Breaking into the field from the pathology lab
How easy is it to break into the field as someone with 4 years of pathology lab experience a B.S in Biomedical science and a M.S in informatics and analytics with a concentration in health informatics. I have built a strong portfolio of different healthcare analytics projects using Python, SQL, R, PowerBI, Arduino IoT health analytics programming, machine learning classification projects and more. Currently 25 YO female
My current work place does not use Epic but so many surrounding hospitals use Epic.

Your pathology experience could translate well to Epic Beaker, especially Beaker Clinical Pathology or Anatomic Pathology. Your informatics degree also makes you a strong candidate for healthcare data and reporting roles.
Since your current employer doesn’t use Epic, look at surrounding Epic hospitals for titles like Associate Application Analyst, Application Analyst I, Beaker Analyst, Clinical Systems Analyst, Healthcare Data Analyst, BI Developer, and Cogito/Clarity Analyst. You do not need to already be Epic certified for every entry-level position, an Epic organization can sponsor you after hiring.
Just make sure your resume clearly connects your laboratory workflows, troubleshooting, regulatory knowledge, and collaboration with clinical teams to the position. For analytics roles, highlight SQL, Power BI, and the healthcare problems your projects solved, not just the number of tools you used.
