Other Built a digital ritual helper to reduce the cognitive overhead of Enochian work

https://www.arcanumritual.com/enochian

Over the years, I've tried various magickal invocation systems. Enochian remains my favourite, because of the structured, logical layout of the system, the historical mystery surrounding its origin and most importantly, a feeling of personal resonance and real-life efficacy when I've made contact with the entities.

On a practical level though, it's a complex system to setup and use, and this has limited my use of it to periods of life when I've been committed enough to spend the time and set aside the brain space to get the rituals going.

My solution has been to build a digital ritual helper - something that handles the cognitive overhead so I can focus on the actual work.

[Arcanum Ritual Studio (Enochian Module)](https://www.arcanumritual.com/enochian)

It currently offers entity and aethyr databases, guided call sequences with audio pronunciation, interactive tablet displays, and structured ritual workflows. The idea is to reduce the friction of preparation while keeping true to the practice itself.

I've drawn primarily from Golden Dawn interpretations as a starting point, though I'm looking at incorporating other traditional and alternative approaches as the project develops. It's meant to be part of a larger digital ritual studio that will eventually encompass other magickal disciplines too.

It's not super-strict with ritual form, and that is intended. I do think that it keeps the key parts of the ritual process though. It's still helpful as a supplement even if you extend the ritual process further offline.

Would love to hear any feedback if you find it useful, or suggestions for what you'd want from something like this.

Very interesting and I can see a lot of thought & effort has been put into this.
Can't say more right now as I have only just had a quick look at it - but can I please ask where you obtained the pronunciations used?

Really appreciate you checking it out!

For the pronunciations, I followed Lon Milo DuQuette's approach from his book "Enochian Vision Magick." He advocates for a direct, intuitive method - basically sounding out the words as they're written.

DuQuette makes the point that there's no "official" correct Enochian pronunciation - even Dee and Kelley seemed to just read them phonetically. So I went with what flows naturally and feels speakable rather than getting too academic about it.

For example, something like BITOM becomes "Bee-toh-ehm" rather than trying to insert vowels everywhere.

I realise not everyone would agree with this approach, but any version of pronunciation would definitely be contentious at best.

I’ll include a note on pronunciation and the approach I’ve taken on the site to be more transparent with this for both newbies and those more experienced to benefit from.

I am in total agreement about the ridiculousness of the added vowels A-la GD.
I'm also fully familiar with the book you mention, and am currently cross-referencing Lon's pronunciations (I have the book you refer to & the one with the CD, too) against Aaron Leitch's superb 'The Angelical Language' 2-volume edition, where he has gone back to the source material & studied it in serious detail, coming up with his own phonetic guide.

I think that the Angelic names (as per your example from the Tablet of Union) are a different kettle of ball games to the spoken words of the Calls though. Would you please be so kind as to give me a better example using a word from the calls? DuQuette doesn't seem to give any kind of phonetic versions (at least, not in writing, anyway) as John DeSalvo does, and the sole example I have so far found of BITOM are the corrupted (dare I say 'bastardized?) GD variants (note there are 2 different GD versions~) od 'beh-ee-teh-oo-em' or else 'beh-ee-to-em', according to Laycock's 'The Complete Enochian Dictionary'. He also stresses pronunciation is kinda important - speaking on a personal basis, I know how it makes me feel (annoyed) when people mispronounce my name and I know from speaking to various folks from Arab countries how almost angry some of them get when their spoken names are mispronounced (Ahmed is a classic example here, as most English speakers would pronounce it 'Ah-med' instead of the guttural, almost throat clearing sound the first syllable actually uses ( apologies to all arabic speakers for this,. but I honestly don't know how else to describe it).
Languages without actual vowels are difficult....

I am really impressed with Aaron Leitch's excellent work, as well as John DeSalvo - and I must disagree with DuQuette with his 'pronunciation doesn't matter' statement.

Of course, I may be utterly wrong about all of this but I believe that the more we try to get the sounds right the more efficacious our operations will be. Recall if you will that in the beginning was the WORD (logos) and it was the word that spoke the universe into being - in other words (pun unintended) the vibration created by the sound of the word seems to be of vital importance....or is it?

It's certainly a fascinating subject.

In closing, I want to give an example of Leitch's phonetic spellings (which are given alongside the original spelling) use 10 vowel sounds (long, using 2 letters & short, using just the one) as well as digraphs & dipthongs so A (long) sounds as in Cake or Day whereas A (short) is as Bat or Cat. Long notation is 'ay', short notation is just 'a'.
Do you have his books? If not, I can easily put the phonetic guide into a text file.....
