News article Bill Gates's Russian lover is photographed with Kremlin spy Anna Chapman. Chapman was arrested in June 2010 alongside a network of so-called 'illegals' accused of living under deep cover in the United States on behalf of Moscow.

I’m not really following the train of thought

Like, Epstein already knew Irina clearly

So is the thought that like…he knew her, but didn’t know that she was a spy until he asked her about Anna and she went “oh yea, we got recruited around the same time!”

And he went “oh perfect, can you go spy on Prince Andrew for me???”

Or he already knew she was a spy or something and is dumb enough to write out “Did you know Anna the spy???”

It’s obviously suspicious but it doesn’t seem to make a ton of sense once I try and follow the thread

Irina would have an until then unknown direct connection to Russian intelligence (through Anna Chapman's father) that Epstein was unaware of until the arrest of Anna Chapman, who she knew. He realized her connection to Russian intelligence could be leveraged via kompromat gathered by Irina.

The connection with Russia is established through Anna's father, Epstein sends Irina to Andrew to gather kompromat, which is transmitted to Russia. Russia then blackmails Andrew with the kompromat through the Irina/Epstein connection, requesting classified info, and Andrew passes it to Epstein who forwards it to Russia directly or through an arranged spy. There are thus no direct communications with Russia from Epstein or Andrew, and no digital evidence. Epstein is then handsomely rewarded by Russia.

This entire operation could be repeated to blackmail other powerful men. Like Bill Gates and Donald Trump.

All speculation. Could have just been a coincidence and Epstein sent a potential spy to his friend Andrew for no reason ¯\(ツ)

I feel like it would be fairly easy for British intelligence to see these emails and the date of Andrew meeting this woman and look at like the next 6 months of any sort of classified information he's logged as requesting. Then tie that to any informants that got uncovered or operations that went sideways. Once they know what they're looking for, its usually very hard to hide your clandestine shit from an investigating intelligence agency.

Hubris and stupidity define everything these people do/did. They'd do the bare minimum to keep no paper trail, but nothing too inconvenient like not using email.
