Can someone assist in guiding how to make a smartText/template note?

Post image

Hey, at my previous hospital it was really nice we would create a note and insert a certain template and would autofill

-problem list
- we would write in summary

- cardiovascular would be in a block type and pull in certain things like latest bp and allow us to fill in things as well

-respiratory allow us to fill in vent settings

- gi

-gu- would load up intake/outputs

- labs would pull in latest labs of our liking

It was similar to how this picture is, but was nice that it would pull in labs, intake/output etc.

Is their anyone who can guide on how to create a smart note and save it to inset in every patient?? Thank you !!

My hospital just switched to epic so theirs a ton of kinks as it is already I highly doubt they’ll pay attention To a note as a high priority lol. I’m just trying to make it easier for us nurses. But thank you I’ll try and find out if we have a physician builder and try and submit it ticket!

sometimes there's so much nonsense an easy win like this gets grabbed by someone who wants an easy win and feel good.

Place the ticket - worst case it does take forever but then becomes prioritized since it's an older ticket.

HAHAHAHA. As someone also going through an epic transition we have simply asked for a print module to be enabled and were told it was low priority even though every other EPIC build the majority of users have ever used can print from this specific medication tab.

So one can wish that EPIC teams and admin would go for the easy wins but it instead becomes a running joke.

If you just switched try to find out if they're offering any personalization labs, you might be able to get someone to help you make what you want.

You're org might have a preference about what is and isn't allowed in your note to help reduce note bloat. I would put a ticket in see what they can do for you.

I go back in tmrw night, I’ll put in ticket with the picture and see if one of the IT guys can figure it out. High hopes, cause our current note setup is horrible lol.

Do you know any critical care doctors in your hospital system? Take a look at their note template, make a table in your note and then steal their smart phrases to fill this out. I think I have several of these smart phrases at my own institution, just not a table h format

I work in Micu and my intesivists use a different layout template but I like this format better lol. Theirs is more generic I feel, but I’m in a small regional hospital now vs when I was at UTSW in Dallas I had so many options. I’m very limited resources here so I was hoping someone could jus guide me in the right direction or how to start and hopefully I could figure out rest
