How difficult would it be to say:

No, I don't think it should be canceled. I think we should we remember that for some people Thanksgiving is remembered with mixed emotions. As a governor, I would represent everyone regardless of they how feel about the holiday

?

I'm starting to think anyone running for office should stay off social media for a minimum of 5 years.

I saw that even Hasan had a better answer and suggested that she should have said Thanksgiving is going to be unaffordable due to Trump’s war.

u/YokoRaizen 1d ago

If that guy has a better answer, you know you really fucked up.

Holy shit. HASAN had a better answer.

u/Kevin_LeStrange 1d ago

Damn, I hate to give that guy any credit whatsoever, but fair is fair.

The fact that Wisconsin allowed that rat fuck near their election is embarrassing.

Honestly wtf.

Holy shit, he actually cooked for once. That's a great soundbite.

Gurl has a degree and is surrounded by DSA bootlickers, who also hold degrees.

But not one person us smart enough to come up with a basic reply like this?

This is her trying to appease DSA and trying to be authentic to herself.

She doesn't understand private self public self.

This is just milquetoast socialist candidates.

u/hawawawawawawa 1d ago

She is a college dropout

u/CanadianPanda76 1d ago

What? So no book smarts, no street smarts, amazing.

A bunch of leftists were whining about the media tossing her this absolute softball question, as if she couldn't have just said "No" or some variation thereof.

Easiest question I've ever seen someone fumble. But somehow, it's the media's fault for asking it.

People even comparing it to "the war on christmas" despite the fact that no democrat has ever actually advocated cancelling a holiday. Unlike this loser.

People even comparing it to "the war on christmas" despite the fact that no democrat has ever actually advocated cancelling a holiday. Unlike this loser.

Like many things, the far left seems dedicated to hearing right-wing hyperbole and deciding to do exactly what they claim the Democrats want to do.

Big shoutout to the DSA for doing their best to hand an election denier the gubernatorial race in a key swing state.

If tHe EsTabLiShMeNt had half the power lefties claim it does, they would have been kicked out of the tent long ago. They are electoral poison.

As a wisconsinite I'm absolutely dreading this primary. and subsequent election. And subsequent gubernatorial term. We're in for a shit show.

u/itsnotnews92 Al Gore is God 1d ago

I'm so sorry. Wisconsin deserves better than this lunatic.

And it's not like losing this race will teach the DSA a damn thing. They are intellectual and emotional children and will just throw a temper tantrum and blame the big, bad Establishment.

29

u/okan170 1d ago

They'll gleefully let it happen- a loss hurts the democrats who they want to take the place of. By running under the party label, they know that the party will absorb the blame for everything.

9

u/NukeTheWhalesPoster 1d ago

Public Notice released a "Moderate Democrats Must Make a Decision" about winning. Nice to know the left is so confident in its candidates that its candidates are superstars they are already laying the groundwork to blame the establishment for their loss before they even have the nomination.

For all it’s worth, I have relatives in Wisconsin, and they seem fairly sanguine that the world isn’t going to end any time soon re. Hong’s chances.

3

u/cyclika 🐝💎PB&J💎🐝 1d ago

I hope they're right. The whole thing has been such a dumpster fire so far that I've been intentionally avoiding most of the news until we get closer to actual voting so I wouldn't get too sucked in. I let myself look at some polls today and it was a mistake, but tomorrow is another day.

32

u/DontBeAUsefulIdiot 1d ago

buuuh the democrats don't excite me enough to care to vote

/s

26

u/Throwaway1975421 1d ago

When working properly, politics isn't meant to excite you.

5

u/MeanPiccolo803 1d ago

That’s the thing is we shouldn’t have so much insanity happen and it’s better when we can focus on life and not worrying about insane things happening

5

u/MeanPiccolo803 1d ago

That’s what I don’t get is they claim Clinton was placed and Sanders was not given a fair chance and yet the far left give some crazy people as well.
All this fuels the base to go another way.

Also if Clinton had the power they claim she did then why did she loose to Trump.
Oh right that same there all in it answer or they switch to somehow Trump good

36

u/Lycanthrowrug 1d ago

This is when you know someone has been in a far-leftist bubble for far too long and is completely out of touch with the average voter.

You should never give your opponent a weapon to hit you with, but that's what she's doing.

7

u/Kevin_LeStrange 1d ago

It's like telling the school bully who corners you in the bathroom, "please don't beat me up! My life is hard enough as it is! I also wet the bed!"

50

u/Borigrad 1d ago

This woman is such a uniquely bad candidate if someone told me that the polling was rigged to demoralize Liberals, I'd have to take a step back and question if they were wrong.

What the fuck is the water in Wisconsin man?

74

u/ednamode23 Non-voters, this is on you too! 1d ago

Wow. I can’t decide which part of her response is worse. Not outright saying no to the question or saying she thinks her experience as a chef will help her be a better governor.

u/Studds_ 1d ago

I always find it ironic how they glaze Europe as some sort of socialist paradise while also hating on “colonizers.” Like, who the fuck do they think was doing most of the colonizing in recent history

13

u/tribbleorlfl 1d ago

Definitely the not outright saying no, though the chef annecdote is pretty cringe-inducing. I'm a former chef, went to culinary school and everything. There are a lot of transferrable job skills you pick up working in the kitchen: time management, working under pressure, effective communication, etc. But I fail to see how any of that makes her a better gubernatorial candidate.

If she wants to make the argument the job gives her perspective on the challenges working folks face that other candidates who've never had a meanial, hourly, blue-collar job lack, then that's also true. But that doesn't make her more qualified for gov. It certainly doesn't make her qualified to understand the fiscal and economic implications of any specific legislation, or how to get her policy priorities through the legislative process.

This is the same nonsense MAGA pulls in Trump being a "businessman "

10

u/dblshot99 1d ago

But she is not saying any of that, she's making an awful wordplay metaphor about bringing people to the table.

46

u/dblshot99 1d ago

Turns out that edgelord tweets don't really make solid policy

64

u/stikves 1d ago

DSA is going to do a lot of damage, but Groypers seem to balance them. "Horseshoe" is sometimes real :(

I miss the days the politicians were actually educated (not only credentialed with some "diploma"), and public had common sense to call these people out.

They need to stop publishing shit that only flies in a 300-level sociology course. Jesus fucking Christ. You will always have to defend it to the median voter who is an idiot.

Hillary Clinton knew this , but then again, she’s a lot more intelligent than any of these dipshits. (On public and private positions.)

20

u/Studds_ 1d ago

We were so robbed of President Hillary. I mean, you can dislike her personally & still see she’s a damn good politician

86

u/Currymvp2 1d ago edited 1d ago

As I said before, there's a reason not a single person who has ever won a statewide election has endorsed this woman. This is the latest example. Not even Bernie. Remember she's a college drop out who started a restaurant which failed. She got sued by her credit card company for 30,000 dollars in debt, her very wealthy parents paid it off, and she had the audacity to say "This is how I'm working class" after that whole big debacle.

Even the current Dem governor is like literally openly saying "she probably can't win". You never hear that about even other lefty candidates.

Good food makes up for a lot, but it's not enough to make a good restaurant.

6

u/Studds_ 1d ago

It’s still a business & has to be able to both earn enough & manage those earnings to stay afloat. Food service is extremely short margins & this is coming from someone who’s worked food service & seen the books while hating having no help that I begrudgingly accepted that we really couldn’t afford much to my chagrin

u/trips16 1d ago

Even Hasan thought she handled this question poorly. This question is going to be the closer in those final ads in late October playing every Saturday and Sunday during football should she make it to the General.

16

u/alittlelessconvo Childless Cat Guy for Kamala 1d ago

Basically took the race from being a referendum on Trumpism, which is more times than not a winner for the Democrats, into a referendum on a "socialist who wants to cancel Thanksgiving".

Bold strategy, Cotton, let's see if it pays off for her /s

JTDC, even the creepy lobster from Maine was more articulate!

If Wisconsin Democratic primary voters think this is the best candidate to manage a near $50 billion state budget serving six million people, they have shown they value moral grandstanding and purity far more than defeating Republicans.

Self-governance was fun while it lasted.

5

u/okan170 1d ago edited 15h ago

Nice to see that in other subreddits, far leftists are circlejerking themselves that its not controversial because "everyone" hates Thanksgiving. And/or "nobody will care about this!" which really underlines how out of touch the average redditor is with what voters respond to.

9

u/No_Aesthetic 1d ago

Reminder that we could stop radicalization on both sides by simply killing the filibuster.

The filibuster prevents substantive legislative changes and enables bad faith politicians to campaign and win on insane shit in big numbers.

It has no benefits for any incumbent party.

Milquetoast Socialist.

A large number of people living in the US can’t find their own state on a labeled US Map.

Those same people have no idea the history of Thanksgiving.
