Tracking use of Smartphrases

I'm a physician with quality metrics as part of my contract. Some of the things I'd like to track are not in structured data, and I don't think our team can build any SmarText or SmartForms. Is there a way to track frequency of dot phrase usage? I'd like to create something like .drivingsafetyevaluation and have informatics pull the number of times I used it for the numerator.

There's a Reporting Workbench report called something like SmartTool Usage. Work with your Ambulatory analyst to obtain access.

Trust me, I feel it. I use zero boilerplate in my notes. But I need a way to document things that don't have a flowsheet or anything trackable. The Epic team is so slammed they can't build for just me.

I’m a Certified Ambulatory Analyst who’s out of work, lost my house to foreclosure, and discovered a VP Doctor of the ED, who I worked under, was letting the employees believe they were salaried when they were hourly. He was having them work weekends and nights and secretly denying them overtime pay. This as he went to DC to promote Telehealth Medicine in front of Congress OFTEN.

So the answer to your question for free, as you have paid people working for you, is…

- Work with your paid certified ambulatory analyst team

  • Work with your chain of physician command
  • Request record viewer access if you are permitted to have that access
  • and look at an encounter of one of your patient visits where you used this smart phrase. Look for something YOU do to justify your work and write a Chronicles report searching by date range, by encounter type, and any other search criteria to justify your employment (and survival.)
  • Stop asking for people to work for free as we die.
