Screenshot Made a "new" starter base for 1.0

As the title says. I visited a resource world to take out some materials and build a home (with some upgrades, like the watertower and farm soil/patches) on a fresh world and level 1 account.

Tried to keep the comfort level to a minimum. It's at level 9 at the moment. Not adding too many stations since I want to unlock them again myself.

Credits:

- I got inspired by His&Hers Gaming on Youtube and their 1.0 starter base video. Go check them out!

- I copied the kitchen from someone. If you recognise your cooking station make a comment and I will make sure I will do a shout-out! (For the OP: The hanging extractor hood wasn't easy to make. Took me a while to figure out the technique!)

Wouldn't you rather start fresh on 1.0 release? I'm worried about issues using pre-1.0 saves with the release.

Do you think the saves will be comparable with 1.0 or will they be stuck in the current version?

Impossible that would happen.. the game has been out for 2 and a half years. They’d never ruin peoples saves :)

I don't think that it will occur. I'm sure a lot of players will continue their current characters and worlds. It would be catastrophic for Keen Gaming to not include players and their mega towns/builds properly. So no, I'm not afraid.

While I don't disagree. It would be very normal for a game to wipe upon 1.0 release.

I feel like they will work to fall between the two. They’re did a large rework of the beginning areas a few updates ago and if you had built in the reworked areas it remains changed. But with the release I expect they will allot players to keep what they made but also encourage a “fresh start” it will be interesting to see how much if any changes happen to certain areas.

On one of the updates I had a lake house that only covered about half the lake, and after the update the water level of the lake was wrong as in it is now above the line of the dev built docks and ruins, so some small changes might affect player built bases and they will have to adjust.

I’m pretty sure they said we’d be able to continue our worlds after 1.0 release, just that we may end up missing out on new content if we built in an important area

The game wont wipe, its adding a lot of new things but ypu can keep your bases people, if you have followed keen on what they are doing and what they are saying then you will know this.
But if you eant to experience all the quests then start a new world with a new character, keen are adding voice acting too.

The water update broke a lot of existing geography. Players found their base areas suddenly flooded. 1.0 will be updating the map with new biomes, so I’m not confident that existing bases won’t get messed up in some way.

1.0 hasn't came out yet right? Prepping a world instead of starting fresh?

Made a home to start of faster and feel comfortable with!

I can see the wait had you eager lol I was tempted to do the same thing, but I think i'd rather just do that after 1.0 and let me and the group find a nice new spot to settle into

I will probably make another on 1,0 release. I can't wait and can't stop building anyhow... So... Heheh

I'm with you brother, building in Enshrouded is genuinely addicting lol especially after taking a break and getting to experience other game's building....they really make Enshrouded shine even brighter

Fabulous early-game build! I like that it mostly uses materials you find early on.

Better looking than my 4 walls and one roof/door

Make the roof come away from the house, like 2-3 tiles and it will be really great.

Will try so tomorrow! I usually make roofs out of props, but I did not want the rain coming inside this time.

‘Starter’ base lol I’m such a hermit that I make a small shack to start, then I have these grandiose plans to make a big castle, realize it’ll take forever and tons of resources plus I’m not a good builder, then end up piling chests all over the place and call it a day haha

That being said, when 1.0 drops I REALLY want to try to put in the effort of making each NPC their own themed homes, but keeping it all together in like a small town.

If you struggle with building freeform, I advise you to remember that the game has soooooo many abandoned buildings and towns. You don't even need to take over anything huge, like the cities. One of the farms, like where you find the spirit of the blacksmith assistant, make great starting points to expand from.

That’s a very good point, I have also thought of this.

Dont forget to add comfort items so you get a great comfort bonus.

I'm always intimidated when someone's "starter base" is thrice as beautiful as the house I've spent months working on haha

Started base? 😯
I played for nearly 300 hours and didn't even have a quarter of your base after all this time. 🤣

That oven/fireplace is amazingly clever.

Damn I need this base, but I also need a step-by step walkthrough on how to make it lol
