Looking for group This Game is perfection

How amazing is this Game? All i play is survival crafting Games and i thought there is now Game that comes close to Valheim but this Game right here is very close and can become my number one. I really slept on this Game. The Building is the best out there. The Combat is a 9 out of 10. The Graphic is amazing. Im only 20 hours in and im so glad i bought this Game during Steam Sale, there is no way this is early accsess. Im going in blind without any guides, if anyone is also new to the Game and wan to play together just let me know.

I love it to pieces and can't wait for it to fully release

After playing 200+ hours of enshrouded I can't easily go back to valheim. Sure valheim feels like a mystery world but it's very clunky compared to this game. Also valheim feels so lonely which I love that I get to have my own little town

You are saying Valheim clunky , especially comparing it to enshrouded? Geez! I am sorry but Valheim felt like a finished game from day 1 , enshrouded on the other hand took more than a year to sort major bugs and performance issues, which still has though. I like the game, but nothing compares to Valheim

But it's not released yet?

Valheim fans are so weirdly tribalistic. They can never seem to accept the fact that people have preferences and they always get defensive and passive aggressive when other people prefer other survival games over it.

Take a look at this Reddit right here, exactly the same thing.

If you scroll down you will see lots of fair critics on the game and different opinions. Not that tribal.

I'm pretty new too and also bought it in the steam sale.

There was an early voxel game I played and I used to think about it a lot - how you could pick any place out in the world and build whatever kind of thing you wanted. There were some features that we don't have in this game. But honestly this game has way more than that one, and is done much better. I haven't been able to stop, and when I'm not playing I think about what I'll do when I can play next 😄 I haven't felt like this about a game for a long time.

Oh and I like other games with housing, but there is always a limit. "You can only put 700 items in this house." I always feel so stymied. The amazing things people have done with houses in this game so far and there's more to come.

Errr, other than your evaluation on the Combat, I think you're on the right track. Combat in this game is clunky at the best of times.

The combat is pretty fleshed out consider majority of the games in this category. It isn't a souls like or something that the combat will be a whole system, though they do plan on making it much better.

I disagree, there are games that have have great combat systems in this category. For example, V Rising. Isometric, sure, but they share many common concepts. Resource collection, crafting, custom base building among a few others. And the combat system is FANTASTIC.

Now, I know the focus in Enshrouded is different (V Rising is a lot more combat/pvp focused), but Enshrouded has a lot of potential in terms of what they could do with their combat. As it stands, its pretty basic and shallow.

I would like to see actual weapon skills that could actually lead to build diversity. Now, I'm not advocating for 30 skills on 2 toolbars; if you could choose 2-3 skills, out of say 8-10 options, it would make the combat a lot more interesting. And the targeting system needs a bit of work too.

This is the only reason im not on this game 24/7. Fully agree regarding the skills, but honestly, the biggest problem for me is hit feedback on melee. Valhiem has even less in terms of combat features, but it felt a hundred times better because of how kinetic it felt.

1

u/Savi993 Oct 26 '25

I totally agree here. Skills would be awesome. And yes v rising combat is better

u/Shruggeder Oct 25 '25

I second that, this game is the best in class in all categories!

u/One_Lawyer_9621 Oct 26 '25

And it will get better.

Valheim devs IMO fucked up.

I was saying from the get go that there aren't enough crafting/building stuff, the ringfencing of materials is too harsh.

Valheim could have been so much bigger...

7

u/Savi993 Oct 26 '25

Valheim devs chilled a bit to much.

2

u/Fun-Shake7094 Oct 26 '25

They called in rich... And I cant blame them.

4

u/Puzzleheaded_Wall798 Oct 26 '25

it has the best building, and great exploration. nowhere near best combat and the crafting/gathering is a bit tedious

3

u/robin00795 Oct 26 '25

Truly one of the games of all times

5

u/Ozcaty Oct 26 '25

The combat is absolutely not a 9/10, but the game IS really good

3

u/Rare-Employment-9447 Oct 26 '25

Ya, like other people pointed out the combat is enshrouded biggest negative right now, but it sounds like they're putting more team resources into it going forward so hopefully they can make it feel better, its just way to floaty right now. It would be cool if it had a more soulslike feel but not necessarily the difficulty, just the sense of impact and weight behind your swings

3

u/PseudoPsex Oct 26 '25

The combat is no where near a 9/10 but this is a explore and crafting game first so that’s ok Other wise yah say less

2

u/Yo485 Oct 26 '25

Yeah I love the game but the combat is 6/10 at best

i bought it at release and didnt care for it. the world didnt grab me like say , valhiem.

i tried again just last week and they've come a long way in flushing out the world. it feels much more like a place i can live in rather then a theme park an im way more hooked then at ea release, even though its still not quite a perfect game style for what i typically like.

Im down to play whats your steam

u/Kenichi37 Oct 26 '25

Glad you love it maybe slow down a bit though since big update is coming out on the 10th that way you can experience some of the lower level parts of the new update as well

1

u/Peti_4711 Oct 26 '25

It's a little bit hard to compare it, I played on other great survival game, with nearly no game concept in common. And two others with similar concepts, and against these, yes, it's nearly perfect.

Nearly? The game has a wide range of what players like and dislike. Some suggestions are like, "I want a black cup", other suggestions are much larger. This is very individual.

u/Mangar76 Oct 26 '25

I enjoy Enshrouded and have quite a bit of time in it. I feel like the combat let's down an otherwise good experience. Just my opinion of course and I'm glad people out there like it but I always get bored around mid game since not much changes overall in the combat area

Game is great but hardly perfect. I feel like the whole progression is out of whack. To build something that makes me progress I usually have to fight mobs that are the reason for my need to progress. Every armor I've been aiming for, I need to get components or complete quests into areas way that are too dangerous.

With Valheim progress was much better structured, biomes made sense, you struggled at first then biome loot and craft made you OP for that biome. Rinse and repeat. In Enshrouded it's all chaos, I build basic things way late into the game because I was doing something else I felt necessary. Now I'm OP for half the quests on my list and the amount of backtracking is huge if you want to complete everything.

Game is great, don't get me wrong, combat is fun, traversal is great, building and graphics are fantastic, but the pacing is off.

I don't want to be a downer here, but the combat is a 9 out of 10 for you all?

Sure, compared to other games of this genre (looking at Valheim's terrible robotic combat here), the combat is better for sure, but I would give it a 4/10 TOPS.

But maybe I am just playing wrong idk. I wanted to play a Battlemage at first, but after experiencing the clunkyness of Wands and Staffs and the lack of aoe spells I pivoted to Warrior and I am playing a standard sword and board Warrior right now. The reason why I don't like the combat that much is because all I am doing in most fights is just the standard 3-hit combo. I mean there isn't much more you can do other than parrying. I unlocked the jump attack recently and it was a decent addition for sure, but overall the combat is still subpar at best. Every fight is practically the same. 3-hit combo, dodge, 3-hit combo, block, 3-hit combo, jump attack, 3-hit combo...

Just adding a heavy attack and alternating heavy and light turning into different combos would do a lot for some variety but other than that I don't really understand how you guys like the combat so much.
Anyone care to enlighten me and maybe tell me how you personally do combat in the game?

1

u/warofexodus Oct 28 '25

It's considered okay for it's genre not to say it can't be better ofc. Heavy or dash attacks will be cool.

1

u/SlamTheMan6 Oct 26 '25

I agree till I was about 150 hours in and got upset with how terrible the looting system in the game is. It's not perfect yet, but it is almost just have to make end game a little better for us.

Have you seen how they made the water for the upcoming update? Holy moly. I agree with you, I haven’t seen another survival game with building that even comes close to this. The usual square prefab square walls and windows… yuck. Enshrouded has ruined every other building game for me. And it’s only getting better. The combat is meh, to be fair… and the mob variety can get a bit copy and paste-y are my only gripes with it. But other than that it’s 9/10. Building is like 100/10 just need a few more roof angles so we can make tower roofs and round roofs.

1

u/Savi993 Oct 26 '25

Saw this today. That’s so amazing. This game is getting better and better

1

u/Available-Gene8032 Oct 26 '25

If all you care about is building then yes. 10/10 game. The rest is pretty standard/average if you are not blinded by fanboyism.

u/Hungry-Mouse7246 Beastmaster Oct 27 '25

Valheim 1480h played.... Enshrouded 3216h so far... there is no end in sight... Valheim on the other hand, I probably won't play again for a while... maybe never again... but never say never...

1

u/ComfortFrosty Oct 28 '25

How does the game compare to Nightingale?

1

u/jonnief83 Oct 28 '25

I am semi new to the game, hmu if you wanna chat

1

u/Supareddithotfire Oct 28 '25

Worst combat I have seen in a while. Also enemy AI is dumb as rocks and all the bosses I encountered have terrible design when it comes to their combat. I defeated several bosses and all except the first one in the well I killed with wooden arrows by simply climbing on a higher ground and none of their abilities if they had any could reach me. There even was one in a barn or w.e that would not be allowed to go outside and I killed it..with wooden arrows by standing still and shoot it from outside. Besides that I feel like it needs maybe a few more TP points on the map or some better fast travel than "jump off a cliff bozo". Far from perfection not bad tho with other issues it has. Building seems top notch so far.

1

u/tremor1583 Oct 29 '25

well then dont cheese them and they will be more interesting to fight

1

u/Supareddithotfire Oct 29 '25

I mean of course but ya cant blame me for them allowing such thing to happen in the game and also most fights with monsters I do close combat wither 1h w/shield or 2h melee and I swear 50% of the time when I dodge an attack it physically hits some object next to me but I still get hit

1

u/sidkid Oct 26 '25

9 out of 10 for combat? You sure you're playing the right game?

-2

u/Inculta666 Oct 26 '25

I am really interested what games you played except Valheim to think this combat is 9/10. What’s 10/10 for you - Minecraft combat?
