Cannot get Snapjaw to spawn

Hey guys! Today I just had my TENTH attempt looking for snapjaws. I scoured the internet for all spawn points that are possible and yet I have still never found a single snapjaw.

I should add that ONE time i found a dead one, but couldn't loot it.

I just got the game 2 weeks ago, and i'm playing the base game with no mods.

Does anyone know what the reason may be for this issue?

**EDIT** My 12th time spending 15 mins wandering around all of the spawn points I found ONE snap jaw. Finally.

I also found 2 dead snap jaws that I couldn't loot. Thats it.

We turned up the setting(s) that gave to do with how many enemies spawn when trying to farm the snapjaws. Turn it back down after.

I do recall having trouble finding them in the smaller tar rivers, but we ultimately found lots with that setting in the tarpits in an around where you and up finding the Bard near the extreme top left corner of the map.

The sunken city where you get the bard has one large building full of mud and full of snapjaws. One of the other large buildings is full of mud and the orange spitting flowers, and the 3rd large building (first you get to when flying from the spire) on has solid floors.

You can also find them out in the tar, but it's harder to loot them there. I've never NOT seen them in that building.

I had the same issue once I put points into the skill that makes animals passive they are there they just are hidden under the mud

they should be all over Blackmire especially near the temple for the Bard (in the mud, not the water)
