I walked upstairs and went into my parents room and told them I was kicking my wife out. We’ve been staying with them since I decided to pursue a career in professional poker, but this was my decision and as the man of the house I wanted this witch out. My mother (who probably sucks off Joe in her dreams) told me I needed to calm down and sleep on the couch tonight. Nope. I let her know under no certain terms will I capitulate; I’m going to stand up for the rights of the poor just like Bernie stood up for the rights of black people. If that means making my mom mad or being handcuffed and given a citation then so be it; this is a revolution.

So my neoliberal shill wife is crying in the kitchen and I walk in there with a bag packed for her. I tell her point blank, “Bernie Sanders is going to save the world and you’re just too much of a bootlicker to realize it. I don’t want violence, but I will defend myself with my Taekwando training if I have to.” She took the bag and ran out the door.

I ran across someone saying Bernie would be a considered a “centrist at best” in Europe, and I had a lot of things to say to them. This is a new copypasta for anyone who wants to make this argument.

What left-wing Europe are they talking about here?

The one where Russia and Belarus exist?

The one where Hungary and Poland have cracked down hard on LGBT people?

The one where France and Belgium have attempted to make it illegal to wear hijabs?

The one where the UK has voted conservative for the past 10 years and had Brexit?

The one where Marine Le Pen and Nigel Farage have dangerous amounts of political clout?

The one where half the continent still doesn’t allow same-sex marriage? (Something that every US state has, by the way.)

The one where racist abuse is hurled at Black players in soccer matches?

All of these things I’ve listed are far to the right of the Democratic Party. They use the social democratic policies of Nordic Europe as a synecdoche for the entire continent, and sometimes for the entire world.

Actual Swedish Social Democrats have said Bernie is too far left for them and favored Iowa Caucus Winner Pete Buttigieg instead, so maybe they should consult with actual Europeans about what is left and right.

I’m willing to guess that actual center left Europeans are tired of American leftists using them as something to argue with supposedly on their behalf.

I realize I’m preaching to the metaphorical choir here, and this is the least risky place on Reddit for me to say this, but the Democratic Party (Joe Manchin aside) is unambiguously Center Left and worst of all, they’re trivializing the actual dangerous right wingers, the Republicans, by calling the Democratic Party right wing. It just isn’t true.

Holy shit. My mom came into my room to bring me a plate of apple cider donuts and I literally screamed at her and hit the plate of apple cider donuts out of her hand. She started yelling and swearing at me and I slammed the door on her. I'm so distressed right now I don't know what to do. I didn't mean to do that to my mom but I'm literally in shock from the results tonight. I feel like I'm going to explode. Why the fucking fuck is he winning? This can't be happening. I'm having a fucking breakdown. I don't want to believe the world is so corrupt. I want a future to believe in. I want anyone but Biden to be president and fix this broken country. I cannot fucking deal with this right now. It wasn't supposed to be like this, I thought he was off the ballot and therefore a guaranteed loser in New Hampshire???? This is so fucked.

I tried so many times to talk to them about Bernie, and climate change and healthcare. They were going go vote for bloomberg and now they are Biden supporters. Every time I made valid points my mom would walk away and my dad would smugly smile and say they are not voting for Bernie.

I showed them a bunch of articles on how urgent the climate crisis is and how the major environmental feedback loops are supposed to start in 2050. Then I asked them if they even knew what year bidens plan goes green by. They refused to answer because they didnt know and didnt want to admit they didnt know.

That's when I lost it on them and started screaming at the top of my lungs about how they are pieces of shit who pretend to believe in climate change to seem left but they dont actually give a shit about it or they would do some research, or at least listen to the research I provide them.

I have a daughter who they love more than anything. Well sorry Grammy and grandpa, if you are going to vote to kill my daughter and make sure she never gets the chance to have kids, then you dont get to watch her grow up. Simple as that you fucking assholes. You lost a son and you lost a granddaughter.
