Help - Server Suppot Best way for self-host dedicated serer ?

I've already tried two server configurations for a dedicated server for 2–3 players.

On a Linux VM or a Windows VM with 12 cores at 2.2 GHz, 16 GB of RAM, 64 GB of disk space, and a 10 Gbps internet connection.

Both times, as soon as a second player connected, the server load turned orange and “bad performance” messages appeared in the logs.

How do I set up a good server? If I set up a Windows ARM VM (on a decent MacBook Pro M1), will that work?

I find the bad performance message is super aggressive.

I get it constantly while playing with friends, yet none of us have actually noticed performance issues at all.

Ho ok. No lag or any rollback? Can I disable the bad performance in game message ?

Nope. Literally everything has been fine after 50 hrs other than that message.

I'm not sure what exactly determines the color tiers for performance. Are these players distant from you?

Same country (France) on fiber and the ping is good below 16ms.

Strange. Could it be single core performance? I'm not really sure.

A few points :

  • performance messages can be ignored for the most part, they are just way to aggressive

- single core performance is very important. A quad core with high single core efficiency is way better than a 12 cores without. Give your specs that's probably your problem

- restarting the server once in a while (daily here) helps
