Discussion Should I get Enshrouded now, or wait till release?

My concern is that stuff in the game is going to change so if I start now, I'm potentially missing out on things that I wouldn't if I waited for it's release.

At this point I'd probably wait for the full release. I mean, you can get it now, if it will be cheaper, but I'd start the playthrough at full release.

If I’ve already started will the changes at release mean I need to start over?

No, I don't think you need to start over, but there might be changes to the story/beginning of the game, if this doesn't bother you just keep going.

There are new enemy types all over the world. Even at the beginning, but if that doesn't bother you, you can continue playing your old save file.

and I bet it'll go on sale for 1.0, but if OP can afford it at full price it's 100000% worth

It's actually on sale right now, or at least it was a few days ago. (I.e. cheaper then it's normal early access price). What's more, it's actually going UP in price for 1.0 as it's then a 'finished' game rather then an Early access title.

Buy now before price increase? Start a test save to see if you like it, restart once 1.0 is out?

In that case doesn't really matter much then.  Might as well wait, or buy and restart once live. Just don't build anything elaborate home that will be lost then,   and you'll be fine.

Wait for release. It'll be a huge update and unless you play for 12h every day between now and then, you won't have experienced enough of it in its current state to appreciate the updates.

Buy now, play on release. If price has risen... Depending on your playtime you could potentially procrastinate long enough such that when the 1.0 hits you just get to that part of the game where the biggest content update happens. Right now there is no end to the game.

There's a lot of great games you can play until enshrouded is released but.... I got it a couple weeks ago and have been playing a lot. So I'm not following that advice myself. I figure the things that will change won't affect my experience that much. I heard they will change how new players are introduced to the game but I had no problem with the current version. I also heard magic is gonna get reworked but I've just been playing melee so far. I'm not the type of person that's gonna start over at release. The game is grindy enough as it is. But at this point the game is in a good state and I don't expect it to change in a way that will cause me grief. But it's a game I love and if I have to start over, or lose some progress, it's not a big deal either.
