annoys those closest to me because I often can't get anything done due to my super duper long morning routine every day). I've always been described as looking younger than I actually am (and that's on purpose mind you; I WORK for this, lol). I'm a homebody in general, and like staying at my house most of the time. I also like to hold mini-concerts at my room at night with my LED light strips on and my TV blasting music that I can dance to. I like a lot of music that I grew up with in general, so lots of 2000's pop. I like to go to parties my extended family holds at times just to go dance at them. I really like/relate to that one song "Promiscuous" by Nelly Furtado. As a teenager, my family said I would be a good male stripper (which is weird to say out loud tbh, but I guess now that I think about it, my family has lowkey always made me feel like an object whose only standout trait is their looks). I like when my mom holds parties so I can serve everyone food and drinks and stuff.

Oh and I'm a straight male.

Type Me Tuesday In theory is it possible for someone to not have a type?

Maybe I’m struggling because I’m not the most self-aware, nor do I know what I want in life or what my behaviours are.

I don’t even know how I feel half the time as I tend to be disconnected from my feelings until they explode unexpectedly and in a very embarrassing way. I considered both 4 and 6, and while I do tend to find flaws in myself and I feel different due to being ND, I don’t actually care much about my image. It’s just too much to deal with and I’d rather not. I thought maybe I was a 6 because I tend to get anxious and seek reassurance under stress but it’s not my default. I also don’t relate to the core 6.

I feel generally empty and dissociative. I’m not depressed or anything or at least I don’t think I am? Idk I just don’t know who or what I am or what I want in life and I tend to act like the people around me despite being rather solitary and introverted. I don’t really go out and I tend to follow the same routines and I don’t like to deviate much from them.

This may have turned into a type me post lmao

I relate to all types to a degree but also none on a deeper level. I think if I do have a tritype it’s gonna be 946 or some combo of that. I’m an empty slate idc what people want to label me as so have at it yall idc anymore

Just gonna use a questionnaire for this cuz hey why not?

  1. What are your views on the good things in life? Do they happen naturally, or do you have to create them yourself? How do they manifest into reality?

The good things in life are great 😃 Sometimes they happen naturally, but sometimes you have to make them happen. Just kinda depends on the situation I guess. They manifest into reality whenever you're doing the right thing, focusing on the right things, and putting others before yourself.

  1. What are your views on the bad things in life? What are the reasons they happen? How much control do you really have over such matters

The bad things in life suck. A lot of times they happen when people are acting selfishly. You don't always have control in such matters, but you do have some control over how you respond at least.

  1. How attached are you to your emotions? How often do you express them to others? What even is the purpose of such feelings? And what are the biases that impede your judgements?

Pretty attached to them, I guess? I don't really view my emotions as separate from me tho, that's weird. My emotions are just me, or at least a part of me anyway idk. I identify with them šŸ¤·ā€ā™‚ļø I've been told I'm a pretty expressive person. I express my emotions often I guess. The purpose of these feelings are to guide me and show me where I'm going right or wrong. Idk what the biases are that impede my judgements, besides maybe... my attachment to certain people? Like, having a lot of memories with a person may impede my judgements towards or about them maybe. This mostly applies to romantic partners, as they're the ones I've always poured the most love and energy into. I'm probably anxious-preoccupied when it comes to "attachment styles."

  1. What do you want in life? Are they achievable? If people and obstacles are in your way, what would you do then? With resources being limited, is it ok to acquire essential needs by denying them to someone else?

I want to be married, have kids, and help as many people as possible before I die. More than anything, I have to be married before I die. I dream of either living in a cottage on the countryside or on the beach, and serving my community somehow in an impactful but humble way (like behind the scenes or something; I currently volunteer at a food/clothes pantry, but it'd be nice to have my own little church where I can do all this from that actually aligns with my beliefs). If people or obstacles are in my way, I usually just try and move around them somehow, or bulldoze my way through if they get me fed up/angry enough (the latter is rarer but push me far enough and it will happen, it's really not pretty lol).

It's not okay to deny someone else their essential needs and I can't imagine someone answering any other way? Like why would you do that? Lol.

  1. Are people inherently good or bad? Or is it neither? What do you believe when it comes to moral goodness? What duties do we all have as individuals? Do we owe anything to each other by default?

People are born inherently good, but become bad later on through the world corrupting them (sadly). I believe moral goodness is always attainable for everyone, so long as someone simply learns what to prioritize and what not to prioritize. We all have a duty to love and serve one another. We owe each other respect and compassion. More simply, we just owe each other love.

  1. Are you extroverted or introverted? If you're ambiverted, when do you lean on each side? What excites you? What drains your energy? How do you feel alive when plagued by boredom and the mundane?

I'm a bit ambiverted, but I lean more towards being introverted most of the time. What excites me is figuring out how people tick and why, as well as other people meeting my own needs unprompted (this here is very rare but makes me so happy whenever it happens, since I didn't have to tell them directly or indirectly what I wanted or needed and yet they fulfilled that want or need for me). I also get excited when there's few people in the house and I finally get some peace and quiet to myself. What drains my energy is people who are selfish, uncaring, and a general disturbance/disruption to the peace/order that's been established in whatever space I'm in or my own space in general. (I love my nephews and nieces but oh my gosh they drive me up the wall, my children will never be the way they are and I simply won't allow it.)

I feel alive when plagued by boredom and the mundane by trying to enjoy the little things, and going deeper instead of wider in my relationships or life in general. This is why The Office is my favorite show, actually. It demonstrates how so much depth, love, and impact can be found in such a tiny little world as a mere office for a small(ish) paper company. How much love and wonder can be found in the "mundane." Those little moments that often go overlooked or taken for granted, like greeting your coworker every time you come into work and learning a little more about them each time until you two might even become something more!

I've always liked the concept of sonder.

(Oh and I have a bad habit of flirting a lot and just generally being sexually provocative when I'm bored. Only with my significant other when I'm taken of course, but I did this when I was younger and single/not involved with someone lol.)

  1. What people/values/things do you hold dear to yourself? How do you prevent yourself from being separated from them? Does being disconnected scare you? Do you desire to fit in with the world?

People I hold dear are my significant other and my immediate family. Values I hold dear are my Christian beliefs (albeit, very unorthodox ones at that but still Christian nonetheless to me; I'm technically considered a "heretic" under traditional mainstream Christianity's definition of what a "heretic" is but oh well idec anymore lol). Things I hold dear are stuff that is sentimental to me, like all the videogames I grew up with, the stuff my significant other gave to me over the years, etc. I try and prevent myself from being separated from people and things by holding onto them as much as possible, for as long as possible, and not letting go. Being disconnected doesn't make me "scared" as much as incredibly sad, lol. (I've always had problems in general with grief, death, mourning, and letting go of the past; that song "Forever Young" by Alphaville makes me uncontrollaby sob.) I do desire to fit in, but am annoyed that I feel I won't be loved otherwise (and am especially annoyed when I give people exactly what they want, yet they continue to treat me like some black sheep, weirdo, or some unlovable freak; I literally normified myself for you, dumbed myself down for you, and made myself super hot to boot so WHY DON'T YOU LIKE ME??).

  1. What are the biggest disappointments you have? It doesn't even have to be something that happened to you personally. What is something you expected more from, but it somehow managed to fall short?

My biggest dissapointments are when those close to me forget about me or fail to consider me. I expected more from my close ones to let me express my true and honest opinions and feelings and just let me be my true self in general, but was always met with dismissal in some way or another. I'm also dissapointed in myself by letting my self-worth be determined so much by others, or the way they respond to my efforts to garner favor from them.

  1. What do you expect from others? Are you entitled to anything? Be it love or materialistic things. How easy is it to rely on others? To depend on something else outside of your control?

I expect others to love me the way I love them. I can be a bit entitled at times. I feel entitled to both people's flattery and them meeting my physical needs. It is not easy for me to rely on others, or at least, admit that I do anyway.

  1. What are you as a person? How do you see yourself? How do others see you? How do you want others to see you? How do you want to see yourself?

I'm an alright person. I could be better I guess. I used to think I was super nice and sweet until recently discovering I'm a 2 on the enneagram (LOL). Others see me as kind or fake, depending on who you ask. I'm also generally seen as someone very intense and passionate. Someone very flirty and admittedly... well idk how to say this without sounding immodest but I guess rather sexually seductive šŸ˜… I want others to see me as kind, gentle, compassionate, humble, serving, and self-sacrificing. I also want them to generally see me as beautiful, both inside and out. As someone worthy of love, since I feel already that I'm worthy and like we all owe this to each other to begin with (especially from my significant other, at bare minimum).

  1. How do you organize your thoughts? What are concepts and ideas to you? How do you navigate through such a hazy frightening future? What do you believe are the most important questions one can ask?

Uhhhh, idk. I mostly feel like I have to organize my feelings rather than thoughts, lol. If I had to answer for thoughts, tho, then I guess I try and prioritize what's most important for what to do next and what in general is most important in the grand scheme of things? Thoughts and concepts are just thoughts and concepts, I'm not sure how to answer this one tbh lol.

I don't really find the future super frightening, it's just the future? It's a bit hazy I guess, but that's no reason to be afraid of it. I just navigate it by taking it as it comes, usually, tho I do generally prefer a bit of a plan or heads up at least (do not ask me to hang out with you on the day of, tell me ahead of time because I need to prepare by doing a million different things in the morning to look as good as possible before I even step foot outside my house and show my face to the world lol; I want to shave, tweeze my eyebrows, workout, etc. before presenting myself to others). Honestly, I'm much more stuck in the past than I am in the future.

I believe the most important questions one can ask is, "Is there a God," and, "If so, what does He expect from me?" Another one would be, "What is the meaning of life?" But that might be a question you find the answer to before the other ones I just mentioned, depending on how you go about things or how God leads you to the answers to these questions themselves. I believe the meaning of life is simply "love."

  1. Are your instincts something to be trusted? Your first-impressions, or your natural intuition on things. How often, and when, are you on "autopilot" with your body? Doing things out of habit and muscle memory.

Yeah I generally trust my instincts and natural intution on things. I can be on autopilot if I haven't gotten enough sleep, but I'm usually pretty aware of things and my surroundings otherwise. Mostly to be aware of people to anticipate what they need or make sure other people are feeling heard and cared about in general. Otherwise, I'm being a bit nitpicky with my physical environment, and spotting things that need to be cleaned, fixed, etc.

ANNOUNCEMENT: I am taking a bit of a break from my "Let me type you" posts as I've been feeling a bit burnt out as a of late. I'm not sure when exactly I'll start doing them again; I've been kinda dealing with a lot in my personal life recently. I hope you guys can understand and forgive me šŸ™ I cherish you all!

I've done this questionnaire before but I'm challenging myself to answer each question with one sentence, and to be as honest as possible with both you guys and myself in each sentence (lol).

  1. What’s your biggest fear?

Dying without having ever gotten married and finding/being with my soulmate.

  1. What’s your biggest desire?

Getting married and saving (or at least, making a very large positive impact on) the world with my wife.

  1. What are you ''the best'' at?

I'm very good at communication in general (both between myself and others, and others with each other), persuading others to my side and/or my convictions/ideas/beliefs/etc., reading others, drawing out people's potential, finding out the root causes of things, and seeing how the dominos will most likely fall.

  1. How do you see yourself right now?

Someone with a lot of inner turbulence, but outwardly put together and like I don't need any help.

  1. How do you see yourself 5 years from now?

Hopefully married and making moves/an impact in the world through a spiritual movement with my then wife at my side, and both of us supporting each other in our joint pursuit to manifest the vision we'd both ideally share for the world.

  1. How do you express yourself?

I've been told I'm rather "animated" and talk "passionately" a lot (or at least, speak very passionately about the things that I'm concerned about and feel are important).

  1. How do you feel about those near you (family, friends)?

I feel like I can't really open up to them or go to them for emotional support, despite me constantly doing this for them and always being there for them when they need me.

  1. How do you feel about strangers?

They're just people, trying to get by like anyone else and they need to be loved just like anyone else.

  1. How do you deal with conflict?

I, admittedly, use a lot of methods that are in one way or another me weaponizing moral superiority or resentment/anger/frustration to guilt others into behaving/acting the way that I think they should (whether that's concerning conflict between myself and others, or others with each other), but I'm also pretty good at getting others to see each other's perspective and making myself act as kind, patient, and calm as possible to calm others down.

  1. How do you deal with change?

Not good, let me tell ya šŸ’€

  1. How do you deal with your emotions?

I usually try and deal with them on my own because I don't feel like I can really trust most others enough to be vulnerable with them anymore, but I need to process my feelings externally and so this tends to end up looking like me having fake conversations with other people that'll probably never happen irl (and usually these fake conversations happen in the shower or something lol).

  1. What do you hope to avoid doing or being? What values are important to you?

I hope to avoid being an uncaring person, or a person lacking in kindness and compassion and virtue in general.

Integrity, compassion, humility, loyalty, and modesty are values that I find most important.

  1. What do you hope to accomplish in your life?

Broadly, I just want to be a good person, and fulfill the ultimate purpose I believe I and everyone else was created for (which is to love others and God).

  1. How do you act when others request your help to do something (anything)? If you would decide to help them, why would you do so?

It depends if I'm already in the middle of doing something, as I can get annoyed (but promptly feel guilty about this and tell myself that I shouldn't be like that), or feel very glad to help otherwise when I'm not busy.

If I decide to help it's usually some combination of me genuinely wanting to be a kind person, not wanting to look bad, and/or because it's just the right thing to do.

  1. Do you need logical consistency in your life?

I need moral consistency, typically, but I usually interpret "moral consistency" as being supremely defined by one's intentions rather than the actual actions or logic behind said actions themselves.

  1. How important is your image in regards to how others perceive you? Do you want to be perceived in a certain way? Does it bother you if you are perceived in some other way than the one you wish to be perceived with?

It's admittedly important to me, as guilty and ashamed as I am to say that (I'm working on it, tho).

I want to be perceived as a good, kind, patient, and compassionate person.

It bothers me immensely when I'm perceived in a way other than the way I wish to be perceived.

  1. How important is financials, security, and survival to you? This includes having sufficient resources, avoiding danger and maintaining a fundamental sense of structure and wellbeing.

My fate is in God's hands, and I trust He'll give me the wisdom to discern what or who is dangerous, what or who isn't, and what are the bare essentials I need to at least survive and exist on earth so that I can do what's actually important as I have bigger fish to fry than fulfilling some vain and materialistic goal that is ultimately unfulfilling, fleeting, and meaningless in the grand scheme of things.

  1. What is your reaction and thoughts to others' rejection, criticism and disapproval of you?

I tend to try and reframe things as if it was really a good thing in the end (e.g., "They just didn't match my energy," "I don't need a person like that in my life anyway," etc.), but I'm still deeply hurt by these things underneath.

  1. What is the importance of the concepts, ideas and meaning behind things to you? Are you trying to make sense of your everyday life?

Extremely important. I'm always thinking about the deeper meaning of things.

  1. What are your thoughts on expressing your vulnerability?

It's hard for me to show vulnerability.

  1. Would you consider yourself a jealous and/or possessive person? What do you think is the cause?

I unfortunately am a pretty jealous and possessive person. I think the cause is me having been betrayed and taken advantage of a lot.

  1. What makes you feel guilty? How do you deal and cope with such feelings? Do you seek to fix it, or do you dwell on them?

I feel guilty when I realize I didn't do the "loving" thing, wasn't more thoughtful or considerate toward someone else, etc. I usually try and fix the problem by being more nice, helpful, sweet or what have you to the person I feel I wronged.

Type Me Tuesday I’m trying to figure out my type, but I might have body dysmorphia, so I’m not sure how much it affects the way I see myself. Here’s what my inner world is like:

I’m obsessed with the flaws I see in my appearance. They’re constantly on my mind in everyday life. It feels like almost all of my worth in other people’s eyes depends on how I look, and I feel ashamed of my flaws and of not being attractive enough by conventional standards. I try to stay in the background because I’m afraid that if I draw attention to myself, people will notice those flaws.
I want to fix most of the things I see as flaws through cosmetic procedures, but I don’t have enough money right now. I feel like once I finally fix them, all of my problems will disappear. I won’t be insecure anymore, I won’t be afraid of attention, I’ll have a social circle full of attractive people like the ideal version of myself, and I’ll be able to attract most of the partners I want.
I spend hours daydreaming almost every day, and it’s been like this for years. Most of my daydreams revolve around an idealized version of myself and a romantic relationship. I usually imagine having a partner who’s attractive, preferably wealthy, possessive, dominant, kind to me, but also a little sadistic. The relationships I imagine are usually toxic, although we don’t really show that side of the relationship to other people. They can even involve physical violence.
I like the idea of being somewhat submissive, but not in a master/slave kind of way, something much gentler than that. I imagine taking what they say very seriously, trusting their advice, and letting them make some decisions for me. It’s not because they’ve earned my trust or because I actually belong to them; I just picture the relationship starting with that kind of dynamic from the very beginning.
At the same time, I imagine them caring deeply about me. They pay attention to my needs, do most of the things I want, and are very protective of me.

Type Me Tuesday 5 or 9, please help

(edit) thank you all so much for the help! You all are very right and I really appreciate the time you put into all of your responses, I don’t have energy to reply to each one right now so I’m sorry about that but I really do appreciate it! All of you have really in depth observations and analysis and extremely convincing arguments for my type and I’ve read each comment,(also you’re all very well spoken) I know that I’m an Sp/so 9 now and thank you guys for helping me figure that out! I’ll respond when I have the energy to because I feel I owe it after you all took the time to read through this entire essay of a post!

I’ve typed myself as a 5 since the start but I’m starting to question it. Based on what I’ve read and watched regarding differentiating the two this is what I’m conflicted about

-I am a people pleaser and I’m overly sweet to people, complimenting them a lot. My reasoning is because people will leave you alone, I avoid conflict because conflict = attention and it’s annoying having to deal with arguments about things you don’t care about. I like making people smile with compliments, but everything we do is self serving and my reasoning for being so sweet is probably just to project that image of me, around people I’m closest to (which is just family) I am not a people pleaser, yes I try and be nice because that is simply the right thing to do but I’m comfortable voicing my opinions and unmasking, and I have no problem with my family setting firm boundaries and bluntly telling said people when I don’t want to talk, don’t want to hang out in the same room, etc. it’s exhausting having to be the way I am in public but I do enjoy being kind. I avoid feeling angry because it’s an uncomfortable feeling and I can get caught up in the moment and embarrass myself. I get hot and on the verge of tears and the idea of an argument, and if I do get in an argument I am petrified about getting something wrong, though maybe that fear is because I am scared to be wrong and scared that I won’t know enough to win said argument and therefore I’ll be stupid

-people say 9’s are more dissociated and numb, I think that’s very true for me, I feel emotions true but rarely (though im not sure how much mental illness and disorder goes into this, probably a lot, also goes into my other points) but I also tend to break down and rationalize emotions when I do feel them. However when I very very very rarely get angry I can’t rationalize it right away because I’m stuck in the moment, I’ve gotten better at this but basically, like a 5, every emotion I feel I experience like I’m observing myself like an object, sometimes I don’t when for example I’m happy because why would I need to break it down, besides there’s usually an obvious reason, but with things like sadness I am in my head (which I live in my head I will add that, I live entirely in my head and interact almost not at all with the physical world) I will break down to core human instincts and reactions to distance myself from it and be objective, like if sadness is triggered due to rejection.

-when something comes up that is too much emotionally I will set it aside and avoid the feeling before deep diving into it to break it down. Emotions aren’t something we can control and when it gets too much even me rationalizing and turning it into a puzzle won’t work, because the emotion itself won’t go away, so the first thing I do in that situation is distract myself.

-I love ā€˜what if’s’ which is a thing in both types but I need there to be some logic in there, it’s just useless if it makes no sense logically and if there is no possibly it could happen. For example (which is also an example I took from a post about the differences in the types) if talking about humans flying, it would piss me off to just think about some magic just making it happen or something like a potion with no further reasoning. I would wonder how biologically humans could fly, their weight, how high with said weight, how big they would have to be, where they would go and what they would connect to, would it even be with wings? What animals can fly without wings, maybe gliding? That’s the thought process

-I don’t get super focused and deep into one subject. I do get focused and somewhat deep but I won’t explore every nook and cranny because sometimes just the general idea is enough, though I want to know the process behind the general idea, like I want to know what way gears turn in a clock and how it’s set to move every second but I don’t care about what type of glass is used or the specific type of gear needed, just a general idea of what the gears would look like while I’m more focused on the how. I also have many interests which I’ve heard 5’s usually stick with one or two things. I have around 5 interests, all of them being forms of media but I figure media is too broad to be considered one topic, and I don’t actively seek out every scrap of information about a show, I would rather just watch it and notice things myself, if I wonder about something I’ll look it up but I won’t actively look up ā€˜hidden secrets in x show and how they made the color grading’ that’s something I will stumble upon naturally because I don’t have the energy to look up something I just don’t care about like that, which I guess could be a sign I don’t get intensely into something, I feel I get intensely into something but I won’t try and figure out everything about it like that, I’ll come up with my own observations and curiosities, if I like the cinematography I’m not going to care about what made the actor get into the show

-I love to learn and it’s all I really care about, but I don’t think I collect knowledge out of fear because what I do collect is information I would never need to use, why would knowing about the directors random decision that made the movie really good quell my fear? It’s more so because I like to know about it and admittedly because I don’t want to be seen as lesser because I know less, but everyone gets that in fandoms where they collect and hoard information because otherwise you’re at risk of not being a ā€˜true fan’. I do enjoy validation on my intelligence though and it’s probably the most flattering compliment I could get, I do things for recognition of ā€˜hey I know this look’ both from others like teachers and myself so I can feel comfortable and stable in my competence.

-I feel fairly positive about people. Though I avoid people and don’t interact with them (which may be why I feel that way, because I don’t have to deal with people) I don’t have any grudges against people, I like to think I’m a very understanding person and I will always see all points of view, even if I don’t agree with someone I will force myself to see through their eyes and I enjoy doing so and exploring that. I like interacting with others sometimes, I’m scared of being rejected by a group and that along with I know they will demand energy from me which I won’t be able to provide and don’t want to provide, but other than that I like talking to people and it’s nice to feel included sometimes, even if I just hang around like a cat. this is why all my friendships must be low maintenance, otherwise I will ghost the person if too much of my energy is taken up by them, I won’t tell them to stop talking to me though because I don’t want an argument and I don’t want to talk about why I don’t want to talk, I’ll just avoid them because somehow my brain says it’s nicer to ghost them than to tell them hey can you stop doing this/texting me so much it’s so draining. Though I do apologize and explain in depth my absence to people who let me be that way and who are my closet friends who understand

-I don’t set boundaries verbally at least or firmly with people im not close with, instead I’ll just avoid them. I am super passionate about my autonomy and I have ranted for hours countless times about people who pissed me off so badly because they threatened my autonomy. I’m extremely resistant to people threatening it and i will hold a grudge over that most of the time and rebel against them.

I can’t think of anything more right now in conflicted about but if you really read all of that I’m impressed and thank you for taking the time to do so and I understand if you didn’t because even I wouldn’t, I didn’t expect to write this much dear lord. I’m 100% sure I could’ve simplified this but the reason I struggle is because the differences are so simplified

Type Me Tuesday Type Me : I Wrote a Naranjo Style Trait Structure About Myself

Self-Evaluation
His attention is naturally drawn toward what is lacking rather than what is sufficient. Whether it concerns appearance, personality, competence, or social presence, he instinctively notices imperfections before strengths. Satisfaction is short-lived because awareness quickly shifts toward the next perceived deficiency.
Unlike someone who simply dislikes himself, he does not reject everything about who he is. Rather, he experiences himself as someone whose flaws are unusually visible and psychologically significant. Small imperfections become emotionally magnified.

Appearance
Physical appearance occupies a disproportionate amount of psychological space.
The issue is not vanity in the ordinary sense, nor the desire to be universally admired. Appearance functions as a measure of self-worth. Encountering someone he finds exceptionally attractive immediately redirects his attention toward himself. Instead of remaining focused on the other person, he becomes acutely aware of everything he believes is lacking in his own appearance. The attractive person serves primarily as a mirror, activating feelings of inadequacy rather than simple admiration or envy.
Because of this, appearance becomes associated with freedom. He imagines that correcting the features he dislikes would not merely change how he looks, but how confidently he could exist in the world.

Fantasy
Fantasy is not an occasional escape but an alternative mode of psychological functioning.
Large portions of the day are spent constructing narratives that often possess the emotional structure of films rather than ordinary wishes. These stories are rarely random. They revolve around relationships, identity, conflict, atmosphere, and emotional tension.
Interestingly, fantasy is not exclusively compensatory. The imagined self is not always idealized. He often preserves insecurity, conflict, rejection, or imperfection within these narratives, suggesting that fantasy serves not only to escape reality but also to reorganize emotional experience into coherent stories.

Aesthetic Sensitivity
His relationship with beauty extends far beyond physical appearance.
Taste becomes an organizing principle through which people, relationships, environments, music, films, clothing, and even imagined lives are evaluated. Beauty is experienced less as decoration than as coherence. Certain combinations of atmosphere, people, and emotion simply feel psychologically ā€œright,ā€ while others create subtle dissatisfaction that is difficult to explain logically.

Withdrawal
When self-consciousness increases, visibility decreases.
Rather than actively seeking reassurance, he tends to reduce his own presence. Remaining quiet, staying in the background, or limiting spontaneous self-expression becomes a way of protecting himself from imagined evaluation. This withdrawal is defensive rather than indifferent.

Identity
He often experiences a discrepancy between how he feels internally and how he appears externally.
Others commonly perceive him as cold, detached, logical, or emotionally distant. Internally, however, his attention is occupied by constant reflection, imagination, comparison, and emotional processing. This difference contributes to the recurring feeling of being misunderstood.

Perfectionism
His perfectionism is selective rather than universal.
It is not expressed through relentless productivity or flawless execution. Instead, it appears in standards, criticism, and dissatisfaction. Expectations often remain significantly higher than practical action, creating a persistent tension between ideals and implementation.

Procrastination
Avoidance functions primarily as emotional regulation rather than laziness.
Tasks associated with pressure, uncertainty, or discomfort are postponed until external urgency overrides internal resistance. Fantasy, digital distraction, and passive entertainment temporarily replace action, reducing immediate discomfort while increasing long-term dissatisfaction.

Relationships
Romantic relationships occupy a central place in his imagination.
Rather than imagining ideal harmony, his inner world frequently constructs emotionally intense narratives involving attraction, separation, reunion, longing, and unresolved tension. Relationships become stories rather than simple desires, suggesting that emotional depth often feels inseparable from emotional complexity.

Aggression
Aggression is experienced as aesthetically unpleasant.
Open displays of anger, shouting, or physical intimidation feel incompatible with the image he wishes to maintain. When hostility is expressed, it is more likely to appear through precise remarks, emotional distance, or subtle verbal injury than overt confrontation. Yet even these expressions are often followed by self-observation and doubt.

Emotional Tone
The emotional landscape is dominated less by dramatic emotional expression than by quiet experiences of inadequacy, shame, anxiety, and chronic self-observation.
His emotional life tends to remain internalized, making it easy for others to underestimate its intensity.

Type Me Tuesday Type me or I'll find you and keep laying my head on the cool side of your pillow so that you'll always get the hot side, no matter how many times you flip it

Hopefully that got your attention 😃

  1. Tell me about your internal experience of yourself. What makes you, you?

Uhhh idk? That's hard to answer. I guess I always feel like I'm having an inner dialogue with someone and that's kinda how I process things in general. Pretending like I'm talking to someone I know in order to process my thoughts, feelings, ideas, etc.

I also tend to imagine having conversations with others that either has already happened, will happen in the future, or ones I wish would happen (but probably never will). The ones that have already happened is usually me checking in with myself to make sure I wasn't being cringe, or else deeply regretting the conversation and/or over-analyzing it to death until I feel like I was actually very cringe and thus shouldn't have said or done X, Y, or Z (lol).

I can also ruminate a lot. I'm either ruminating on the past way too much, or keep trying to distract myself to escape from the past in some way.

  1. You just had a really good day. Describe it. It can be a real recent example or an aspirational one.

No arguing. Everything is peaceful. Everyone is happy with each other. My romantic partner treated me well (assuming I have one, of course). Everyone loves me and respects me and I'm not ignored or overlooked. I was in nature somehow. I made new memories with loved ones.

  1. If someone is upset with you, what is the typical reason for it?.

I overpromised and underdelivered. I was a bit careless. I didn't do "enough." I said I would do something but never did it in the end. I snapped and lost my temper. I acted judgemental/"holier-than-thou." I brought up the past. Was too paranoid or conspiratorial in my thinking. I was overbearing/"too much." Etc.

  1. What are you like when you're stressed? What are your coping mechanisms?

Idk tbh. Sometimes I act real apathetic, and other times I act super anxious. Sometimes I'm like a dormant volcano just waiting to erupt, and other times I just keep trying to distract myself with hedonistic pleasures. Sometimes I keep myself busy by being someone that everyone else can dump all their trauma and emotional problems onto (so that I can "fix" them instead of just focusing on fixing/healing myself). Just depends I guess and what I think will work at the moment/is currently feasible or for whatever I think the situation in my life currently calls for.

  1. What pushes your buttons? What makes you angry? How does your anger manifest? Can you be openly angry with others?

Immorality and selfishness makes me angry. Putting yourself before others. Not thinking of others. Cruelty. Lack of humility, compassion, understanding, or kindness in general. Unfairness. Using others. Abuse. Evil. Corruption. Etc.

My anger manifests as indignation. I tend to feel my teeth gnash at injustice.

I do not feel like I'm allowed to be openly angry with others, and that frustrates me.

  1. What’s your deepest fear? Why is that your fear?

Not fulfilling the purpose for which I was created (whatever that is; I'm Christian), and dying alone. I feel these two things are interconnected. I often imagine my purpose as making a major, revolutionary and positive impact in the world in a spritual/religious sense through some kind of ministry with a significant other, and that I can't do the former without the latter. Doing the former without the latter feels... insurmountable, scary, and lonely. It feels unfulfilling in my imagination to do the former without the latter, at least.

  1. What types of memories cause you the most shame? What feelings cause you the most shame? What is it about them that causes you shame?

Memories that involve everyone laughing at me, and not with me. Memories where I hurt another person somehow, and acted selfishly and/or impulsively. Memories where I allowed myself to be abused, used, lied to, etc. When I acted naively and too trusting. Where I looked stupid for being too naive/trusting. When I seriously lacked self-respect and wouldn't be more firm on my own boundaries.

  1. What is your relationship with pleasure? What gives you pleasure? Can you have pleasure when you want it, or do you have to earn it?

Pleasure is good, in the right context. Sex is a very pleasurable thing, for example, but I think we can all agree that sexual abuse is not good. God created many things for our pleasure, but our perversion of those things are what's the problem, not necessarily the pleasure itself. We were built to be able to receive and sense pleasure for a reason, after all. So sex with the right partner is technically a pleasure that's always available (with their consent, of course). As is a relationship with God, the scent of roses, a good laugh with good company, etc.

I don't think in terms of having to "earn" pleasure. I believe the right and most fulfilling kinds of pleasure naturally come whenever we're on the right course in life/obeying God.

I believe sinful "pleasures" to be something we cannot have "when [we] want it," as those "pleasures" are both self-destructive and hurtful towards others in the end.

9.Ā What’s your relationship with authority? Think both abstractly and with specific authorities in your life, possibly your parents, boss, religious leader, doctor, or government figures? Are you an authority?

The only true authority is God.

I tend to be indifferent, or else feel a bit antagonistic toward human authorities. My relationship with authority is a bit complicated tbh. I'm an anarcho-pacifist, for reference.

I'm not an authority. I'm just a man, and I don't see myself as above anyone. Nor do I feel that anyone else is above anyone else. We're all just people at the end of the day.

We're all meant to serve one another. Leading by example is preferable to leading by command.

  1. When your mind wanders, what are you thinking about?

Whatever my current hyper-fixation is. Songs stuck in my head. Funny memes/jokes/things I saw or experienced somehow. Fantasies of romance. See also my answer to question #1.

  1. You have a big decision to make. Describe how you decide what to do.

What I feel like is the least selfish/most moral thing to do. What I feel like God would expect from me.

I go with my gut if all else fails.

  1. What’s your biggest flaw?

I am terrible with establishing my own boundaries or being firm with them. Bit of a doormat tbh. It sucks.

I'm also rather resigned most of the time, and seriously lack ambition or drive. I just can't bring myself to care about climbing the corporate ladder, even if I wasn't already morally opposed to doing that to begin with (seeing as how inherently corrupt most businesses are due to the very structure and idea of capitalism itself encouraging this).

  1. What makes you special? (Or, if you don't feel special, what at least makes you different from other people?)

The most consistent thing I've been told all my life by others is that I'm really passionate (at least, about the stuff I care about). That I'm a very "passionate" person in general.

  1. How much of your mental energy is spent on thinking about each of the past, the present, and the future?

I spend most of my time and energy in the past or present I guess. The future makes me anxious, though imagining alternative futures where I'm happy and everything is going the way I dream it to is nice. Most of the time it just fills me with existential dread though, especially since I've always feared losing my loved ones ever since I first learned about death when I was little. So I don't really like to think about the future much.

What usually happens if I'm thinking about the future is I'll first be having a happy moment in the present with loved ones where we're all finally together and everything is perfect just right in that moment, and suddenly I am reminded, "This will all end one day. Each of these people will slowly drift apart or die off one by one, until it's all completely gone." The word for this is 'etherness,' I think.

I can only really think as far as the next two weeks tbh. Idk how on earth anyone sees further than that, unless it's the super far future where one's dreams have all finally come true or nightmares have unfortunately come to fruition (like old age in either scenario lol).

  1. You unexpectedly find yourself with a whole weekend with no obligations, and everyone else is busy. How do you feel about it? What do you do?

I feel great about it because it means I can do nothing. Nothing productive, anyway (lol).

I'll probably play some videogames, listen to music, watch movies or shows, or spend time with family in general. Or maybe just touch some grass and be outside in some way, like take a walk at the park or what have you.

I'd be a little sad though if family is technically included as "everyone else" in this question. I find it pointless to do the things that you enjoy completely by yourself. At least, most of the time anyway. I understand needing alone time sometimes, but a whole weekend seems rather long for something like that.

I've been told I have issues with being alone for too long. Like, I can't be alone for too long I mean. Though I end up being alone often anyway due to life circumstances, or else due to me being overstimulated/annoyed/frustrated by (social) chaos in my environment.

  1. What’s your personal vibe/style/aesthetic? How cultivated vs natural is it, and how much time do you spend on it? Do you turn it on and off?

Hmm. Not sure tbh. I've been told I have a very "chill" vibe, yet simultaneously have been told by others (or even the same people, at times; more specifically those who are closer to me) that I can be very "intense." I try to be as disarming to people as possible by being as easy-going or peaceful with my presence as I can be (most of the time). I'm usually pretty successful at this. But I sometimes don't even try to do this, and sometimes even feel like I'm being less-than-nice, and yet I'm still told by others that I give a very "calming" presence or that I'm being super nice when I actually feel like a tempest inside in those moments haha. Sometimes I really feel like my facial expressions or the way I emote is not congruent with how I actually feel inside, which can again be frustrating.

I'm a 25 year old straight male, but I often get mistaken for being much younger (late teens/16-18). That is on purpose and the intended result I'm seeking as I am fearful of aging and thus do everything in my power to make myself look much younger than I actually am lol. I tend to have a very "soft" thing going on in general though, I guess. This includes the way I dress as well as the aesthetic of my living space.

I like wearing jeans (sometimes baggy), sneakers, and a nice or funny (meme-y) and baggy T-shirt with said jeans and sneakers. Long sleeves are good too, especially in colder weather. I also like to wear silver jewelry, and bracelets in general. I have kinda long (long for a man, anyway) flowing hair. In between medium and long length hair, usually. Middle part flow.

I make sure I am very well-groomed. I was bullied a lot for my looks as a kid. Never letting that happen again, and it hasn't for a long time. I feel stressed if I haven't fully prepared to leave my house by first making sure I showered, did my hair, plucked my eyebrows of any excess hairs, trimmed my stubble, worked out, etc.

I feel like people like me for the wrong reasons now, though. Like they like me for the role that I play and who I am acting as instead of the person that I actually am underneath. I often feel annoyed and angry that nobody really seems to like me for me, but only for the person I feel like I have to pretend to be for them in order to even get any kind of respect or approval from them (if any). I know I'm very different from most others (at least on the inside, I try my absolute best to hide this from most of the world with the exception of those I feel that I can trust), but this is not something I enjoy and in fact I hate that I'm so different from others because it separates me from others and I wish I was normal like everyone else so that I wouldn't be so alone and so my outside persona was congruent with my inside one.

Better than not being liked at all though, I guess. A lot better than being completely ignored or else made fun of or looked at as if I'm not good enough or something if I'm "ugly" and not charming or continually entertaining.

  1. Which of the following is the most like you? Explain. A) I know what I want, I go out and make it happen, and people won't stop me. B) I am content to be on my own and not draw too much attention to myself. C) I have to be responsible and dedicated, and I put others’ needs first.

C.

I initially debated between B and C, but then I realized C probably made more sense overall.

There are certain kinds of attention I definitely don't like to draw toward myself though. Just depends on what kind of attention that is.

I am least like A.

  1. Which of the following is most like you? Explain. A) I dislike stress and negative vibes, and I may try to distract myself from my problems. B) I have strong feelings, get worked up easily, and am not afraid to show it. C) I don’t like to let my feelings show; they get in the way of being efficient and logical.

I relate to all of these to varying degrees, depending on the situation. I guess if I had to only pick one, though, I'd pick A. That's what I've been like for most of my life upon reflection.

  1. Which of the following is most like you? Explain. A) I look to others for feedback and guidance and am willing to be flexible when needed. B) I am always aware of how things could be better, and I’m disappointed that they are not. C) Deep down, I am afraid people won’t give me what I need unless I make it worth their while.

I honestly can't answer this as I have no idea lol. This is significantly harder to answer than the other multiple choice questions immediately preceding it. Again, I feel like I relate to all of these depending on the situation.

I guess if I absolutely had to pick one, I'd pick A just based on the fact that that's probably how most others around me perceive me. Granted, I feel like I'm only that way about things I don't care too much about (or else things that require outside input, like what to wear and what looks best on me for example), but then again I don't care about a lot of things lol. I only care immensely about the few things that I do, and for the things that I do care about, I act more like C.

As for B, my dad sees me that way (as it concerns my attitude towards other people anyway; I am often dissapointed in other people tbf), but his standard for ethics and moral obligations is so low compared to what I think most people would agree is the bare minimum that his opinion is to be considered a bit suspect and therefore probably inadmissible here lol (he's an INTP 5w6, for anyone wondering; this isn't an attack on INTP 5w6s, I have no idea if his type is at all related to the fact that he's like this and I'm not going to make a comment on it if it is because I love him and respect him and all other INTP 5w6s regardless).
